Also hate to say it, but you could really see where Emi is better than Leno today. Leno looked really vulnerable to the crosses and didn't have good command of his box
Yh, also I hate that Leno is now going to be under such a watch. Every mistake criticised probably.
Yep, don't want to say it because Leno is great too, but the problem is Emi was so faultless during that period. Seemed to catch every cross or shot. You just felt so confident with him in goal that people are gonna question why we sold him when Leno has a shaky moment.
If Arsenal sold Emi or kept him, either way fans would be critical of Leno. Look at the Man United situation with DDG. Better to just sell one and move on imo instead of always having the debate on who should be playing.
I agree with Stlducks tbf, I think having Martinez still there would only end up with fans even unhappier with Leno starting after an error, or it would lead to switching GKs way too often.
While I agree you shouldn’t take it, Partey is a player they use(I assume), whereas Torreria is someone you seem to be actively looking to ship out.
The thing is they want to bring Torreira in on loan with an option to buy, we simple cannot do that, Torreira is a player we have to loan with obligation to buy.
Atletico Madrid have to sell to bring players in, they can't bring Marc Roca or Torreira in unless someone is sold, Partey could be that guy. Both those players they have been linked with seem like his replacement rather than additions, they seem pretty stacked there.
They won't budge on the £45m release clause but we can't pay the clause unless we sell Torreira not loan with an option which is no guarantee of money.
If Partey wants to move he just put in a request and see if Atletico and Arsenal can work something out on moving Torreira plus cash for him.
Torreria, just like Guendouzi is over-hyped and over-priced by Arsenal supporters. Not much interest in other clubs for either one. If they were that talented, there would be a lot more options out there considering their age and the fact Arsenal are openly trying to move them.
We have now 19 non-homegrown over 21 year olds and the requirement is 17 max. If we are to bring a midfielder such as Partey or Aouar in then we need to sell/loan/drop 3 of these players below
Leno
Runarsson
Cedric
Mustafi*
Sokratis*
David Luiz
Gabriel
Pablo Mari
Tierney
Kolasinac*
Xhaka
Elneny
Torreira*
Ceballos
Ozil
Pepe
Willian
Aubameyang
Lacazette
The 4 players with a * are the ones that seem to be actively rumoured to move, Mustafi to Lazio, Sokratis to Napoli, Kolasinac to Leverkusen and Torreira to Atletico/Torino. I doubt any of the others will be sold so 3 of those 4 have to go or be dropped in the next 14 days
We can play the Torreira game one of two ways. An expensive loan like €8m without an option to buy and we hope his price tag goes up over there and we sell next summer for £35m rather than £22m.
Or we accept nothing other than a £22m fee whether that is a loan with obligation or installment payments. Something that guarantees us money so we move for Partey/Aouar.
Either way 3 players need to move on, Torreira, Sokratis and either Kola or Mustafi seem the favourites to go.

That tweet was the first I have heard of Herrera being shopped around. A quick Twitter/Google search and I do not see any clubs linked to him. I know Atletico do not want Partey to go but if the player wants to move and they want Torreria, a swap plus cash is best for all involved.
- Eddie seems invisible
- Pepe similar, expecting more from him in the second half
- Nelson looked the best out of the front 3
- Saka best so far, always looking to make something happen and his product is the best
- Elneny, bit average, nothing to say really
- Willock has looked poor for me, could do with subbing him off for Ceballos at half time or shortly into the second half.
- AMN been a bit invisible, nothing attacking coming down that right side really.
- Holding has looked good, quite impressed
- David Luiz has looked fine, his long balls are a bit off today
- Kolasinac has looked fine to be honest
- Leno doing fine for me
Ceballos, Laca, Willian for Willock, Eddie, Pepe is what I expect if we need a goal

Chelsea weren’t much better against Brighton mind you, so pot kettle black and all.

How did your team do tonight Viva mate
Then they want us to bend over for Partey.
Jog on

Torreira is still a valuable asset. Any offer of a loan with an option we should be refusing.

Yeah I agree you shouldn’t take a loan with option, no point, I was just saying the comparison to Partey is two very different situations.
I agree you need to get Cash or keep Torreria.

Has Herrera even been linked with a team?

Tough one really I'm not convinced and it looked like Saka's foot it the ground rather than significant player contact
Look awkward but Saka losing his footing is probably why it wasn't a pen. If he didn't trip that would have been a pen for sure.
Yep. David Luiz has looked good as well but the rest too passive.
