Maybe if you all weren't such a miserable shower, cared about your community and fixed your tinpot servers in the first place, people wouldn't feel the need to target you with DDS attacks in the first place!!

Ridiculous that a company the size of EA with its turnover can't get this sorted! Two days it's been going on for now!!

They are one of the most hated companies in the World, so it's not surprising.

Really, force? How? What's the threat? "You won't get this colorful card if you don't do it?" Really?
FIFA, like every other online game, tries to keep people engaged. But whining about 'addiction' & 'force' is ludicrous. This isn't a drug, there's no substance involved. It's not even real gambling. There's literally thousands of other games out there that will give you similar 'addiction' elements cheaper & probably better. I really don't get that "they made me do it" attitude.

The problem is EA breed addiction in people. 30 games in weekend league. 28 friendlies to get a 100k pack. They make people bonkers look at the rages streamers go on when they lose. The game is toxic. They force you down routes they want you to go down. What’s the point building a team if you’ve got to play 30 games with some team they specify to do objectives, most of the Fifa player base is addicted, that’s why they get away with it all the time.

You can always just not buy the next installment. I haven't bought the last two - 19 & 20 - and still play 17 and 18, building up my squad. It sucks playing Squad Battles and Divisions, and having no objectives/content, but it beats spending time and money on this rubbish every 12 months.

I'm curious, what's in packs - all the special cards or just the regular ones? And do you find it easy to find games?

So many base gold cards I got to appreciate while unlocking those objectives that otherwise woulda been discarded.
It's not all that bad. The community is as much to blame

I'm not a psychologist, but I'm almost sure that addictions can be also triggered without the presence of a physical substance. Everyone has different mind sets. Some people can stay away from the game by pure willing, but some people don't. Some people can be addicted of collecting cards, while others can be addicted to the rush of joy they get while scoring a screamer or winning a tight game. Heck, of course this game can be addictive, and a lot of others games too. Videogames in general can be addictive. Refusing to see that scenario is pure blindness.

I’m not saying they force people, but I do know a bit about addiction (specifically gambling but the same principles apply to all forms) Nobody is forced to place their first bet or have their first drink, nobody intends to get addicted to those things.
EA in Fifa, Dangle carrots for people, they push boundaries, slowly make SBC rewards untradeable without any communication, they give you guaranteed SBCs where 99% of the time you get the bare minimum back. There is minimal difference to buying Fifa points than there is to gambling, the only difference is every reputable gambling company in the world has blocks and checks and balances you can put in place to help yourself. EA have nothing, they’re 100% should be an option to turn off purchasing Fifa points. There should also be a cooling off option where you can block yourself from the game for a day or a week.

They make a big deal about a partnership with CALM but they give nothing to their player base, the servers go down for seven hours and there is no communication from their main social media accounts other than a “some users are experiencing difficulty”.

The reason the community people were hounded off Twitter is because they create addicts and leave them hanging all the time, they give nothing back.

Absolutely. Gambling addiction is very real, and there's no substance involved.
I just don't get this very specific addiction to this one, specific game mode. I think gambling addicts usually aren't addicted to a very specific type of game, ie. a certain machine in a certain casino lol. FUT 'addicts' seem to me like people that complain about that certain machine in that certain casino, while keeping going back to it daily; while there's literally thousands of other casinos & machines around.
I'm not saying it's not real, I'm just saying I don't get it. Maybe I should just shut up & read up on gambling addiction though...

A lot of time gambling addicts mainly use one product or bet on one sport.
People spend £20 on an ultimate pack because they think they might get Ronaldo or Messi, no one buys packs for Ever Banega.
