Doesn't work for me on PS4 either, fake cross / fake shot. Neither stop the AI. Only on Beginner does the AI stand off. On any other difficulty they tackle me.

I've tried it twice now and it's not working. I keep getting tackled on semi pro and professional..
Fyi I've done this before on numerous occasions. On professional and world class.
I find theres certain parts of the pitch this works and now and again they will take the ball but just ping the ball over to the other side of the pitch where there's space and do it again. I done all the objectives last night using this so it definitely works.
Start an attack to get the AI back in their half, pass back to LB/RB cross the halfway line do a fake shot making sure the other team have no players in your half behind the player with the ball, job done

Thats exactly how it works. Also it helps to have your lb/rb on stay back, so they are in enough empty space when you pass to them
(im sure when its worked for me ive had to do both)
(and personally, ive only managed to get it to work against cr4p opponents...I can get it on wc/leg against bronze / silver .........but not on semi pro against 85s)

Where about on pitch you doing it and have you tried it now.. not yesterday or few days ago
Did it about an hour ago, for multiple matches. For me it only works reliably if you do it just past the halfway line. Will post a short video of it
Perhaps no video evidence? At this point we're pretty much asking EA to patch it.
I am sure EA is aware of the glitch, given how often its talked about here and on reddit

Try sprinting, doing the fake shot and then letting go of your controller, I just did it in legendary and semi pro. Works fine

Yeah, I can't get it to work consistently on Xbox either
It works perfectly in some games, then in others the CB makes the tackle 20+ minutes after the fake shot or doesn't work at all
