I currently start with this:

9851866-D-EDFF-4-BEF-BAA5-34-D9-A81018-AA.png

And then switch to this with tactics in game:

D4-CFAC1-D-B767-4424-8292-789-A6-D0-DCD8-B.png

Probably have 1.5 mil if I sell my TP, which can be done easily.

Untradeables: Nesta, Roberto Carlos

Not getting rid of: Carlos Alberto, Semedo, Vieira, Neymar

My thoughts:

I was planning to replace Sissoko with Scream Firmino and let that be my team. Now I’m having second thoughts. 800k is a lot for a CM, and would he really be worth it over other options? I could plug in any French, Brazilian, or Ligue 1 player. Allan? Pogba? Kante? Would they provide similar production for much less?

And if I do one of those, then what? I honestly really like Bale as my other CM. Messi has been my best scorer, but he hasn’t felt quite as good lately. Best scores a ton but also frustrates me a lot. Should I ship him off and buy Cruyff? Should I save up for TOTY Messi? Should I save up for someone like Pele or Eusebio?

Opinions are welcome and greatly appreciated!

Yeahhhh I’ve regretted that one but didn’t have this team at the time. How much was he?

Don’t they make old SBC’s available again at some point?

Yeah, that would have been the way to go, but alas, I did not do him.

So what’s the move? Maybe we get a futmas player that’s worthwhile? Seedorf at CM? I’m not sure what to do.

    Bump.

Any opinions on Allan/Pogba/Kante/Matuidi/other French, Brazilian, or Ligue 1 cheap players?

Any opinion on the above guys vs Scream Firmino, from a value/return standpoint?

Any opinion on sticking with Sissoko and upgrading elsewhere?

Thanks m8. Not many responses so I just went ahead and bought Scream Firmino. He typically dips to 750k during the day and goes back up above 800k at night, so I shouldn't lose coins regardless.

Bumping this thread because I need help. I just had my best WL finish, but my team felt pretty "meh" the entire time, despite being the best team I've used all year. I just feel lost. So I'm going to type out a ton of information in multiple posts and see if anyone wants to help me upgrade with the 2m I have. Here's the team I used:

    38119-F69-EC61-4705-BA0-A-867-D1557-F6-FF.png

Results (29 Games, some results not recorded):

    Goals:

    Messi - 16
    Cruyff - 24
    Neymar - 21
    Gullit - 6
    Kante - 3
    Tonali - 3

    Assists:

    Messi - 14
    Cruyff - 11
    Neymar - 7
    Gullit - 6
    Kante - 6
    Tonali - 7
    Zanetti - 3
    RC - 3

    MOTM (or highest rated):

    Messi - 6
    Cruyff - 6
    Neymar - 4
    Gullit - 3
    Kante - 4
    RC - 1

    Player Reviews:

TOTGS Messi (Hawk) - Honestly didn't feel or play much different than the NIF. Statistically, he's worse for me, though that may be due to this team being more balanced and not needing to rely on him as much. It was laughable how many times defenders ran him down after he was behind them. His finesse is still wicked, and his passing is sublime, but this is the first time I've considered moving a way from Messi since getting his NIF a while back.

NIF Neymar (Deadeye) - Not nearly as effective at Left Striker as he was at CAM in my last team. Still very good though. Has a very unique shot and scores a lot of goals. Misses his fair few as well though. At times, I missed having that pure burner in the left striker spot. Used 88 Best (hunter) previously, and he had a knack for just outrunning everyone.

91 Cruyff (Hawk) - Never "felt" that great, but the results speak for themselves. Highest goal scorer and 2nd highest assists, as noted above. That said, I do think I play through my CAM quite a bit, which leads to more goals and assists. Neymar showed similar results when I had him at CAM previously. Cruyff makes a TON of good runs, and his passing is very good. His finishing leaves something to be desired. He would score some nice goals, but there were a number he missed that Messi would have finished.

90 Gullit (Shadow, then Deadeye) - I don't think he's worth 4m. I would sell him if there was an alternative that was similar, but I don't think there is. He's very good, as you'd expect. I loved his passing, and his shot was nasty once I put Deadeye on him. I found myself wishing he was a bit faster or turned a bit smoother at times, but he got the job done. Pretty good at holding the ball, though I honestly expected a bit more there.

TOTY Kante (Basic) - I love his pace. I love that he's everywhere on the pitch. I love that, even in poor gameplay, he's one of the few players that still runs and turns smoothly. I loved his passing for the first 25 games, but it was really bad in the last 5, for some reason. He had the worst pass of my FIFA 20 career at one point. He inexplicably missed Zanetti streaking up the line, and it led to a goal the other way. Atrocious. His defending is very good, and he's a menace for opponents. The biggest head scratcher for me was his workrates. I found myself having to drag him back into defense constantly. Still not really sure why that kept happening, but it was a nuisance. I'm leaning towards keeping him, though I really liked 88 Vieira as well. If you want to compare the two, I'd say Kante is much better going forward and starting the attack. He's also better at winning the ball from attackers, though I think Vieira is better at intercepting. Vieira also alters the way your opponent players more because he's so massive. Kante is more under the radar.

86 RC (Sentinel) - It's time for this guy to go. Having Zanetti has shown me how poor RC is going forward, and I swear he doesn't have the pace his card claims.

RTTF Militao (Anchor) - He was solid. Very good even. On the same level as 87 Carlos Alberto, though I'm not sure I'd take either one over the other.

Prime Zanetti (Shadow) - Loved using him this weekend. He was very good for me going forward and distributed the ball well. He also tracked back very well with a Shadow card on him. No real complaints about this guy.

With all that said, anyone have suggestions for improving my team with 2m? I felt my team lacked pace in the attack and lacked a true "finisher" (Messi just didn't seem like that guy this weekend).

I was originally thinking about upgrading Cruyff to TOTY Mbappe and moving Neymar back to CAM. I'd be 500k or so short but should make that pretty quickly trading. Would he be worth it? Or would an 89 Eusebio be just as good? Eusebio's passing is the only thing that concerns me.

I've thought about using the 2m to upgrade Roberto Carlos at LB and Tonali to TOTY Frenkie, though I've seen a decent amount of negative feedback about Frenkie.

I've thought about replacing Gullit with TOTY Frenkie to free up an additional 2.5ish million coins to upgrade other positions. Would the drop off be super significant and noticeable?

I've also considered selling Messi, Neymar, Cruyff, Gullit, and TOTY Kante, and just go for something new entirely.

I appreciate any feedback anyone is willing to give. @JuliantbX

Honestly, I would probably just sell your whole team and quit. If 96 Messi doesn't feel like a "finisher " to you than there's probably little hope.

His NIF honestly felt more clinical and got more involved. Had a goal a game with him for nearly 200 games a while back. But again, I don’t know if I was forcing play through him because the surrounding team wasn’t as good.

Also, i finished gold 1, so it’s not like I’m saying they all suck. Just not what I expected.

Honestly, if I were you I would replace Messi with Draymond Green. It's evident now as they excel without Steph, Klay, and KD that he truly is a Top 10 player in the league. With that kind of talent, I'd give him a chance at striker.

Every one of my top 3 got hawked repeatedly after playing them through behind a defender. I don't remember a single time one of them took a pass behind the defender and made it all the way for a shot on goal without getting caught by a significantly slower defender. Meanwhile, people had Werner, Aubameyang, and Mbappe outrunning my RTTF Militao somewhat regularly.

They’re all very solid from a pace perspective, but there are upgrades out there.

He will be 30 in less than 2 months. Yes. I am saying 30 years old is not a basketball player’s prime. Most b-ball players are better from ages 25-27 (3-5 years ago for Green) than they are at age 30, especially when they’re game is predicated on being high energy and physical. Not to mention the number of playoff games he’s added on top of his normal number of seasons.

Wasn’t this whole Draymond Green conversation based around the Steph Curry argument? Or am I misremembering?

You're right, I cannot help but notice how much slower and less athletic the other top 10 players in the league have gotten since eclipsing the 30 year mark. Russel Westbrook, for instance, has become incredibly sluggish. I mean can he even dunk anymore?

I thought we were talking about players’ primes. Do you think 30 is a basketball player’s prime vs 25 or 27? It’s a pretty straightforward question

If you’re going to make an idiotic 1 to 1 comparison, at least use a player who plays a similar position and style to Green. Comparing him to a freak athlete like Russ doesn’t help your stance.

And you didn’t answer my last question. Wasn’t my whole point From back then that Steph had a ton of help around him? Didn’t he lose in the finals last year after Durant went down? I feel like you latched on to the Draymond Green piece, but the initial discussion was about Steph.
