thats a huge blow if hes not fit i guess we could open with denly but would prefer playing crawley and not adjusting the line up too much.

100% agree. Crawley in if Burns is out. But hopefully he is fit so the change doesn't have to be made.

The one selection that I don't get is Bess because Parkinson and Leach are both listed as substitute fielders and we heard that everyone is supposed to be fit again so why not play one of your two first choice spinners brought on tour?

Edit: Leach is not fully fit, so it's just Parkinson for the above point

Bess can bat and Parkinson got smashed all over the place in the warm ups

Ah I didnt know that about the warm up games - hopefully he gets another chance again soon because he's going to be a great bowler imo.

Regardless, hopefully Bess does well. Its a good point about his batting tbf, he did well when he got some chances in an England shirt a while back

Root needs to calm down here

He is playing too many shots

How many times does he need to walk off cursing himself before he learns

Denly though is the opposite, has got stuck in a hole

    It inevitably happens

Big drive at a ball not full enough and he Knicks behind

    Luckily it is dropped

Come on joe, play for the team

@Reus Do you remember we had a discussion in here one test a while back how it was clearly recognisable that Burns had been working on the short ball in between tests to address the weakness in his old game?

Well, in the same vein, could you see some improvement from Sibley in his off-side game in his innings today? To me it definitely looks like he's been working on it. Obviously he needs to continue that but it's a good sign to me that he looks like he's actively working on it

Oh I'm not disputing that in the slightest, but when we've seen people like Bairstow who adamantly refuse to work on addressing the flaws in their technique, it looks like Sibley is actively trying to work on his. It's a start.
