Scoring from corners- impossible

Why’s this so hard all of a sudden. I’m all for reducing the frequency of headed goals from corners to a realistic level but it’s pointless having a corner. Even if I win a header it’s usually headed well over.

Needs tweaking...corners are too under-powered. Same for the CPU, they can’t seem to get anything from them either.

It’s not realistic.

Agee with you 100%. Probably over 100 online corners (for and against me) and haven’t scored a header or conceded one. That’s so unrealistic. I was never a good soccer player but if I somehow get thrown into the bpl and if I just close my eyes and jump. I think I will probably score 1 goal out of 100 corners from just cheer luck. That will never happen in this fifa.

Headers don't work and I find it thoroughly unsatisfying. Crossing in from a corner is utterly pointless as is crossing in from the wing. You simply can't connect with the ball and when you do, which for me is about once in 50-70 attempts, then it will likely do something stupid. It nullifies a huge part of the game, which is set pieces. The only time I can connect a header is when there is no other player anywhere near my player which is rare and again, it will do something stupid. Frankly, the way it is now is absurd. I don't expect to score header after header but one should be able to work a set-piece and create an opportunity during a 20-minute match. The way it works at the moment then corner kicks may as well be cut scenes.

There are few more satisfying goals than a well-placed cross which connects with a glorious power header. Just not in this game. In over 60 twenty minute matches I reckon I have scored 1 header. I have probably connected with the ball from a corner 5 or 6 times.

And before the same old boring parrots chime in with "I'm glad they nerfed headers" I say, utter pish! There is making them less effective and there is removing them almost entirely and they have removed them almost entirely and that is s**t. Football ain't football without them. What on earth is the point in me having wingers to burst down the wing with good crossing stats if it is almost always futile. Balance is the word and this ain't balanced.

Everyone you see tells you just to take settings all the way down for corners. That way you at least have some people back and always play short. It’s not worth taking it regularly. Honestly this needed to be addressed before it came out but instead we got the crap that is volta.

I score about 1 out of every 4 corners, about the same as I got with headers in previous games, I call a second player, run around my marker, or just make a space and shoot into the crowd, the weird thing is, it only ever goes in cleanly, never off a deflection, but very often off the post.

The other weird thing is that although it is probably more because of my own actions that I have scored than it used to be with headers, it gives me much less satisfaction to score, because it's an obvious ploy that wouldn't continually work more than once in real life.

I don't know whether people have found the same issue generally, or if it's something to do with my edited 433 with 2 CAM's.

I've scored a fair few, I play manual controls which may or may not have an impact. I don't have too specific a formula, but I tend to aim into space, places where there are no players allowing my players to battle for that space. It's difficult to explain but at that point you have a moment where you can move your player & try to cut in front of them, once ready to jump/head stop trying to move your player & focus on the aiming, I've found having the analog stick not fully committed to a direction often leaves me with a header that floats silly high & wide so I started committing to pushing it fully in a direction I want to aim & have had more success with headers in general since then.

I haven't really counted to get an idea of how many I've scored or what ratio, but it's enough that I feel confident I have a chance from a corner which ultimately is what I'd like. I've seen quite a few people talk about having a lot of success from free kicks this year, it's something I've not been able to do as well, I've scored none, pretty bad at them despite some practice, yet crossing/headers & corners I've picked up well & have scored plenty. Seems to be one of those things.

I’ll give that a try. One thing I would say is when I aim for a space the keeper will come out and claim it/punch it!

I practically never aim inside the six yard box, it doesn't guarantee the GK won't come & get it but generally it helps. Also I didn't mention, in case it does matter, the power I generally use on corners is two bars & a bit, that bit seems to be important, just at or below two bars seems to see them win headers more or the GK has it, I think it's because the pace of the ball is slower.

Even if the corner is well placed and you have an almost free header they just don't connect with the ball properly anyway so it's pretty hard to score.

Purchased game the day it came out. No scoring from corner in my career mode yet. CPU, yes...me, no. Fifa 20...patched up fifa 19 with a few fixes and a few new problems. Same crap, different toilet.
