Career mode is too easy,I'm enjoying the game play overall but I'm hammering everyone,I have it on ultimate level too, anyone have this problem??
Yep I’m playing on ultimate difficulty as Manchester United and have barley made any changes to my team. I’ve already won the league and I’m 31 points ahead of the next team and it’s early-mid April. I haven’t lost a single match in any competition. My biggest win was 8-0 over Liverpool and ya I made sure they played their strongest side. It’s not fun at all. Just play it when I have nothing else to do now. Just awful and depressing.
What's most frustrating is how challenging Squad Battles is. Playing on World Class in Squad Battles is often harder than Ultimate in CM. We should be demanding the same from CM.
In last year's beta forum, we had a long post going about how easy CM is, and someone from EA said they'd "look at it." Truth is though, they just don't give a care about CM or its gameplay.
But everyone who's frustrated with how easy it is should be demanding that they give us the same challenge that's in Squad Battles.
Full manual controls?? explain more my friend,is it true if you change the the settings to World class its harder that Ultimate
Playing full Manuel makes it harder but not because the CPU is better but because the games makes you worse. The CPU still doesn’t press you when they need a goal or anything like that. It just makes you give the ball away more and your shots go everywhere.

A bit harsh on those of us who play manual, it's not so much the CPU makes us give the ball away, it's more that the CPU is no longer doing all the perfect passing/shooting for us. Pressing X/A won't guarantee perfect power & placement for a pass, it requires actually gauging what kind of power needs to be on a pass, what weight, what modifier, there is error due to passing stats, etc. however that's to be expected & applies also to auto passing.
It simplifies it a little to just say "makes CPU screw you more", it's more like, it requires you to actually practice & get used to some of the mechanics in the game, it also makes it a little bit more unpredictable, screwing up is more likely your own fault than the CPU's fault. I personally find it more rewarding and less frustrating when it's a bit more in my control. The game still has it's moment minds you, but what game doesn't.

I think everything you just said is absolutely correct and wasn’t meant to come down on those playing in Manuel mode. Hell I respect it because you do have to adjust and be more precise with everything you do. My point is that it doesn’t fix how easy the CPU is. Whether you master how to play on manual or not you still have to face the same problems with the game. It’s so easy to carve apart the CPU. I actually played about a month on manual and just personally didn’t like it but the CPU scored one goal on my in 7 games with ultimate difficulty. I think my point and @scottykul point is that there is never any threat from the CPU. It doesn’t play like it should or even has in past FIFA games whether you’re on manual or not.

Fair enough, I get it's not to everyone taste, manual does take time, it does take more precision, some don't have the time, others prefer a more casual game, etc. Clearly there is a problem as this isn't the first thread that said it's too easy on ultimate. For me so far it's been hitting the sweet spot, it's challenging enough so I'm not bored, but not frustratingly difficult either. I've been playing mainly Squad Battles however as I'm waiting for CM to be patched properly... I hear they are slightly more difficult? I'm unsure. However all said, if I were finding it too easy to win, then yes no matter how good the game-play I'd also be getting bored just as you are, so I sympathise with that especially when there is nothing more you can really do to make the game challenging enough for you to enjoy it, well except state your case on a forum & hope the devs hear your plea. So good luck, hopefully any changes will benefit all of us.

I’m happy for/jealous of people who find the difficulty challenging. And this isn’t me trying to say I’m just such a good player it’s so easy for me blah blah blah. I’ve heard some people who don’t use manual say ultimate is very challenging and others like me say it’s not. And ya I’m a career mode only type guy so it’s just a current state of depression on that front. I can’t really play anything until the difficulty gets fixed so hey fingers crossed
Thanks for all the feedback it really helps, like my friend above I only play CM and it's what I need a challenge in,is there an update due soon??and will it be included in my current CM or will I have to restart one??
Thanks for all the feedback it really helps, like my friend above I only play CM and it's what I need a challenge in,is there an update due soon??and will it be included in my current CM or will I have to restart one??
There probably won’t be an update for a while. And even if there is....there’s no telling what they will even try to fix. There are so many problems with CM that the difficulty might be somewhere around 50th on their list of priorities. And if they do fix some things, there are some that will allow you to carry on in your current CM and some that you will have to restart. For example, in fifa 19 they fixed the fixture congestion around March but if you wanted that update you had to restart a new career mode. I was already 9 years in so obviously there’s no point in restarting and you just have to live with it.
Thanks my man for the feedback, please keep in touch and let me know if you hear anything,I'm really enjoying CM I'm AC and I've got a good squad that's very realistic but it's too easy, also before I forget in the pre match interview, the reporter keeps telling me that I haven't lost a match all season and how long will it go on for???But I have lost a match 😂😂😂also is it trough if you change your settings to a lower difficulty for some strange reason it's harder??
Some people claim World Class is more difficult than Ultimate or Legendary, I'm not sure how true it is, it's possible that it's just different, so for a short while it is more difficult until they adapt? I'm not sure, I guess try it, I mean if it's already easy & there's no challenge, you don't really have anything to lose by trying a game or two on a lower difficulty just to see.

Yes I lowered it to legendary to try it out and it was more difficult. Not to the point where I was in any real danger of losing or anything like that but at least made it more enjoyable. I was hoping it was just a bug in the ‘ultimate difficulty’ setting. Maybe that’s the case maybe it’s not. I haven’t tried world class but I will now. We’re gonna have to find a way to make it more challenging ourselves. Whether that’s on other difficulties or messing with the sliders. If EA fixes it then great but we can’t count on that.

And ya the pre match post match interviews are a joke. I really like the idea in concept but it’s currently broken. You can’t answer questions truthfully because any negative answer might get you fired as ridiculous as that sounds.
I think the gameplay is actually reasonable but the defending is bad, but worst of all is the mechanics controlling things like simmed games morale and potential - that stuff is completely out of control, making a mockery of a career mode.

I HIGHLY recommend playing on full manual. I get what you're saying, technically speaking, playing on full manual setting is affecting the user's players and not the CPU's. Keep in mind, by forcing you to aim and control your passes/shots, you will have to slow down how you play, and inevitably you will make more mistakes than on full auto assisted. This will lead to the CPU having more possession and chances to score. Even still, they don't always do anything with those chances, so I know what you meant there. Personally, I lower the CPU's shot error and passing error sliders, while at the same time increasing their defensive marking and goalkeeping ability. I find that by tweaking those settings, along with full manual, you will find a nice give and take of difficulty and reward. Let me know what you think.
Full manual controls?? explain more my friend,is it true if you change the the settings to World class its harder that Ultimate
If you go to the settings you will see there are options for passing, through balls, shooting, crossing, etc. FIFA comes stock with the settings on assisted in order to help the casual gamer. Meaning, the computer will literally redirect the aim of your passes and adjust the power as well. By changing these setting from assisted to manual, you will now be responsible for your own aiming and power distribution, etc. That will, in turn, make the game more difficult, while also making it more realistic. I highly recommend trying it, but bare in mind, after years of being used to the cpu assisting you, it takes some time to get used to it on your own.
Thanks everyone for the feedback but I don't really want to go messing with settings because then if I'm playing someone online it will be totally different again!I try it and legendary and it's quite better and a bit more harder but I want to be able to lose a match and not score 4+ goals per game, also Martinez my striker has 22 goals before Christmas,I just bought Traore and his agent was banging on about his clean sheets bonus and he's a striker, also I haven't played a cup match yet,one is due in February!?!that can't be right, also I can't seem to redeem anymore booths and clothing!!I can't even put a scarf on my manger during the snow!!How does one make Hazard/Rooney there manger???I've seen this somewhere,I don't want to do it,just curious, and one last thing I think that transfer from other clubs via CPU are stupid and unrealistic!!!
Thanks everyone for the feedback but I don't really want to go messing with settings because then if I'm playing someone online it will be totally different again!
You literally said you only play CM.
Alternative is just adjust the cpu sliders.
Make them faster, more accurate in passing and shooting etc
Okay definitely do the sliders. I played against SC Freiburg with FC Koln and hammered them. 3 goals in 25 minutes on ultimate.
Then I turned on these sliders:
Sprint - 45/45
►Just to help solidify the foot planting a bit. Can notice on fouls how the feet stay grounded relative to the tackle. (Credit: darroe01, dcg239, FIFA17 OS)
Accel - 50/51
►Slight bump discrepancy for the CPU which will help with those 1v1 challenges. (Credit: FIFA17 OS)
Shot Error - 54/54
►Good variety of shots paired up with the lower shot speed. Elite players will stand out, but also be realistic with pressure to perform. (Credit: jrnlgrn, Aaron458f)
Pass Error - 60/60
►If not raising this value, the CPU just becomes very automatic with their passing. It's a bit mindless at times, and especially at the top of the user's box. Play with a low league team and you will see a significant difference compared to using an elite team.
Shot Speed - 49/49
►Lowered this slightly to help the speed up animations in shots. Makes for some really cool ball flight paired up with the GK ability.
Pass Speed - 42/42
►Lowered this value reluctantly but makes for a really nice flow to the game. Not so low that the players have to constantly run towards the ball either, but enough that it calms things down just a bit. (Credit: dcg239)
Injury Freq - 75/75
►Tested this on my own but with some good guidance by jrn. Felt that we saw a lot of good injuries on contacts that were and weren't fouls. Some blatant ones as well which was nice to see the player get up and argue with the referee. (Credit: jrnlgrn, NorthLdN)
Injury Sev - 20/20
►Solid mix of the types of injuries. From players getting their hand stepped on to your usual shoulder injuries. Mix of walk offs and subs. (Credit: jrnlgrn, NorthLdN)
GK Ability - 48/48
►Just helping a tad bit delayed reaction and not covering so much of the goal. Emphasis to mix the keeper's decisions. (Credit: NorthLdN)
Marking - 70/70
►This was the biggest difference because I was so reluctant to change it, let alone raise it. I've gone from 0 to 85, just completely all over. Finally referred to our older FIFA 17 OS sliders, forget which version, and punched in this value along with a couple others, in particular the HLW.
Run Freq - 1/1
►Enough was enough in resisting us changing this value to the 1/1 that we always do. The higher runs just wasn't working, especially in the user's defensive third where the CPU would tiki-taka + through pass into the box constantly. Plenty of variety, so don't worry there.
Height - 55/55
►Feel good about this because it's the best balance that the CTT's are still honored, but not so high that the midfield is pushed out of position. Defensive third shape, paired up with the Length and Width, is good here.
Length - 45/45
►Checks out as well here because it compresses the shape in the right spots, and the marking pulls players to their assigned zone. In addition the runs into the box are not super deep that the defensive line is compromised to be breached each time. It still happens due to...FIFA 20...but it's not as bad as before.
Width - 58/58
►They key here is just overall width, but most importantly the defensive line separation from eachother to get into that 1v1 position.
FB Pos - 55/55
►Oddly enough, I feel like this value helped significantly in completing the set because it still allows overlap, but not so much that it's over-commited to the point a counter can easily exploit the CBs.
FT Control - 55/55
►This one is key to compliment the pass error and pass speed. It creates some brilliant 50/50 balls of course. (Credit: NorthLdN)
Thanks everyone for the feedback but I don't really want to go messing with settings because then if I'm playing someone online it will be totally different again!

Increase your challenge with full manual controls. Will take some getting used to but it's the better way to play.
