So they recently released title update # 2 notes.
Lo and behold, A MENTION OF CAREER MODE! Let's see what they fixed...
AI fielding weak sides? Nope.
Players losing overall points after editing? Nope.
Players changing position after editing?! Nope.
Champions/Europa league not working after 3 - 4 seasons? Nope. Okay, okay! but surely they must have updated the teams at least! I mean... I can go in and do this basically myself!
Nope...
A schedule congestion issue impacting Calcio B teams? ahhh yes! Exactly what we were all hoping for!
Check it out for yourself here

This is unbelievable... almost comical.

But hey! Check out that long list of fixes for FUT! That's all that matters!!!
Edit: Isn't it actually called Serie B...? Instead of Calcio B? Are these guys even football fans...?

At this point I genuinely think the developers at EA are just taking the p**s out of all of us.
There's a list of well over 20 major bugs in career mode, and THIS is what they address first!?
I'm starting to think that we won't see a working career mode at least until 2021.
btw - I have actually looked at FUT this year (through boredom) and its boring. Once you get a full set of players you need why do you need to bother anymore?
Took me like 4 free packs and two games to get a team that is probably about as good as you are going to get anyway?
Full thread -
Is the team progressing with a patch for any of the bugs?
Can you please tell us something? We have been waiting almost a week now since worldwide launch.
Can you please provide a full list of issues identified for career mode. This way we are able to assist you in getting the remaining issues not listed rather than repeating issues already identified.
Once we have something more to communicate we will.
This post has been really concise for the issues - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Career-Mode-Issues-Megathread/td-p/8244343
Is there any indication at all on how long this will take?
Are we talking days? weeks? months?
I know this is coming from people above you, so there's not much you can do about it, but it might be worth communicating to them that the lack of transparency is actually what is driving a lot of us away.
I'm sure I speak for the majority of the community when I say that I would greatly appreciate some kind of a rough timeframe, even if it ends up being a bit off.
We've had to deal with all of this bull**** so far, so giving us a rough ETA that might end up being wrong is not going to make anything worse.
They dont fix simple errors (that would only take 5-10mins to fix) like the stats for goalkeepers "games without a getting goal" for years that stat is wrong. And as an softwareenginer I can tell you thats something easy to fix if your willing to improve your product (if the opp. does not score, its an game without an goal against you).
if the youtubers stop complaining and still making their usual videos, everything will go back to normal and EA will survive this "sh*t little storm". And we still don't get an working career mode.
I think we have to wait until next month or even worse. I give up, the gameplay currently is boring. I played 6 games so far and most of the players the cpu selected I never hear off. Dortmund is 16th in my league and Oelschägel is the main goal keeper for them (good for him).
The entirety of the game does not make fun anymore.
We as "Beta-Testers" cannot except an ETA on when the next Beta will be released for us to test, get serious we're freaked.
Great, swell. Any chance of an official thread on THIS subforum with the CM issues you are working on and some shot at a timeline? Something to make it more clear here (as opposed to linking Twitter from last week) you are aware and working? Priority fix order, that sort of thing? Maybe there will be less frothing keyboards pounding out words to the vacuum of your forums if you post updates on CM issues in your CM forum?
Finally, why is it so broken in the first place? Did not anyone at all on your staff/team playtest it? Did no one pay attention to the EA INfluencers or whatever you call the gamers who tested it early and submitted feedback?
I get EA doesn't care, FUT is their MTX slot machine (up until more and more countries ban "surprise mechanics") but I'd like to think at least maybe at the Dev level someone in the entire outfit actually cares what state this aspect of the game turns out.
I'd be embarrassed to be associated with anything that turned out this badly.
Whats even more funny is that the career mode build on the beta had none of these issues so how did you mess up so badly? Crazy how you sit there and bull**** everyone who pre ordered your broken game and have the cheek to say "you're working on it for a future title update" have a day off man Andy ahahahahahaha
I know, right. The statements released by EA make it sound like there were a few unforeseen glitches in the game and not the blatant bugs that should have been fixed years ago, and some which they promised were fixed, when they would hAve known that was pure rubbish.
Question is...
Does anyone actually test anything other than FUT on EA these days?
How is it possible that the game was released, as it was, with the extend and variety of bugs and unplayable features thrown in career mode this year?
It's hardly believeable that anyone actually tested it prior to launch. Either that or the testing pool is basically case-study level incompetent.
I was lucky enough to play the beta and the career mode never had this bug with the best players not being selected!
The bugs was graphically which EA patched and the game ran well.
I do not have a clue what has happened from that to release cause it’s a mess and if I knew this back then I would of never paid my hard earned money for this piece of rubbish.
They've never had any intent of fixing it. Year on year the coding errors have mounted up. Along comes fifa 20 and all wilfully ignored errors have accumulated and we get meltdown.
As if ea didn't know this was going to happen. But at least their income stream from FUT is fine.
Don't expect a total fix for cm. At best we will get fudge rather than clotted cream
I would be happy if they fixed the starting line up big & the bug where champions League is non existent after 3 years.
At least it'll be playable after that. I'm still refusing to start a career mode until then
Yeah, I agree. I asked a couple YouTubers why they still uploaded videos for a broken mode, but I haven't heard anything. Each one of them has a career mode is broken video on Monday, but then on Tuesday it's business as usual, smh
Now they dont care anymore to inform use what the fixes in career mode. I just fixed that out by starting a new career.
So perhaps they fixed other stuff as well (i doubt that) but lets keep hoping. Or perhaps we should also stop careing and play something else like Doom or Wolfenstein atleast their we can kill stuff.
They told us when Serie B fixture congestion was fixed so I'm sure they'll inform us when the major problems are sorted
Database updates are separate from title updates. It looks like the latest title update only fixes a couple of things and as it came out so soon after the last one it means it was submitted very soon after the last one, not nearly enough time to add all the fixes for career mode which is obviously a lot.
I know it’s frustrating to have to wait but do you all really want them to rush out a fix? So many people say “don’t you even test this EA?” but when they actually want to take the time to test a patch to make sure it fixes what it’s meant to fix without breaking anything else you’re all “you don’t care, you haven’t fixed it yet” we shouldn’t even be in this situation but we are so we may as well let them try to get it right this time otherwise it’s just be a longer wait until it’s actually playable.
No mate. You dont lie about a product, and then sell said product knowing it's broken. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ has been messed up for over a year now and it's still in the game. You're right on one piece. We shouldn't be here, but we shouldn't lay off of them just to be nice. We've been doing that for about 3 years now.
I am honestly considering giving up on this game, after all these years of loyalty, EA simply seems to not give a flying **** about me or others like me. I dont want to hear excuses from these guys or EA supporters, fix the d*mn mode already, and make sure it works before you release it. This is basically a cash grab that career mode players keep falling for. They pay so much attention to FUT, its so obvious that they put little to no effort into pleasing CM players. This is some BS!
Every year its the same story with this mode. I am fed up and this may very well be the last year for me.
I'm not saying be nice, I'm saying do you want a patch that breaks more stuff & makes career mode unplayable even after a patch? If yes, then demand they get that patch out asap without any testing, but then you're only going to be crying further, it's a pointless circle.
Its not crying, people are here venting their frustrations after years of neglect. This should have been tested and close to perfect prior to release. These MAJOR bugs should ABSOLUTELY not exist after release, ESPECIALLY after years and years of the same issues re-appearing.
EA needs to drop everything and commit serious resources into fixing the career mode, and yes, do it FAST and make it flawless, dont want to hear anyone making up excuses for these guys anymore.
You think I don't know about the frustration? Heck I was here with the old forums back in 2005 & there were the same frustration about bugs even though career mode was a whole lot deeper than it is today, they started from the ground up in 2007 & it truly lacked content back then, Estadio De Las Artes, only the big 5 leagues... I've been here just as long as the rest of you, I'm primarily a career mode only player & I agree that this should not exist after release BUT it does, there isn't any changing that now, FIFA 20 is released & it's a mess.
The problems with career mode seemingly go deep & it's non-trivial to fix, throwing resources at it is all good, but the fact is testing takes time & with each new problem requires another fix & testing from the ground up, at least if they want to release a patch that works properly. Personally I'm of the opinion that I'd like a career mode that works, so I'm willing to give it a bit of time, I respect you want it this moment whether it works or not.
