£5.4M up front for William Saliba. We've had their pants down
Surely it’s still gonna be £30mil or whatever overall?
Overall fee is 30m euro instalments of 6m a year. Being loaned back for this season. Meaning our budget is still majorly untouched.
I can kind of see your point but your hardly pulling their pants down. You still paying €30mil. Not saying it’s bad business at all just fair for both parties especially considering they’re getting him for this season.
So there's a very good chance Arsenal won't be improving on their CBs this summer?
Saliba is one to watch for the future but your defence is need of major surgery right now.
That's a chance we don't bring a new CB in but David Ornstein has come out and said we are in the market for a first team player in this position, I honestly think that will depend on player sales to fund this but there are no big links in player exits yet
Arsenal remain in the market for a player to come straight into the first-team squad in the same position.
Saliba joined Saint-Etienne in 2016 and no announcement on Arsenal's acquisition of the France Under-20 defender is expected for several days while the transfer is finalised.
Arsenal are also pursuing Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, 22, and additionally hope to recruit a central midfielder and winger.
I dont think Maguire is better than Michael Smalling
It's madness. De Ligt would be much the same price
World is lacking world class cbs atm only a few out there
So why not get Dé Ligt?
I mean we're trying to get Zouma for about 30. No way slabhead is 40m better than him
Because as far as wages go, the club are done with throwing money at potential new players above and beyond competitive contracts to convince people to come here. De Ligt would not pick us above the other clubs that are in for him for footballing reasons, so the only way that he would be willing to come here is if we offered a stupid amount more than the other teams in for him. Ole is done with people who are only here for the higher wages, he wants people who actually want to be at the club.

Proper weird, must think there is a lot of money in it.
Not surprised. We were never going to pay that release clause. Bring on Welbeck.

And he is being loaned back for next season?

From Ornstein (in the article about Saliba):
A lot of fans don’t.
Much better imo. More composed and doesn’t lose much in the air.

I'd be delighted with that, but I think he's just signed a new contract? Don't think he's available
Maybe for a higher buy out.
Signing new contracts doesnt mean anything nowadays, didnt Icardi signed a new contract last year aswell?
