    Lahm, Maldini, Cole, Evra

You say complete but Marcelo and Carlos are/were average defensively

    Lahm was a RB.....

Maldini I would class as a CB although he was very solid as a LB too

Marcelo in his prime would walk all over Evra...... Cole deserves a shout but Marcelo is still better

Marcelo "in his prime" still can't defend

Evra was an amazing LB, Cole for me was good. But hyped mire because he's English

Marcelo in his prime wasn't "average" defensively, but definitely not his strongest point for sure

Like I said 50/50 between Marcelo and Roberto Carlos.... both had their traits

but you lot are sleeping on Marcelo

In my opinion Bixente Lizarazu deserves it more then Patrice Evra, comparing the french backs.

Seeing as we’ve still a few players that haven’t got one when they should (from more recentish times) I’ll list them first and a few that 100% should upon retirement:

    Should Already:
    Zidane
    Lahm
    Kaka
    Kahn
    Totti
    Cafu
    Thuram
Pirlo (although that’s understandable given he’s only recently retired)

    Should in the coming years:
    Messi
    Ronaldo
    Xavi
    Iniesta
    Buffon
    Eto’o
    Ibrahimovic
    Drogba
    Cole
    Marcelo
    Chiellini
    Robben
    Ribéry
    Rooney

And finally the great James Milner ;)

Dunno, just don't think he's done as much as others at the very top. Quality player don't get me wrong, but you look at his peers, like Robben, who was instrumental at the world cup for the Dutch, twice.

I also think because he's European he's also less likely, EA seem to like to spread it out around continents. They can't just dump in hundreds of icons, so I think a Tim Cahill, Nakamura, Honda, Marquez are much more likely than Ribery.

I think so anyway. I think the next batches will be from the generation after, so the generation of players listed in the thread. I imagine EA will look at it from a perspective where a high % of their community would love to play with the players they grew up watching, and considering most players are in their 20s.

    Just my hunch though.
