Colledgizi breaks
silence!

By JOSE GAVIRIA

Dareo Colledgizi is a man with a
story to tell. The rookie Argentinian
coach has been in solitude since his
brief spell as coach of Real Betis came
to an abrupt end. Today, the silence
ends.
With an extraordinary honesty,
Colledgizi lays bare the circumstances
surrounding his removal as Head
Coach of the Andalusian club.
To tell a story effectively, you have
to start at the beginning. Colled-
gizi, if you recall, was a left field
appointment by new Betis owner,
Zhang Wei. The Chinese billion-
aire had acquired full control of the
club just a few days before and in-
stalled a managerial team of club leg-
end, Alfonso Perez as Sporting Di-
rector, former Argentinian interna-
tional, Martin Palermo as a consul-
tant and Colledgizi was plucked from
obscurity from Boca Juniors Youth
Coach to manage the side. The news
was at first met with scepticism by
fans and media alike but Colledg-
izi's early work in the transfer mar-
ket had looked promising. However,
five weeks into his tenure, it was over
as quickly as it had started. Just
four weeks before the start of the La
Liga season opener and a day before
they were due to
fly out to France
for a mini pre-season tour, Colledg-
izi's reign was over.
There has been much conjecture
and speculation around the circum-
stances of his departure but to-
day, Colledgizi firmly sets the record
straight. Recalling the fateful day he
was informed that his services were
no longer required, Colledgizi seems
pensive. He states that he arrived
at the training ground, as usual, for
7.30am, ready to prepare a light ses-
sion before they
flew to France. How-
ever, on his arrival he was whisked to
an emergency board meeting where
he was astonished to learn that the
club's new owner, Zhang Wei, had
been detained by Spanish police for
the fraudulent purchase of Real Betis
football club. Wei had falsified cru-
cial documents in order to obtain
the club and his ownership was de-
clared null and void. As a result, the
whole managerial structure was re-
moved and Youth Coach, Pablo Del
Pino was named interim manager.
Colledgizi was devastated, Firstly for
the deception from a man who he
trusted implicitly and, secondly, be-
cause he thought he was assembling
a very competitive squad.
He does, however, have news.
Dareo Colledgizi has a new job. The
club will not be announced for an-
other 24 hours but he does say that
it is a club with 'European pedigree'
and 'not in Spain'.
We will have the second part of
this story in tomorrow's publication
where Colledgizi's next destination
will be revealed, exclusively in Ole.

Following on from our revelation that Dareo Colledgizi will be taking over a club with European pedigree, we want to ask YOU who you think it could be?

I would go for a top team in a smaller league: FC Kopenhagen, FC Basel, Anderlecht, Fenerbahçe, Legia Warsaw. Europa League teams that finally want to create a stunt in the Champions League.

Or local clubs that have fallen: Leeds, Villa, Auxerre, Hamburg or Köln.

Or one of the Red Bull teams; though they have very specific and restricted transfer policy.

Anyhow, 13 suggestions from my end.

    I have a small confession to make :o :#

I have been playing as Samp manager for the last few days but have not found the time to upload. I have recorded all transfers and results and will have screenshots and content from gameweek ten onwards.

    I hope you enjoy!

Dareo Colledgizi was today presented at a press conference at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris by chairman Massimo Ferrera.

The Argentinian coach was attracted by Samp's plan to get back into European football after consecutive tenth place finishes in Serie A. Ferrera said he was attracted by Colledgizi's growing reputation in the game at youth level and his low salary expectations.

The chairman also stated the following were conditions of the appointment -

    - Sampdoria will have a salary cap of £40'000 per week for elite players
    - Transfer fees will not exceed £20m
    - Sales of crucial players will only be sanctioned if the bid is double the players value or more
    - All bids will be considered for players aged 27 or over
    - 75% of signings will be 27 or under
    - Important players will only be sold for the value plus 50% or as part of a swap deal
    - Two players will need to be promoted from the Youth Team each season
    - The club must record a £66m profit in Season One
    - The club must reach European competition by the end of Season Two

I will only be buying and targeting players that I deem as realistic for Sampdoria depending on the progress I make.

As I mentioned earlier, I have played for a few days so although it is a little rushed now the content will be better in a short period of time.

To summarise the transfer window, I was quite pleased to bring in twelve players and let eleven go (four as part of swap deals) and only have a net spend of £1.625m

Four of those players were 27 or over which makes the 75% quota of 27 and under.

    First of all, welcome. :)

Sampdoria is a team I like. Good luck with the story.

Lots of movements in the transfer market, most of them unknown to me, but you definitely changed the face of the team this summer. As you mentioned, Gabbiadini, Candreva and De Paul probably are the most relevant moves.

Willing to see how the team performs.

    Thanks @subpop

I wanted to lower the average age of the squad and improve that attacking positions. To do that I had to sacrifice some valuable players in order to strengthen. I didn't really want to lose Praet but didn't mind allowing Ramirez to leave as he is 28 and I bought De Paul who is 24 for over £5m less. I will probably play a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 so Gabbiadini will compete with Quagliarella for the lone striker slot. I also have Marco Sau who can play as a striker or either side of the attacking three. Duvon Zapata is currently on loan at Atalanta but is worth £10m. I did consider bringing him back but the fee to do that was £2.4m.

So as I mentioned previously, I started with Sampdoria a few days ago so I have played quite a bit of the first season already. I recorded all the results but didn't start screenshotting the progress until Gameweek 10 so I will initially post the first 10 games results and goalscorers and then the screenshots until present day. From then the content will be more detailed featuring line ups, tables, news etc
