I’ll do my write up later. I also nominate @dannyboy.

Re Mourinho; I’ve think United need Brucey maybe with a DoF like VDS (they’d sort it the egos and get the clubs back to its roots - Brucey till the end of the season would be long enough then get a top manager) or more likely Eddie Howe.

In my multi-windows I suddenly find Bayern 3-0 down against MGB!!! :worried:

And Man U is up front in the end.... unbelievable. From 0-2 to 3-2; amazing!

What a come back. That being sad they should’ve never had to score 3 goals late against Newcastle. Wins a win though. Still think Mourinho is gone though

    In general, a sensational Saturday.

Man U's comeback, Bayern losing 0-3, Real Madrid losing and not scoring again.

Are you seriously saying Man United should hire Steven Bruce to the end of the season?

Not entirely. If they sack Mourinho there isn’t really anyone available. Personally I’d like to see Eddie Howe given a chance at a top club but he might not be available mid-season. I don’t think Zidane would go to United either. I could see them in a position where they need to find someone temporary until a permanent manager comes in over the summer.

If they had to do that then they could do a lot worse than Brucey. He knows the club and is a good man manager (he’s always popular with the players). He would be alone as they’d probably give Carrick almost as much responsibility as him.

So rather than saying they should sign him, it’s more a case of who is available as an interim manager.

Really excited to start a new Lille CMS this year, only to abandon it to RL commitments a few weeks (and countless hours spent on graphics) later. Here's to a great year, fellas!

Thought I was the only one like that. Don’t think I’ve ever finished a CMS in ten years of trying. :joy:

Just read through the last few bios which I’d missed. A lot of interesting stories there.

@JoshDFC Sorry to head about the redundancy. Hopefully you find something new soon. Just realised exactly where Droylsden is. I drive quite close to it fairly often but never knew it was there (think I just thought the whole area was Openshaw).

Anyway, now to start writing mine.

First of all sorry for the delay in doing this, I was at a Conference last week and it was pretty hectic.

As you already know I’m Alastair and I’m from Herefordshire (a beautiful county on the England-Wales border).

I first joined the forums back on Valentine’s Day 2009 (FIFA was my true love that year ;)). I was trying to find out how I could have a choice of using my home/away kit for a match on FIFA 09 Wii (sadly I couldn’t). Whilst the impatient younger me was waiting for someone to reply I started looking at other threads in the Career Mode section. I found a great Manchester United story which I was reading for a few days. A couple of days later, after reading that story, I found MaverickZero’s Tottenham Hotspur story. That one blew my mind. The graphics and detail in the story is definitely in the top 3 I’ve ever seen in here. Within days I’d made some graphics in Paint and started my first story, ‘Hereford United - New Heights’.

Since then I’ve never looked back. Through 10 years, 2 forum moves and at least 17 stories (I’ve probably forgotten a few) I’ve had some great times on here. 2012 saw me become a Volunteer Forum Moderator, something which is surprisingly enjoyable (I’d encourage anyone to apply).

Off the forums I’ve always been a big Hereford fan. I’ve seen it all while I’ve been a fan; in 2006 we got promotion back to the Football League after nine years of trying, 2008 saw us go up to League 2, 2009 saw us get relegated to League 2, 2012 saw us relegated to the Conference, April 2014 saw us avoid relegation from the Conference (which would have meant we’d go bust) on the last day of the season after simultaneous goals in the 88th minute of our match and another match (as we were celebrating our goal word came though of their goal). We went into the summer thinking the club would survive the debts and be bought out by the fans.

June 2014 saw the club sold for £2 (the fans bid £1) to someone who voluntarily took a double relegation and proudly told one fan he wanted to build a casino on the ground (he failed the FA ODT 2 months later due to being a convicted criminal). This meant we made the hard decision to boycott our club and force it into liquidation. 19th December 2014 at 4:35pm the high courts wound up Hereford United. Within days we’d reformed as a fans run Hereford FC (in 2020 we can use the name Hereford United again). 2015 saw us restart in the 9th tier and since then 3 back-to-back league titles, 8 trophies and a first ever trip to Wembley have followed.

Away from the forums and football I’m at Uni in Manchester. Currently I’m in the last year of a Medicine degree. I’ll have to start working next year and will hopefully eventually specialise in Rheumatology with a second specialty of Sport and Exercise Medicine. I had wanted to do Elite team care (the likes of PL clubs and Olympic athletes) but I was at the National Sport and Exercise Medicine Conference last week and after talking to some of the leading doctors I’ve realise they end up working 7 days a week and can go months without a day off. Think I’d prefer to have more of a life than that. Now I’m thinking I’ll focus more on Rheumatology and Exercise Medicine. I’ll probably still try and do Hereford and maybe a bit of part time work at an elite level.

There is a lot of rambling there. I don’t have anything like as much as you guys to write about myself so thought I’d give you an insight into my football supporting history.

tl;dr: My name is Alastair and I support Hereford.

I'm not sure which Hereford we will have played in a friendly as it may have been around 2014 when we drew 5-5 with them we're were in the conference north not to long ago but got hit with financial struggles which meant back to back relegations our owner paid the debts rather then reforming as FC Droylsden which is something that we are all proud of

That was Herefraud United you played. We were boycotting by that time (the boycott meant league attendances fell from 3-6000 to 3-600). Think they played Galatasary’s first team at some leisure centre near Leeds the day after they played you (no idea how they conned them into that).

Yeah we wanted to pay it all off as well but sadly the chairman wouldn’t sell to us. Think it wasn’t partly in spite of fans due to banners/singing songs about him murdering our club (in 4 years he took us from mid-table League 2 with 400k in the Bank to £1.3mil in debt staying in the Conference on the last day). After selling the club he was forced to sell his house in Herefordshire and move to Barbados due to the threats (doubt he’ll ever be able to return).

Most of our debts were to HMRC (so I feel less bad about not paying them compared to smaller companies). A lot of local fans/their companies were owed smaller amounts which sadly never got paid. They made the hard decision of getting together and agreeing to issue a joint winding up petition even though they knew they wouldn’t be paid if that happened. The only good thing is the local paper published the names of all the companies affected with the aim of getting them more business to make up for it.

Any news on a new patch? Sound stuttering and (lack of) crowd sounds is becoming irritating.
Sometimes slows down the frame rate of the game as well..., one crash thus far.

Hey guys. Hoping to get my story out the door shortly, but I wanted to get some feedback on training players. One of the objectives is to increase two academy players rating by ten points and play them in ten matches in the season. I kind of view training players too often to increase rating by that much as cheating. In the past, I've limited myself to one training session per game month, which translated to training 5 players in a game month. I feel it's more realistic that players increase their rating by playing matches rather than constantly training them. In order to meet the objective, I would likely have to have a player train a least twice a game month.

I guess I'm asking people's views on training and how often its' done.

I’m not a big fan of training either. What I’ve been doing is only training players to a set rating like 65 or 70 and then stopping. Or even only training them til there 17-18.

I've seen a bit of talk about overtraining resulting in players not reaching their normal stamina so beware of that one.

Have to agree with Dannyboy. That part about the team being bought for £2 is pretty funny. Plus come on @Alastair stick to elite team medicine. You could get us all the signed stuff we could only dream of. Just stay away from Liverpool, don’t trust you Manchester boys to not be sneaky and screw with a truly elite team :D :p

Will do my write up soon today or tomorrow, if you guys are interested to know. Haven't been a regular last few months, but still was lurking here going through few threads when I find some time.
