Got it bud, it's ok, gameplay obviously a lot different from FIFA so need to get used to it. I played Myclub for a while before and the gameplay was trash, hopefully it's been patched since.
Problem now is finding a decent option file and a forum. The PES community has really died off now and pesfan has been down for months now

I'm not a fan of PES 18, tried the free version. Gameplay is too simplistic.
For less than 6 pound you can't really moan about gameplay.. I've put 350+ into fifa and still think it's flawed to hell
I haven't enjoyed PES since PES 15. Fifa 18 is one of the worst Fifa games in the franchise from a gameplay aspect, but I still find it more more enjoyable than PES 18. I usually buy both Fifa, PES, but had enough this year. PES is unplayable at the top level, full of lag cheating muppets. It doesn't have longevity as an online game.
My Club is a watered down experience compared to Fut, while I do enjoy some aspects of My Club, they do certain things better than Fut, like making it a lot easier to build a dream team. The negatives of My Club outweigh the positives. It needs a competitive mode with dedicated servers to stop the cheats and skill based gameplay.
Casual games are a dime a dozen nowadays, they all have one thing in the common, that's their inability to retain a high player base. Dice finally came to their senses, with casual games like BF1, SW Battlefront struggling to retain a high player base. Dice are now taking BFV back to its roots, making the gunplay more skill based.
Look at highly skilled games like Counter Strike, that have been around for 20+ years, they still retain a high player base. It's the hardcore players, known as whales, that dump the most amount of money into microtransactions, take note @EA. Skill based competitive games are the future, for the love of God and stop making Fifa so casual!

That is a statement of the century. Gameplay wise PES is miles ahead of fifa (your tactics actually matter and you can adapt them durring the game - actually shows when you play). Sadly they took a bit too much from fifa (MyClub wise) aswell and some game are going similar route like fifas go, but lets not get into this here.
I mean for the logest time my main stiker in Pes 18 was Mitroglou and he was great infront of goal. Now imagine someone using him in fifa? Not really, right?
I want to give master league a go once the world cup is over. Problem is the game just isn't as smooth for me as FIFA (offline). If anyone can point me in the direction of a good quality option file with up to date squads I'd very much appreciate it

I've started a master league with Roma, not bad so far. Plays nicer than myclub
Playing against the computer is where PES shines, the A.I. is a lot better than Fifa. It's the online portion of PES that is years behind Fifa.
The gameplay is lightyears behind FIFA though, it is not fluid at all. The menus are tragic and the commentary is just awful to listen to! Not ventured online since trying Myclub so can't comment on it. Myclub is the biggest mess of a gamemode I've ever come across.
Still, the full game plays better than the free portion of the game. Playing master league for the nostalgia of the good PES days. I'll be tempted back to the series of they can really bolster the offline modes. Myclub has already been confirmed to be a rip off FUT mode...
FIFA gameplay may have it's niggles but it really is a lot better than PES still (strictly offline anyways)
Took a punt on it (cheap as chips) and trying to figure it out. There is a great gamemode somewhere in that mess called MyClub but struggling to find it. Will plug away some more before going back to Fortnite (Fifa uninstalled a couple of weeks ago)

Just like FIFA with assisted controls, better than FIFA with manual controls.
