SBC's can be a cash machine if you get it right, If you save the players you pack rather than discarding or selling them then MM'S or other sbc's can be very cheap or no cost at all. MM's are weekly and you get 5 packs in total again you have a chance of packing someone.
Investing- Prime sbc's, league sbc's are festive periods if you invest right you can triple your coins

Buying a R9 or ronaldinho in fifa can only be accomplished by 2 kind of people.
1. The lucky ones. People with probably a new account that open a 7.5k pack and there is the mega icon like pele, maradona, R9
2. People that think ahead and invest. Use your money you already have to make more. Don't buy expensive players for your squad, play with a 60/70k squad and invest te rest
Know what kind of SBC's are comming and buy upfront. Let's say you buy 10 IF cooks for 130K today. When there is a BPL IF needed for the POTM next friday you couls easely sell for 20/25K you already made yourself 120k
Same with scream cards. When boosted and there is a good prime icon sbc they raise. Easy profit.
Making money on fifa without spending money is not that hard
I'm sat here thinking how's everyone got millions of coins and buy icons!? I play regularly and done all the sbcs and spend £20 a week on packs but after all that only got 320k in the bank. Surely it's not just from sniping!?
For years I've tried but never managed to buy a Ronaldo or neymar and this year won't be any different. Just after some advice or help to help achieve my aim of a couple of world class players!

How is doing the Petit Monaco SBC for 12k stupid when you get a 45k pack?
How likely are you to get 12k worth of value out of the pack?
You only need one player worth 4-5k to break even. So it's a good chance.

Basically don’t expect profit overnight if you buy something today expect to fully realise the profit within a fortnight (realistic example...there are exceptions to this)

If you bought Salah when he scored the 2 goals for Egypt you could have made 85K after tax.... and then bought him back 5 days after the upgrade for the same price you originally bought him for. You could have done it again when he scored 2 for Liverpool. Popped up to 385-400k, I can get him now for $285-300K.
Hint: He is a fairly good candidate for a TOTGS card as well. If he gets any other IF between now and then, the card might actually set in a new bottom price above 400K because he is quickly moving towards and 87,88,89 rated card.

5/6k + 4/5k =/= 12k. It's at worst 9k and at best 11k. It's also hugely reliant upon luck to get a card that's worth as much as he suggests, especially now. At the beginning for the game, SBCs are comparatively reliable, given that the players are almost invariably worth a lot more than they are at this stage.
He was comparing the value of coinage spent to the cost of the pack in coins if it were available to buy right now. That is not the way to gauge pack value for someone who wants to earn extra coins. It's just a pack gamble, same as buying a pack outright. It's cheaper, sure, but you still need to strike very lucky to get your coins back (which is indicative of just how sh*t packs are in general, really).

Squad fitnesses are cheaper so I've switched from 2 to 1 team and using one every 2/3 games.
Player fitness still sells for 150/200 but you have to relist a lot more and you're better off selling on fri/sat
I've kept all my healing cards except rare gold heal all.
Other than that I still make quality profit by selling the bronzes when usable in SBCs.
Currently on 5.9m transfer profit, though as I said I did put some money in on day 1.
What I would say is that it's been a massive grind, and won't pay out unless you commit 100% to it. It's not for everyone and I probably won't do it next year. Takes up too much time. This year I just want to see how well I can do.

I packed cristiano ronaldo and shevchenko in a matter of a day or two... thats me sorted for the year... diversified and bought a real nice bayern/man u hybrid squad, a bunch of discard ifs, and a bunch of rtg that look promising... still have like 300k
