41212(2), 4312... Narrow formations don't work anymore??
I have always used one of those two formations... and after the patch I have been having a very very hard time using the narrow formations. Are they just not as strong as they used to be?

I'd like my wingers to be really involved and score for me as well. You think 4411 or 4231(2) would be decent for that?
Yep, after playing 20 matches post patch i feel like I need width in attack to get advantage of fullbacks bumping up the pitch
Yep. Players are pressing higher again (because they can't sit back and hold contain for 90 minutes anymore) so width is more important now. I think narrow formations still work but with the recent changes benefit from a more slower style of play because of the lack of width, you need to attack with your full backs more.
I'm having great success with the false 9 formation with quick short passing. I might try out 451 flat next week as I got some good custom tactics for that formation.

Defensive on dpad
They work with every formation, only thing I change is organized in chance creation if its a narrow formation
Yeah I will give them a blast. My defensive settings are similar(ish) 65 - 55 - 45 - C. I always play with crossing on 37 as I think it's perfect for low crosses and cut backs. Shooting I tweak depending on formation. 451 flat, for example, I bump to 66 so midfielders burst into the box more.
I would have thought with those tactics you would be fine with 41212 (2). I played 4312 exclusively last year on possession. Maybe try lowering your speed to around 20 and reduce passing to safe and cage your opponent in their half and have fun watching them defend more manually
I just played 2 matches with 4231(2) and in the last one I created more chances in 10 mins after I switched to 41212 than in all those 110 mins in that game.
So i Used every FIFA formations with wingers. At the Moment 4-3-2-1. My Problem is that sometimes its the perfect Formation and sometimes i Feeling like this Formation is crap. I played with so much different formations succesfull and a Moment later its crap. its mysterious in my opinion how often its Change

I still want to play with 4312 and 41212(2), but after Patch it doesnt work for me, dont know why?
Had been using 41212(2) and never liked 4312 as it's mot as defensively sound, with less width in the mids post patch 4312 is now working for me.
For some reason the midfielders are working better defensively. Better blocking of thorough balls, better tracking back meaning less of a need for a Cdm. fullbacks no staying back actually helps the width.
So far my best Wl eith this formation.
I do use one target mam snd one fast striker though, not all pace.
