Being diplomatic with neighbouring countries and popularity contest.

    Joke of a competition

@Nem And yet Australia will still finish ahead of the UK with our Electro Velvet entry. Play it on repeat and the BBC might have found the answer to destroy the Islamic State.

    Anne Marie-David (Luxembourg 1973)
Brotherhood of Man (United Kingdom 1976)
    Johnny Logan (Ireland 1980 & 1987)
    Nicole (Germany 1982)
    Herreys (Sweden 1984)
    Bobbysocks (Norway 1985)
    Dana International (Israel 1998)
    Olsen Brothers (Denmark 2000)
    Natasha St-Pier (France 2001)
    Rosa López (Spain 2002)
    Lordi (Finland 2006)
    Dima Bilan (Russia 2006 & 2008)
    Loreen (Sweden 2012)
    Emmelie De Forest (Denmark 2013)
    Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014)

    --

Olsen Brothers just finished, forgot how good the song was. Show itself hasn't been brilliant but Graham Norton & Petra Mede have alright chemistry so they're carrying it atm.

'London's hosted the Eurovision four times. If you can name the years, then you're a true ****...sorry!'

Petra should really do the proper thing alongside Norton. She's brilliant.

Just realised that the RTÉ version of this is behind the UK one, sake.

    Dima Bilan is lovely.

Can we just take a minute to recognise just how good the interval act from 2012 was

I was just about to make this but realise @stickey beat me to it. :rage:

This Eurovision is looking like a poor year. My tip is Sweden to win it:

Maybe the left hand side for the UK as well (for some reason Europe seems to like it).

Refusing to hear the songs until the night(s). Seeing Italy and Estonia near the top of the betting lists pleases me though (Italy very strong since return, and always had an unusual soft spot for Estonia, don't ask why).

Hearing that there are a lot (and I mean, a LOT) of ballads does worry me though. Eurovision has been very strong the last couple of years!

Just seen the SF running-orders...I swear Lithuania are the unluckiest nation in Eurovision...always end up going on very early (since 2007: 9th, 5th, 1st, 1st, 4th, 4th, 2nd, 7th, 1st)

I can't see Italy winning personally, simply because their song is not in English. 1998 was the last non-English language song to win.

Oh yes, I stand corrected. 2004 was partly Ukrainian as well. I still don't think Italy will win.

Me and @LeedsLester are really looking forward to watch this, he has already told me his pick for the winner, should be a great watch.
