How do I play with this formation please? Just don't understand how to utilise the wingers as they seem to be anonymous most of the time?

I have had success with 4312 and 41212(2) though so maybe I'm ingrained with these.

Use CM's to build up, ST to drop and CAM overlap, wingers cut in and fullbacks plug gaps
All in all, fantastic play if you adjust with the form

this is a very attacking formation, so make sure you have decent defenders (especially CB's).
u can run down the line with a winger, then cross it or pass diagonal to the CAM or CM.
or u can simply take the ball with your CAM and play a pass or through ball to your 3 forwards

can i see your team for better tips?

Have balanced Cm's and an insanely technical Cam, that's how it works for me.

A good target man striker works well mate

I went back to 433(1) as I found the midfield was just too open. That said, I am finding a pacey front man to be more effective than large target man post patch.

get in behind at most (for the wingers) I don't mess with instructions or custom tactics much. but messi/hazard/tore/nani they always have great records and the key providers. well lately CAM-Striker duo's hvae been doing most of the heavy lifting for me, but still.

1 high/high CM with one specialist (be it defense or passing). defensively it can be exposed at times but still find it the most enjoyable formation to play with.

not obsessed with having a specific type of striker either tbh, can be effective with 81 dybala or tots kane, just gotta play to their strengths.

I'm also finding success with 433(1) now. Key for me is a flat middle 3 that I pass along, waiting for gaps to open up. Key is getting wingers 'cutting in' and 'get in behind'.

I prefer to have an all-rounder as ST (ToTS Kane with Hunter is perfect).

nif Tevez post patch is as much of a wrecking ball now as he was waaaaay back at the start. Haven't used Kane since tots was in packs, but can imagine him being super effective

Wingers on stay forward, cut inside and get in behind. CAM on stay forward, striker on get in behind and press back line, 2 CMs with High/High, now Low/High CBs.

The formation is pure offense anyways, so you have to try and use that, don't drop deep, don't go defensive.

Won my last div 1 season 8-0-0 with my only 2 goals conceded in the last game (thanks Auba for ruining the perfect season)

Thanks all for the advice...played 7 games with it and whilst in most of them I smashed the opponent, in the final of the Futties cup I ended up losing 6-5 against a division 1 player so shows I need a more defensive formation as I'm not good enough when I'm being counter attacked.

Will probably go back to my tried and trusted 4312/41212(2)

I'm so happy everytime I come up against 4312 or 41212 2 with my 433 4 :joy: it's basically a safe win for me, don't know why, but I guess my playstyle fits perfectly for ruining narrow formations.

Which team did you use btw?

I HATE 433. Reminds me of Zdenek Zeman
