Why do you think politics cannot be discussed in a civil manner on an internet forum?
Because nowadays, in the matter of free speech, too much emphasis is placed on the reception of words and the intent is ignored.

What is your favourite dystopian novel?

Pfft, easy. Brave New World obliterates both 1984 and F451.

Who is your favourite anti-hero in classic literature?
Raskolnikov, if he counts. Your answer was wrong, by the way.

Who are your 5 favourite authors?

Fitzgerald, Huxley, Golding, Nabokov and Alan Moore.

    How was my answer wrong?

The Long Walk always had a special place in my heart growing up.

Will the tangible paperbacks eventually peter out, following the increased prevalence of electronic-books?
I hope not & think not, I've read that their sales are rising relative to the original eBook boom.

Do you think that piracy is a moral wrong?

Piracy is not morally wrong. Culture and education should not be commodified in the first place.

What would you do if your wife caught you cheating on her?

    Convince her she is insane.

What would you do if your kids caught you cheating on their mother?
    Convince them she is insane.

Are you hard of hearing lad? Did you not read what Kaede said?

    Ajax away 1988/89.

What would you do if you found your wife cheating on you?

I would shoot her and the man on the spot so that there would be no cool down period and would have a good chance of only serving like 30 days for manslaughter and then some probation.

    Mel Brooks, yes or no?

    70955.gif

    No.

What would you do if you found your wife cheating on you with the family pet?

    1984 is better. :)

The stuff I've read isn't anywhere near diverse enough to be able to sufficiently answer that question. Surely Britain and Russia are up there, though.

How is it better? BNW was way more accurate in its predictions. Its insights are still relevant today. 1984 obviously still holds relevance but not to the same degree.

I was hoping to rustle your feathers as I remember a PM exchange ages ago where you spoke about it, but you responded in a disappointingly calm and thoughtful manner today. I agree that BNW is better, but I have a personal, irrational preference for 1984-maybe because it seems more focused on the inner makeup of one being. It's a bit like knowing that Barcelona is better than Liverpool but still supporting Liverpool.

    Favourite bildungsroman?

I am a much calmer individual these days.

What an odd word. The answer has to be Catcher in the Rye, of course.

Just kidding, that novel blows. To Kill a Mockingbird, I guess.

You can get in trouble for discussing politics my friend. It's frowned upon around these parts. Apparently.
