The Guy was a beast in the 90s and has fallen on hard times due to the political issues in Turkey and his now a Uber driver in US after being stripped off everything in Turkey.

Surely some EA money would go a long way and he's very deserving!

Sukur said.... I have nothing left, Erdogan took everything: my right to liberty, freedom of expression, and right to work.
'I started to receive threats so I moved to the United States. Now I drive for Uber and I sell books.'

Now count the goals he scores outside Turkey. And there is your answer.

I actually work with a lad from Turkey who used to be an old police chief. He got drove out of the country as well and he's one ofnthe nicest guys I've ever met.

As for Hakan Sukur, 100% agree, a deal for him could go a long way

What a player he was was brilliant in turkeys run to the semi final of the world Cup in 2002. I bet most who get into his uber have no idea who's driving them about. Definitely worth a hero card for sure.

What for wanting to better his country? Shevchenko is in politics and so is George Weah.

  • deserves a hero card for sure, it's pathetic to see Turkish football analysts/announcers/journalists act like he didn't exists because of what happened post playing career. whenever they refer to mid 90's-2000's Gala they do their best to not mention his name :joy:

Former Inter player, I'd be down with that

He was a class forward, just picked a losing fight against a corrupt politician and his personal life suffered for it.

Definitely deserves a Hero card, sad to hear he's fallen on hard times.

Not sure how much being a Hero pays, but if it helps him out a little, why not.

I think any payday will help him and his family and considering Turkish Government are trying to pretend he never exsisted.

You'd think someone with his ridiculous talents would have managed to have gotten into coaching. He was an absolute beast of a striker in his day.

And yeah, a hero/icon card would totally be merited.

Don't think he'll get a card just for the political reasons. He is part of the Gülen movement which is a terrorist organisation. (.. since 2016 by the Government of Turkey as FETÖ ("Fethullahist Terrorist Organisation" or, more commonly, "Fethullah Terrorist Organisation..)
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gülen_movement

Don't want to say more political stuff, i mean it's a FIFA forum at the end of the day, but if you just look at his football career than he definitely deserves one. One of the best turkish players of all time.
