Everyone plays it. My champ qualifying games every team played it.

I would like to know some good tactics because my cams so nothing.

    I feel like everyone decent has moved away from 4231 nowadays

    in Elite/Champs/D1 I almost always play against 4222/442 and sometimes 4321 when I check

    anyway I use 352 or 4222 against 4231

    Yep you're right mate. It's the negative nelly formation. Unfortunately the gameplay rewards soak it up and counter tactics so people want the best formation to do that and the 4231 is ideal for it.

    Stay forward on all 3

    Free roam on your best wide AM, stick to position for the CAM and the other wide AM

    LAM/RAM get into the box for crosses

    Narrow width in chance creation

    It’s pretty much try to send someone for a lob. If that doesn’t work slow build up till edge of the box. Do a driven pass now first time shot or do a skill move to get open.

    Have everyone else but the front 4 on stay back while attacking.

    I play 4231 now aswell but been playing 41212 untill pretty much last week. But with all the patches EA keeps releasing you have to adapt

    Why not play 4231 in the 1st place? It's a balanced formation.

    I play 433(4) , everytime I play 4231 I got destroyed

    Played 433-5 exclusively until about a month ago where undroppable untradeables meant 4231 was the only way I could make it work without shoehorning players in. Anyone who has a problem with or feels the need to hide the formation they play on a video game are absolute morons.

    The only reason people stopped playing 4231 is because the pros are slowly stopping to play it, they all seem to be moving to narrow again 41212(2) atleast that's what i saw ALOT in the pro qualifiers just gone

    Play 4321 now. Finally worked out that I have to have 3 in midfield and prefer this formation to any of the 433’s or 4312.

    I rarely face it these days anyway. The YouTube brigade love a good 4321 and 4222 these days. That’s where the kids are at.

    I play 4312. But yes I agree, everyone else plays 4231 and 4222. it's annoying

    I play 4-2-3-1(2) as I prefer the wide players but if it wasn't cut open so easily I'd happily play my favourite 433 formation likely an attacking one but sadly not been relevant since Fifa 19.

    4-2-3-1 me , st stay forward and central , middle cam stay forward , left and right cam , come back on defence , 1xcdm cover centre, cut passing lanes , stay back , other one balanced . left and right back on overlap . works for the way i play, if i need to push then i have a 442 for more wing play if i can not break through with tika taka

    I’m playing 441 with a CF and finding it very fun. Similar to 4231 but more attacking as you have Cms instead of Cdms.
