So, I'm not one for big graphics but I do enjoy career mode and will post my current one here. This one is just a bit of fun nothing realistic as after taking quite a bit of time out of Career Mode I needed a not so intense one to begin so here goes. The frequency of updates will vary. I usually update more at start of a new season then it drifts off until later on unless something big happens. Also doing everything from Mobile so excuse typos and Mark up issues. First few posts will just be a copy and paste from another site I post on

Located in North Wales Wrexham has been playing in The English Football League since 1905 where they joined The Birmingham and District League after leaving The Welsh Senior League. They have won the Welsh Cup a record 23 times and won The Football League Trophy on Welsh Land in 2005 when the final was held at The Millennium Stadium. One of their fondest mentions was beating reigning Champions Arsenal in The FA Cup back in 1992 and FC Porto in The European Cup Winners Cup back in 1984. They were eligible back then from winning The Welsh Cup.

Wrexhams highest ever finish was 15th in the old Second Division now known as The Football League Championship back in 1978-79. Wrexham had finished bottom of the Football League on 3 separate occasions. The first time back in 1966, but they survived as teams were elected in and out of the league back then. Again in 1991, but due to an expansion of The First Division to 22 teams relegation was prevented. However in 2008 they were relegated to The National League.

Things have been tough for Wrexham. They have been thorough Administration, but maybe now things are set to change with their new Hollywood owners.

1_reynolds.jpg

The future is looking bright for this North Welsh Club and the world is taking note. All the camera's are on them as they look to create a new Blockbuster story and embark on a Journey up The English Football Pyramid and burst back into European Football. It has the writings of a Hollywood Movie, fitting for their owners

______________________________

Sat mid table in The National League it was decided within The Wrexham board they needed to make a change if they were to follow their script and reach for the stars in Football. In true Hollywood they tried to get the biggest cast out there, they needed a big name to headline this adventure, but they failed to attract anyone so they held open auctions for The Managers job. What could go wrong? But this is fitting for the fairytale they are trying to create here at Wrexham.

They have gone with an unknown who almost transfromed they're season perfectly however a Playoff final defeat leaves Wrexham in the National League. Devastation, how will the story continue, but wait, there is a twist in this story................

The City of Bristol have thrown a lifeline. The people of spoken amd it turns out they all hate the Gas and stood up just as they been signing at Ashton Gate for decades. Rovers have gone into administration and when The City of Bristol was called upon to help out Rovers, the response was Bristol is Red. Bristol Rovers have been kicked out of the Football League and existence for that matter and Wrexham AFC will take their place within the Football League.
20210929_083556cpSix_display.jpg

The outlook for Wrexham now is very different, returning to the Football League for first time since 2008. The owners have promised to follow this up with a successful sequel this season and have ensured the Manager and Fans they will have finacial backing to make this season a Blockbuster.

4 New Signings Arrive Pre Season

There have been 4 new arrivals so far at Wrexham and its been reported we should expect more to come and go in the near future. As the new season gets underway it was important to strengthen and cement place back in the Football League and from the business already done this window its showing the Owners fully intend in supporting this.

First through the door was Alex Bass, he was brought in for £1million from Portsmouth and its looking likely he'll be going straight in as first choice leaving current Number 1 Robert Lainton stepping aside, what will that mean for the 31 year olds future?

Next we had a big day of arrivals with 3 being announced just hours apart. Not only do these signings signal an improvement in strengthen the squad, but its also a sign that The Manager is planning a change in shape, signing players into positions which would not have been required in formation previously played.

First through the door was experienced Right Midfielder Billy Bodin signed from Oxford United for £1mil+ young Centre Back Ryan Austin. Bringing quality and experience into the squad, the Welshman is surely gonna have an impact

Next up a big statement of intent when the club splashed out on another wide player this time £2.4million for young Welshman Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest. Like Bodin he naturally plays on the right, but both are capable of switching and with our final signing of the day left winger Myles Hippolyte from Scunthorpe for Cleworth and £57,000. Its thought he had been brought in for back up to Bodin and Johnson.

The main question is just how will Wrexham line up against Mansfield on the opening day of the season. The previous 532 formation looks to be dropped, i do expect to see these new signings feature plus Striker Paul Mullin who already took this League by storm previously for Cambridge United bagging over 30 goals in the 2020/21 season

    The Season is Underway

Wrexham begin their campaign back in the Football League away to Mansfield Town. A win was wanted and a win is what they got to make the perfect start, but it wasn't made easy. First off Paul Mullin had a fantastic opposition to open his account for the season as Johnson played the ball across goal, but Mullins touch went off target, he was inside 6 yard box and seemed harder to miss.  He instantly felt the impact of this miss as Mansfield went down the over end and opened up the scoring after 15mins.

Mullin turned provider in the 31st minute setting Hyde up in space, he had a bit of time and fired his shot from the edge of the box to make it 1-1. Then 7 minutes later Johnson crosses the ball into the box where LB Jamie Reckford met it and hit first time on the volley and it flew past the keeper.

Wrexham appeared to have all 3 points wrapped up as Jake Hyde got his 2nd of the match getting passed 2 Defenders and beating the keeper 1 on 1. Wrexham controlled the game after that, but a bit of late lack of concentration had Mansfield pull a goal back in injury time. They had another chance after that, but Alex Bass kept them out.  He was possibly at fault for the first goal and would have been annoyed conceding it  but pulled off some excellent saves in-between the 2 goals.  3-2 away win to begin the season.

Wrexham followed this up with a Home Carabao Cup tie against League 1 MK Dons. Both Brennan Johnson and Paul Mullin opened their accounts for the season either side of 2 MK Dons goals. Wrexham went on to win the Penalty Shootout.

The Red carpet was out ready for the first League Home game of the season against Stevenage. The build up and promoting from the board was immense, plus there was a new signing for everyone to see. Alfie Doughty was the next marquee signing joining from Stoke City for £1.3million. He would have to make do with a place on the bench after on joining 2 days earlier. Everybody ready for a spetical, however like most Movies with a great trailer things fall flat, it was a great game for a neutral, but not a Wrexham fan. After racing into a 2 goal lead inside 15 minutes both goals from Brennan Johnson things fell apart in the 2nd half and Stevenage scored 3 goals to win the game 3-2. Maybe the Manager should've took a chance on the new signing!

    Summer Transfer Window Slams Shut

Its been a mix of results during the first month of the new season,  but as the transfer window closes how have the new signings settled in and we're the right moves made?

Previously mentioning there were some early signings before the season began with Bodin, Johnson and Hippolyte joining the flanks. Wrexham wasn't playing with wide Midfielders before and were relying more on wingback in a back 5. Bodin and Johnson were first choice, both right sided players but Johnson was playing on the left, seemed a strange option being he's right footed and Bodin is a lefty. However since then Bodin has been converted to a LM and has already shown improvement grabbing his first goal against Exeter in spectacular fashion

Brennan Johnson has had a great start at Wrexham, the former Nottingham Forest player bagged 4 goals in 3 games, but its not just his goals, his workrate has been magnificent and providing countless opportunities. He doesn't have any assists to his name yet, but he's often played a big part in goals scored.

    881da30d1daa4ee6ad4a7365f1479364RDaID_display.png

We also saw Alex Bass join from Portsmouth and after a shake start he is enjoying some good form keeping 2 clean sheets in a row and even in the games where goals were conceded he has still pulled off some great saves

    d7b741dcbdb04347a0eb03e8f050fcc4TWp8T_display.png

These signings were soon joined by Alfie Doughty and Luke Jephcott being the most recent.  Doughty has slotted into the back 4 comfortably at LB whilst Jephcott hasn't had an opportunity yet. He was brought to boost the attack along with Paul Mullin who himself has finally opened his League account and scoring in back to back games, however Jake Hyde has found form and its keeping the new man out of the starting XI. Hyde is currently top scorer with 4 goals scoring a brace against Mansfield and Barrow,  but also leads the way on assists so far. He's certainly not ready to give up his No.9 shirt just yet.

    20210930_142400yAAWw_display.png

Despite the shakey start Wrexham sit in 7th on 9 points but only 1 point behind leaders Bradford City and the rest of the top 6 as all are on 10 points

    143b1fa1f833492ca260dcb7df0221deNbjr7_display.png

Recent away wins against Exeter and Barrow have helped lift them there, here is to hoping the can win a league match at home. Next up is 8th placed Crawley.

Superstitious Fans Call For Manager To Scrap His New Look

"Doesn't matter how you score a goal just as long as it goes in the back of the net" - Paul Mullin Wrexham AFC

End of August form looked to continue as Wrexham thrashed Crawley Town 5-0 in their next game. A Hat Trick for Mullin and a debut for Luke Jephcott where with his first touch of the ball in Wrexham colours created a goal

Despite this things must be tough on Jephcott. He was brought in under the assumption of first team football and Jake Hyde expected to be warming the bench, but how can you bench these stats?

    20210930_192831vPjnX_display.png

After this things started to go wrong,  it didn't seem like it at first, but it was a knock on affect. Firstly the Wrexham Manager decided to ditch the tracksuit and change into a suit (i usually do this when setting up career, but forgot) since the tidy look on the touchline its been messy on the pitch.

After dominating Hartlepool and another goal from Jake Hyde the team threw away the win with some sloppy defending and almost lost the game, but it finished 1-1. Next up was struggling Leyton Orient where Wrexham had to come from behind twice to salvage a draw which in fairness they did not deserve, it gets worse.

Next up a trip to Walsall, the team was terrible and might as well not turned up. 3-0 down inside half an hour. The defence was torn apart. If the defence hadn't made it hard enough in the 61st minute Captain Ben Tozer gets himself a straight red card. Not to be out done by his captain 6 minutes later Alfie Doughty decided to pick up his 2nd Yellow Card of the game. I think Walsall went easy on us after that as they only added one more goal.

After keeping 3 clean sheets in a row then conceding 7 in 3 games Alex Bass is probably been our best player in those games otherwise it could've been a lot more the 7 goals conceded.

So, will the manager revert back to his previous imagine? Or will he prove there is no need to be superstitious?

Anyone doing a career with this club and not calling it "It's Always Sunny in Wrexham" should be thrown in prison, but I digress.

Great story so far. Hyde looks like a central figure going forward.

He's been a surprise hit so far, as for long term I don't expect him to have a huge impact as he is 31.

Wrexham Board Furious With Welsh FA

After Wrexhams terrible result against Walsall they needed and much improved result against Swindon Town, there are no Second Takes. Pre season Swindon were one of the favourites for promotion, they are currently struggling and lay 1 spot above the relegation zone. This is either the game they really needed for a confidence boost or really put them in a rut. Thankfully Wrexham came out firing taking a 3 goal lead into Half Time through Hyde, Mullin and former Swindon Town lad Billy BodinMullin added another as well as Redmond making it 5 before Swindon got an injury time consolation goal.

From bottom to top,  Carlisle leading the table were the next to come to Wrexham in the league after a convincing win away to Bradford in the Papa John's Trophy. However this was already going to be a challenging game in more ways than one, as well.as Carlisle's form Wrexham would be without not 1, but 2 players who were called up to The Welsh National Squad. Bodin and Johnson.

Already weakend matters were made worse by Referee Trevor Kettle. He awarded Carlisle a Penalty in the 3rd minute and a case of double jeopardy he sent off Aaron Hayden

    [yt]

Down to 10 men and only 4 minutes played a stroke of luck occurred when Lewis Alessandra blasted the penalty over the bar. An on the spot decision from The Manager at he decides to take off inform striker Jake Hyde and replace him with a Defenders.  Pessimistic maybe, but the right decision as Carlisle were like Sharks circling their prey. It almost paid off,  but Jordan Gibson put Carlisle in front in the 73rd minute.  They nearly made it 2 instantly after,  but another fine game and save from Alex Bass.

All seemed lost, but in the final 6 minutes Hippolyte broke free on a counter attack curled a ball in and found Kwame Thomas to equalise for Wrexham.  Everyone was behind the ball after that to see out the final few minutes and hold on to this well deserved point

Was waiting to see how long someone would take to do a career on this team, good luck. Not a bad start at all to League 2 football, top 7! Without a doubt the highest scoring team in the league, the entertainers.

I also expected this to be a popular choice. I wanted to start with some fun and not so serious. Usually I do a slow build RTGs, but didn't wanna get straight into one because I kinda lost interest in CM last year not because was bad, just needed a break. Plus I might be upgrading so again didn't wanna start long career and not be able to carry it on

Its been a funny ole season so far in League 2. A mixed batch of results for Wrexham,  but not only them as surprisingly they are topping the league after 19 games in a very close looking Promotion race.

After a run of 4 straight wins including a Papa John's Trophy victory pver League 1 Sheffield Wednesday things came to an abrupt end after getting thumped 5-1 at home by Northampton. November has proven to be a tough month on and off the pitch for Wrexham and its certainly giving off soap opera vibes.

    20211003_1932320hgEj_display.png

The 5-1 thumping was again not helped with the absence of 2 key player's who were again away on International Duty proving The Wrexham board may havento invest in cover, if they were not sure before they defiantly are now as it appears Billy Bodin who just joined at beginning of the season shall be departing when the January Transfer window opens. Despite his great performances he claims his "Head isn't in it" and wishes to leave Wrexham. He'll be departing on loan for the remainder of the season with a buy option included.

Fans are a little confused and thought he was happy and settling. What that means for now and til January we will wonder, its perfect timing that Myles Hippolyte has found some form as i expect he'll be called upon at least til then with Bodin not likely to feature unless necessary.

The hottest young prospect in America since Freddy Adu shines on Wrexham Debut. Wayne Wood a 17 year old wonderkid from the States who joined Wrexham Youth ranks in the summer got his first taste of first team football in The Papa John's Trophy and scored the winning goal.

Wayne Woods family and agent wanted to learn from Freddy Adu's downfall and they felt the best way to do that was get him somewhere where he wouldn't be the main focus and media in his face. Its believed he could've made an impact in The MLS, but they didn't wanna force that hand too early. Luckily for them they have Hollywood connections and what better idea than to send him somewhere that has home connections whilst able to learn and develop more whilst keeping a level head. Big things are expected from Wood and this late winner against Sheffield Wednesday shows what Wrexham fans are in for

How far can he go with Wrexham before other sides come to poach him for their own. Its believed he's been tracked by various top clubs around Europe before he joined up with the League 2 side

Before promoting him he had 83-91 potentially. Was my plan before starting to have an American Youth sensation at the club. Also hoping for a Welsh one, but 5 months of scouting and I could potentially leave The Welsh National Team spoilt for choice in the goalkeeper department 🤣

As "An Exciting Prospect" he'll have an 86 potential at least and a maximum of 90. For now. If he gets regular game time for Wrexham, his potential could easily rise next season to somewhere in the 90's.

December's has been a poor month made worse with a Boxing Day defeat to strugglers Sutton United. Wrexham are still very much in the running,  but the current lack of depth in wide positions and issues with Billy Bodin have proven difficult. They advent wasted any time, a new signing will appear on January 1st as Courtney Senior will be arriving from Newport County. Senior has been on Wrexham's radar since the summer and now was as good a time as any to make a more.  Maybe had they made the decision then, they  wouldn't be in position are now. It's believed Wrexham wanted to make an approach for Ruel Sotiriou of Leyton Orient. They tried in the Summer, but met with the same response of refusal due to their lack of depth.  Where will Wrexham look next?

    Robert Lewandoski Wins Ballon D'or

    292dca5f0ed644da9de8af3ab71c97f4SviyN_display.png

Among the December disappointment we also saw Wrexham eliminated from the Papa John's Trophy,  some may have seen it as a blessing on disguise, but the board we're looking at a prospect of winning it this season and next season as they march up the Football League and never play in the competition again.  They can dream. On a positive note they did overcome Morecombe in The FA Cup 2nd Round and have been rewarded with a 3rd Round home tie against Championship side Birmingham City. They would have hoped for a Premier League side I'm sure, but Wrexham may fancy their chances at an upset here.

The biggest surprise to come out of December was for Wrexham to take part in a 0-0 draw, something we never expected and even more surprising is Alex Bass is leading the clean sheet chart currently with 7. Meanwhile Paul Mullins form has had him leading most goal contributions after 20 games. Altho still in the mix Jake Hyde's early season form has taken a dip, but still leads the League 2 assists chart.

    5 Star Wrexham Stun Birmingham

The FA Cup 3rd round is often the most entertaining round as its where the upsets happen and this tie didn't disappoint. Championship side Birmingham City travelled across the border to Wrexham and found themselves in an early lead and control of this Cup tie. However after 20 minutes the Birmingham Keeper gifted Brennan Johnson with a terrible and he took advantage and put it in the top corner.

With things looking better for Wrexham they played with a lot more confidence, but that was dented when Iavn Sanchez could 2 goals in 5 minutes for Birmingham giving them a 3-1 lead. They were cruising into Half Time, but from nothing Wrexham pulled a goal back through who else? Paul Mullin he rallied up the crowd and everyone went into the break feeling better.

The 2nd half was very even and it came at no surprise when Paul Mullin leveled for the hosts with his 2nd goal of the match. This gave Wrexham so much confidence, if you didn't know any better you'd think they were the Championship Side. Birmingham could not contain them and then with just 10 minutes to go Wrexham got into their opponents box again and what can only be described as a lucky scuff from Jordan Davies which resulted in a 4-3 lead.

This broke Birmingham, they came forward, but Wrexham had an answer they couldn't get a shot off and then the inevitable, Paul Mullin completed his hat trick against a broken Birmingham giving Wrexham a 5-3 victory. What a game, the romance of the cup is far from over. They await their 4th round opponents most likely hoping for Premier League opposition and maybe this is the result they needed to turn their league form around

Sounds like a very entertaining FA Cup game, well done on beating a Championship team and now I'm sure the Wrexham journey will be one to watch, would love a good FA Cup run

Cup Run a Distraction For Wrexham?

Its been another difficult month for the ambitions Welsh Club.  After beating Birmingham City in the FA Cup 3rd round attention must have been on 4th round opponents Premier League side Burnley.

The team that turned up to play Hartlepool must have still been hungover for the cup triumph as it was a very lacklustre display and yet Wrexham managed to take the lead. Unfortunately for them this woke up Hartlepool who replied with 3 goals. Next up was bottom of the table Barrow. A good chance to get back to winning ways whilst also scouting Robbie Gotts even further as he is on Wrexhams Radar. It was a less than convincing display from Wrexham eventually winning 2-0 with goals from new signing Joel Randall and Jordan Jones

3 New Signings Join During January

With the departure of Billy Bodin Wrexham had to strengthen in those areas again.  Firstly bringing in the previously mentioned Courtney Senior from Newport County.  Next through the door was LM Joel Randall signed from Peterborough and a name that has already been mentioned,  Wrexham got their man CAM former Leeds United Youth Academy Robbie Gotts from Barrow. Hopefully this will be the reinforcements needed to push for Promotion.

    Wrexham Drop Outside The Playoffs

    5e4291b8e2814f8c8feba276b89a394dBRVGB_display.png

We already know its been a dissapointing month which ended in another 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Walsall.

    January
FL2 Leyton Orient 0-2 Wrexham (Johnson, Jephcott)
FAC Wrexham 5-3 Birmingham (Johnson, Mullin 3, Davies)
FL2 Wrexham 1-3 Hartlepool (Johnson) Hosannah Yellow Card
    FL2 Wrexham 2-0 Barrow (Randall, J.Jones)
FL2 Wrexham 1-3 Walsall (J Jones) Davies Yellow Card
    8
    FA Cup Exit

Premier League side Burnley were just too much for League 2 Wrexham. Dominant from the start and always in control Burnley took a 3-0 lead at HT. The scoreline kept down thanks to Alex Bass. Wrexham put up a fight in the 2nd half and even got a goal back with Courtney Senior getting his first for the club. Other than some late pressure the game belonged to Burnley who kept their cool and saw out a 3-1 win. A good effort from Wrexham, but some say this could be their saving grace as its only promotion to focus on now

    New Assist Leader

Jordan Davies has been one of the unsung heros this season nothing glamorous, but always there almost James Milner like, now he takes his places as the club and league top Assister. In fact Wrexham have the top 3, despite falling out of favour Jake Hyde is still 2nd whilst Paul Mullin is 3rd

Is there a Sequel in the making?

February has been a much better month for Wrexham, possibly one of their better runs of the season wining 5 from 6 games

    February
FL2 Sutton 1-2 Wrexham (Mullin, Wood) Tozer, Hayden Yellow Card
FL2 Oldham 1-2 Wrexham (Mullin, Jephcott)
    FL2 Wrexham 3-2 Mansfield (Johnson 2, Randall)
    FL2 Swindon 0-4 Wrexham (Johnson 3, Mullin)
FL2 Stevenage 1-2 Wrexham (Mullin, Wood)
FL2 Wrexham 2-3 Exeter (Davies, Wood)

This has left them in a much better position and on target for Top 3 finish and Promotion. Can they keep it up?

One of the highlights of the month has been Brennan Johnson,  its been reported that there are many clubs interested in signing The Welsh Winger during the next transfer window. Since taking the 2 Division drop after signing from Nottingham Forest he has proven he is streets ahead of League 2 and maybe this was the stepping stone he needed.  But, could get stay if Wrexham get promoted? I'm sure regardless they won't let him go without a fight, but everyone has a price. When question about it Brennan Johnson just had this to say "I just wanna play Football" take that as you like.

He is not alone in the shop window,  I believe many people are hoping Wrexham fail in their bid for promotion as their squad will be easy pickings. Paul Mullin who once again is leading scorer in League 2 just as he was with Colchester few seasons ago. The young American Star Wayne Wood is also already attracting interest and Goalkeeper Alex Bass

    20211014_004735UU4eh_display.png

Despite the recent good form there has been some unrest within the squad. A few individuals not happy with their squad role.  Luke Jephcott was initially signed under the impression of being a first team regular, but with the early season form from Jake Hyde, Jephcott was left out,  when given an opportunity he failed to deliver as expected and now 17 year old Wayne Wood seems to be preferable.  It took 15 Appearances for Jephcott to register his first League goal.

Not only that captain Ben Tozer expressed concern at the club's lack of ambition and the squad are wondering what's going to be done about it. (Sound familiar @JustinCase) despite the position Wrexham are in The Boards objective of reaching last 16 of FA Cup seemed a bit excessive,  but seems to have affected Morale and Manager rating. Could this be a problem for the Wrexham Boss?

Hopefully the unrest doesn't scuttle the team's promotion aspiration. Glad to see Wayne Wood is getting his opportunities. Got a great promotional idea: put "Wood Could" on the back of his jersey...er, maybe not. :p

Shame about the cup defeat, Burnley can always be a tough side but especially for a lower league side.

Good to see the results pick up and back into the top 3. End of the season is approaching need a decent end. I'd like to see you get automatic

Yeah, was hoping to get one more round in the Cup, thought of all the Premier League sides Burnley was one we had a chance of upsetting. Wasn't meant to be
