Hey anyone who wants to read this,

I have played FIFA consistently since FIFA 2002 (got it bundled with my brand new PS2, to give you an idea of how old I am) and have been a regular on UT since its inception in 2009, but this is one of the first time I feel like the game may be passing me by as it feels like an arcade game rather than a sports simulation,

now this has been happening gradually for years especially FIFA 20 but a lot of the major problems carry over to fifa 21 such as high agility and balance with 4/5* skill and WF being the "meta" meaning you spend every week playing against wave after wave of Rashford, Son and worst of all Allan Saint-Maximin, with Joe Gomez and Varane at CB, with many of the players playing the exact same style of constant drag backs, fake shots. trick stick mashing and for some reason an inexplicable amount of rainbow flicks,

The Stress alone isn't only attributed to a toxic non footballing style but with the baffling decision to limit Rivals to 30 games (which I was fine with) then tie the WL points to the same 30 game limit meaning if you want to get rank 1 you have to play several Rivals games on Thursdays before you even start the absolute hell that is WL, but because everyone is trying to get rivals points people will play as dirty as they can as they need the points creating yet another toxic environment.

These two points along with the update limiting how yellow/red cards are distributed meaning people can maliciously take you out and receive little negatives from it, which has incentivised people to play in the most toxic way possible

I just wanted to do this post to write down A) what I dislike and B ) put down my suggestions of how future FIFAs can be improved to at least limit stress of the game

1) Change the Rivals/ Weekend League points, to allow you to be able to play matches during the week, this can be done in several ways, 1) choose wether you want your weekend league matches to count towards your rivals score, 2) Move Reward day from Thursdays to Monday's, this would allow people to space out the games and I personally think enjoy the game more

2) add a stamina cost to skill moves, while I understand skill is a part of football, realistically it is used sparingly as players would get tired if they do it in all match, this NEEDS to be reflected in game, I'm fine with it being in game but people need to tire to allow players to use skill in appropriate situations rather than any time someone gets the ball.

3) Co-op needs to be available in FUT Live Friendlies, genuinely not sure why it isn't, and I think there should be a CO-OP WL, half the rewards if you like, but I personally find CO-OP more fun, all of the above problems still exist but at least you don't suffer alone

4) For the love of god, if you want to keep objectives in fut live friendlies, MAKE LOAN CARDS USE MATCHES, trying to do literally hundred of matches with a awful defence against loan mbappe adds another stress that doesn't need to be there1

anyway these are just a few thoughts, I use video games especially fifa as an escape for my disability but I am finding all of these stresses are becoming too much and ruining a game I love

Also I am very aware about the mocking/hateful messages this post may receive but if you agree or even if if you don't and are respectful about it I'd love to hear about it

Thanks, many including I agree w most of your frustrations...

Whats the documentation in the limiting yellows & reds? For me the utter nonesense tackles and fouls and junk physicality makes the game seem unfair, arbitrary and disgusting... refs are in a game to not be arbitrary, to keep the game with in the rails, and To basically prevent cheating which fouling and junk tackles really is if refs don’t call it fairly or accurately — This game reflects nhl but without the fighting — there should be a cost to peeps repeat tackles, tackling from behind...and particularly when I or an opponent is losing, the refs let anything go which is absurd....

This is the lowest i have played in any fifa. The delay is the killer for me. Its so harsh this year one sided games are so obvious for all to see. U could play out delayed games slowly in other fifa but not this one. Haven’t dont a single player objective this year and only play WL. Quit and gave away 10 games in my first 15 games this weekend. I just cant handle this years delay man.

I'm completely with you here. I work all week and I feel like it's a grind to get my 30 games of weekend league, especially, if I'm meeting meta gamestyle after meta gamestyle. I find myself losing simply due to boredom than most things and I'm new to Ultimate Team. I was a very good player back in the day but the more they started coding it to make it easier to meta, I moved solely to career mode.

Stamina needs looking at majorly. My defenders always lose stamina before attackers and that makes no sense. If anything, attackers should go down first leaving defenders to be able to cope for the long haul

    3) Co-op needs to be available in FUT Live Friendlies, genuinely not sure why it isn't, and I think there should be a CO-OP WL, half the rewards if you like, but I personally find CO-OP more fun, all of the above problems still exist but at least you don't suffer alone

This is the sole reason I came back to it. I enjoy opening packs and looking at playing with icons as that is what draws me to ultimate team but as soon as Co-Op was introduced, me and my friend were like, let's give it a go. As soon as we qualified for WL, we realised it was now pointless as a Co-Op. I'm fully with the idea of a Co-Op weekend league.

I kind of two ideas of how to do it. Separate it, have one Co-Op and one Solo. You can join both or just join one. I'd be happy just joining the Co-Op if I'm honest. You could also have a solo team but also a Co-Op team you create so all rewards go to the Co-Op and not to be used as a Solo. Any which way, they look at it. I'm happy because like you, I actually enjoy the game as a Co-Op as I know if I go to tackle, I am confident that my teammate behind me can cut off the danger if I lose out. Makes the game more realistic too, i.e. less in sync, can control defending a little better with 2 of you, but also due to not being in sync can fail dramatically but as you said, you're in it together which makes it less infuriating

    4) For the love of god, if you want to keep objectives in fut live friendlies, MAKE LOAN CARDS USE MATCHES, trying to do literally hundred of matches with a awful defence against loan mbappe adds another stress that doesn't need to be there1

Agree here too. I'm saving loan players for objectives but either loan players don't exist on the game or they use up matches. Whether, you can add a 7-day usage on them, as soon as you use them once

This is addiction, there’s nothing else to understand. Why do people go to casinos? For that rush even though they know they’ll probably lose.

Yeah, Thursday and Friday rival games are rough, but I do like that we have them to “our ourselves”, w/o Weekend leaguers, Sat-Wed, and they spend Mon-Wed dropping down and friendlies. At least it’s predictable.

I think a lot of people would simply because they might think that it is the players' fault when some things go wrong, a lot would not be reading here or reddit to suspect anything is wrong with the game itself.

I bought FP once last year before I had began reading the forums here but have not and will not do that anymore simply because individual players within a category are not equally available within the announced probability and that is probability is a lawyer's speak (which means Lying while telling a truth).
    ---
I agree with the OP points, I would like to add that Skill point ranges need to be bigger with a higher ceiling than the 2300 that exists now even if that meant more divisions.

Also, while the refereeing is a travesty, imagine if the game counted yellows and red within a WL weekend separately from any other competitive mode (in fact, imagine if the same happened in a Rivals' week) to be cumulative the same way they are in real life Seasons and UCL/Europa/WC

Couldn't of said it any better. The whole concept of a football game has disappeared and its not like you say limited to players only using certain players. I miss the days of futmas carrol and been able to build up play or play defensive

Agree with this post so much in many places.
I've played fifa since its first incarnation on the sega mega drive in early 92. Played every other version that came out and when UT was introduced I originally loved the idea.

Playing FUT has indeed introduced a new element of toxic online players with their comments either on the headset or post game comments. People who would never raise their voice face to face with many of their opponents in real life so why is this even a given any time? There's a big difference between having a respectful banter and just calling your opponent the worst for losing their game.

    Anyhoo

Point 2 I love. I've seen too many people do skills and not lose stamina, and even when they do some are still as strong as they were at Kick off. If stamina is reduced to below the red line, this player should not be able to function at any ability, its a farce having someone with about 1% stamina do overheads after running 80 yards without pulling a hamstring. Also the strength of lower stamina players should be shown as much, not a continuous strong man competition.

Fifa needs a serious overall of ideas and gaming devs. This current version has turned into fifa 20 so fast its not even funny.

Its allowing games to be based on the team.you e built, not the actual knowledge or game skill you have as a gamer.

I've been beaten by lesser teams that have played brilliantly and they usually msg after to say they had a great game win or lose, these other players. Just want to seem to hate. These people don't understand mental health issues and how close to home they could be. Gaming needs a change top to bottom.

    I think there’s 2 problems to this

    1) is youtubers, I don’t think they help in this situation what do ever. For example they have spent millions of £/$ on the game to do pack openings and will sometimes only show good packs which for younger kids who don’t understand they will think they can get them easily too because of how the youtubers edit out the bad packs

    2) people think that If they’re team is playing awfully and they have no coins they’ll whip on a tenner to try and get some good pack luck

It’s sad if it’s that way and shouldn’t be like that, I loved the gameplay at the start of fifa 21 but unfortunately has gone downhill since, I wish ea listened to us as fans and players about what we enjoyed about this firstly before they patched it heavily instead of seeing us as talking wallets.

Definitely agree with what you're saying, the FUT friendlies especially, I'm really not sure why you can't play Live FUT Friendlies online and grind objectives with friends.

I can't see how that would be a negative, the whole loan card thing as well is a bit ridiculous, for me I've been enjoying the Silver Lounge mode but the other one people just bring on loan Mbappe every time against my 77 rated CB :D

The skill moves draining more stamina is a good idea as well, now I don't use skill moves often but I do throw in the occasional stepover, ball roll etc but when people chain them all game it gets a bit silly. As much as people say "get good and learn how to defend against them", it's not even a case of that, a lot of the time you can read the skill but the lag/delay makes it impossible to turn in time, or the ball just bounces back to them after you tackle them.

In my opinion the biggest issue is that FIFA has lost it's fun factor, I'm all for being competitive and I aim to win each game of course but even when I win some games it's just draining or I think that wasn't fun at all. You see no variation in teams anymore like you say, formation change in game to 4-2-3-1 and the back line like 90% of people have Ferland Mendy, Varane, Gomez, Semedo and Alisson. It makes me wonder why people are so bothered over Champs and Rivals rewards when they will play those same players regardless for months on end.

I do still enjoy playing FIFA even though it's nowhere near the game it used to be but it just has become quite repetitive, if there was some changes to Co-op like you say that would definitely make it more fun and I'd even like to see restrictions on squads for the Weekend League requirements but with it being a competitive mode it's unlikely unfortunately!

Pretty much spot on and I agree with all.

If people want change, they need to stop spending money on packs! Why would EA bother to fix things when 90% will still buy packs?

People whinge and moan about the game but will happily spend 10x the value of the game on packs.

Pace is all that matters, apparently on defense aswell as Papu Gomez can sprint around making perfect tackles all game from all sorts of crazy angles manhandling players over 6 ft. There's no balance, no options on how to play the way you want to without getting crushed by one meta tactic every time.
