FUT Draft (aka IF Ronaldo mode)

The main gripe I have with draft atm is that literally everyone has an IF Ronaldo, isn't it supposed to be a varied choice of players?
I've played against him practically every game and one of my mates has even had him 5 times in a row as a captain. Draft maybe needs adjusting a little so the pool of players is a little more random because at the minute it seems too common for people to have Ronaldo/Messi/Neymar floating around.

let's say they don't give messi and ronaldo, you know how much stupid little kids will cry because they spent 300 fp or 15k and got let's say silver players ?
every 2nd thread will be crying, like that same about the gameplay

Agreed, but thats the reason kids want to play it really, to use cards they never would get to otherwise.

With the current bench structure (where you pretty much get 90% gold rares), there's no incentive for people to use the 1/2 silver players they draft. The only way you will see a bit more variety is if there is a genuine mix of player quality across the whole draft, ie. maybe the max player quality of the bench is silver?

The thing is, people tend to forego chemistry links if it means they get to use the likes of IF Ronaldo, and can you blame them?

You can look at draft in two ways...I was hoping to see squad variety where you'd only draft 5/6 golds, thus your starting XI would be filled with silvers/bronzes alongside golds. I have nothing against marquee players being drafted, but it'd be nice to see a balance where say, if you draft someone like IF Ronaldo, you draft less gold cards overall? Or, the silver/bronze cards you draft will link to your marquee player, whereas the other gold cards won't - again, forcing people to make the choice between chemistry vs player quality.

The other way of looking at draft is as a portal for people to try the marquee players of the game within a star studded squad - something they may never have gotten the chance to do without draft mode.

As I said before, a balance between the two would be nice...drafting the likes of IF Ronaldo should still be an option, but in return the rest of your squad may be lower quality, etc.

Just my two cents.

The whole point is to be able to use the best players in the game... What if you just played 5 first time FUT draft players in a row? I'd want to use IF Ronaldo as well if it was my first time!!!!

EDIT: Plus he's so easy to defend against, if you can't handle it on draft then play seasons and stop moaning.

Really? He steams through any defender and if you cut in its insta goal if you finese it in the corner, well that's what I do anyway.

When I first heard abo'ut draft, I thought all the teams would be a mix of gold silver and bronze.

Sadly, I was so wrong, and the mode is so repetitive because of it...

what your asking is unfair, ronaldo and messi are two of five possible captains

the fact you keep seeing them means that people obviously want to and are enjoying using them, otherwise they would pick the other captains that are there, theres no real reason to just 'take that away'

but i do get what you mean, playing against them all the time will make things very repetitive, but FIFA is repetitive in one way or another, if it wasnt ronaldo/messi, it would ALWAYS be the highest rated option given to people

They need to put Suarez/Robben/Ibra/Hazard/Neymar more as captains, my first draft when the game came out, every single team had IF Ronaldo.

I agree, i get the option to use Ronaldo basically every draft, but i've have the option to use Suarez once, Ibra 0 times, Bale 0 times, thats in about 15 draft entries at least.
