Whilst Coutinho has been good of late and Fabregas has been average at best, Fabregas was so brilliant from August till December that he should be in almost by default. Pretty sure Coutinho struggled till around Christmas time when Rodgers reshaped the team.

Quite a few of those players have only played well in one half of the year. Harry Kane brace. Give it to him before he rejoins Leicester in the Championship in a few seasons.

Cazorla has been consistently good all season.

    Coutinho...
  • How do they get chosen? Is it a vote from fans, players/managers or something else?

Why the hate for Cuteinho? Best attacking mid in the league, easily.

****, don't know why but I was so sure he'd be on there that I assumed he was nominated, just checked again and he's not 70955.gif

He flatters to deceive far, far too frequently. Statistically he is absolutely shocking considering he is the creative hub of his team, and rather recently looked lost against superior midfielders in the Arsenal and Manchester United matches. He is a fantastic talent no doubt, but he is not one of the very best players in the league.

Coutinho above Cazorla. wow. POTS will go to Hazard without doubt, although I think Sanchez and Kane are more deserving. Kane has the easiest YPOTY win you will ever see, and he's English so it's a guarantee

Why without doubt? Hazard has been as patchy as the likes of Alexis, Kane etc... De Gea has probably been the most consistent on that list but then made two blunders two weeks running and is also a goalkeeper so it's unlikely he'll win it.

His statistics are what's deceiving. Liverpool didn't have a top finisher the entire season. Put him in our team instead of Fat Götze and he'd be considered a world beater. He has it all.

Shame keepers dont get enough credit. De gea has been one of the most consistently good to great players in the league. Not just saying that as a united fan either.

Coutinho is way down in 38th place on the list of 'chances created', on that count with 1.5 a game. That's staggeringly bad. You can't blame **** finishers for that.

It's who everyone is voting for, and who the media are citing as the best player. Plus he's been the stand out performer in the title winning side. I'd be very, very surprised if he didn't win it. De Gea has been fantastic and deserves his nomination but he would have to do something incredibly special to win it as a goalkeeper, rightly so IMO. Would probably require Man United to win the title, keep the most clean sheets and have no other stand out performers.

    Where is this from?

According to squawka, Coutinho created 42 chances this season as opposed to Götze's 32. And Götze has started almost every game for a far superior side.
