Italy! Love it! I struggle to play in Italy myself, due to the licensing issues, but I'm happy for someone else to do it, and I look forward to see what you come up with. I have no knowledge of neither this club nor any of the players, so this might even be a learning opportunity for me... Nice graphic setup too, the colours seem to match the logo perfectly. Good luck mate. Playoff final in 2021, then dropping to 11th in 2022. Interesting to see how 2023 will go down...

Thanks mate! had a little break from career mode after the Norwich career. Italy has such a nice culture and lot's of passion in the field of football, i love it too.
I think I will be having a hard time with the club. The squad is the worst in Serie B and there is nearly any talented young players to build with. The club will need a strong rebuild to compete for the Serie A spot.
Looking forward to this. I've done Italy in the past but found it a bit challenging because of the "missing" clubs.
I think you're going to have to wait out 2023 and then see what turns up in the freebies market at the start of the next year. Maybe also start scouting for academy players...?

Yeah, looks like it. Salvi being the only one above 70 OVR, and he's 34. It looks like a homogeneous side though, with most reserves being quite similar to the starters in terms of OVR and value. And with a lot short and expiring contracts, especially in defence.

Thanks mate! Yes this is the squad I will start the season with - I have one youth academy scout and italy - hopefully he will find couple of core players for the upcoming seasons.
Let's see how the season starts and let's adjust to that.

Yes it really feels like a balanced squad. I think there will be quite much rotation in the first half of the season and let's see how the core of the team is formed in the end.
I think i will need to make quite many agreements with the players with an expiring contracts - the clubs finances are so poor that I cannot afford to lose lots of players with a free transfers.
Actually a decent start, the first 3-4 games, then a drop of form since then. No surprise to see Genoa and Parma top the table, IMO easily the most recognizable club names in the division, along with Cagliari...
Typical FIFA, beating promotion favourites Genoa and knocking Seria A's Salernitana out of the cup, only to see the majority of the other results being under par. January's up shortly, a chance for the manager to boost a position or two. Any positions identified to be in need of strengthening at this point?

It's a difficult situation. More than half of the games played and we are in the bottom part of the table - but still only 7 points from the play-off spots. So are we still going to push and hunt for that play-off spot or is it time to start thinking the next season?
I have a bunch of +26 year old strikers and everyone of them has struggled this season so there might be some moves to be done with that situation. Defense has been in a kind of trouble too so I might need one strong CB too.
End of the line in the cup, but building a nice 11-game undefeated run in the league, even beating top of the table Cagliari along the way. Brilliant development for Cittadella, and crowning this great run with a 5-1 win vs Benevento, it doesn't get any better than that.
I like the new signings, a freebie, some finds and loans from other Italian clubs, and one brought in from Norway. Seems pretty accurate to how such a club would conduct their business in real life... Well done mate...
Only 3 points from Bari, as we speak, sitting in a play-off spot. Do six clubs really qualify for that? Do you know how it works? I'm not sure what I think of the 3rd place and 8th place being given more or less the same chance to qualify for a promotion, to be honest. But it does work to your advantage, if you only need to reach the 8th place to be granted this opportunity.

Thank you! I've struggled with the formation without any wingers but it's starting to look better with some tweaking i've made.
I like to try to keep thing realistic as possible - still haven't decided the "strategy" what this club is going to be in the future. Do I want to build the club to future success or am I just going to develop players for the bigger clubs..
I actually had to google the system, its pretty complicated. I have no clue how it works in FIFA though.
"The top two teams are automatically promoted. If the 3rd-placed team is 10 or more points ahead of the 4th-placed team, it is automatically promoted too, otherwise a playoff tournament determines the third team that will be promoing in the 2013–14 season, anywhere between two and six teams within a "playoff margin" of 14 points from the 3rd-placed team will enter the playoff tournament. Under the new playoff format, up to three rounds may be required. The final two rounds are two-legged ties, while opening round matches (if required) are single legs hosted by the higher-ranked team. If a tie is drawn at the end of regular play (one or two matches, depending on the round), extra time is played. If the two teams are still tied after thirty minutes, the higher classified team advances."
Wow, so difference in points could decide if clubs are in or out of the playoffs? Interesting idea. I'm very interested in seeing how the game does this My guess would be that 3-8 will enter the playoffs no matter the points. But perhaps we'll learn soon enough. If a gap starts building, that is.
6 assists from the right back Cassandro. That's rather impressive, especially due to him being 61 years old, apparently
Joke aside, tough luck narrowly missing out on top 8, but at least you've now been made aware of the playoffs system, and you'll have a whole season more to prepare yourself for the big leap.
Impressive season from Antonucci, I remember having him in a sporadic role, when I played with Roma a few years ago. Great to see him grow into a more important role now, leading the league by number of assists. Looking forward to see how you'll approach the new season.

Oh, I see I have one typo in every post Maybe I should be a little more focused to this.
Thanks, I think it was a great first season. I'm now much more aware what kinds of player this squad need and how I will be coming to the next season.
Loan with buy option, keeping true to the Italian ways, I see. And a signing from Sweden this time, having signed one from Norway last term. I like the continuity here, being somewhat true to a strategy, it seems...

Seems quite a risk free tactic. To develop players for a year and and then decide about buying them.
I try to keep the salaries down for at least this year so the Scandinavian leagues are a good way to find players suitable for that strategy.
Yes they are. And Denmark is usually a little step up from both the Swedish and the Norwegian leagues, so chances are you'll sign one from the Danish Superliga next

Maybe! You must know I have soft spot for one Finnish Brøndby-legend...

Time to work on formations, tactics, etc., and maybe you can get them a bit higher up the table.

9th place is a great place to be storywise too
And don't worry about the typo, it happens to us all. This was just one of the funnier ones, IMO, and I couldn't let it slide, once I noticed...
I see you've moved on quite a few olader players. Just the sort of thing I always do as a matter of course.
Yeah, couple of those players wanted out of the Academy so I thought to give them a loan spells and let's see what the future will bring.
