Which Part of the Gameplay Needs the Most Work?

Curious to hear what people think.

For me, it’s the entire system of fouls.

I’ll play games where my opponent actively slides at my back the entire game without getting called. Ridiculous stuff like this goes uncalled with regularity:

jugw86uftf1p.gif

And then you get nonsense fouls from your own players like this:

c09mqtd2nc5o.gif

I tapped LT as Jude approached the ball he won, just to shield, and he basically goes out of his way to run the guy over for a penalty. Basically ended that game.

And then there’s the whole advantage system. Maybe the rules for advantage have changed in ways I’m not aware. But if I’m dribbling away from someone chasing me in my own box, why are you playing advantage? And why does advantage sometime last half a second, like in this clip, where my next pass after advantage is called gets intercepted:

lqcr40qu9pw2.gif

I don’t have any clips to share, but opponents tackle extremely aggressively with little to no fear of fouls. Free kicks are increasingly rare just outside the box, which takes away a fun part of the game.

Just feels like the whole system needs a rework.

Defenders watching the ball go right by them on a cutback. It causes gameplay to be far too focused on getting a hopeful cutback in.

Defense needs help. Ea keep nerfing it and buffing offense the balance is way off. I suppose offense and high scoring games is what sells games though.

Passing, too inconsistent from game to game. Try and build up some slow, possession based build up only for a pass to be underpowered despite it clearly not being.

Might get crucified for this but I’d rather have better content than better gameplay.

Content quality in general if you ask me. Gameplay for me is absolutely fine, I do hate putting the defender in front of the attacker and no block happens though.

    Passing.

Under no circumstances should a ground pass I'm hitting at full power be slowed down by unseen forces.

The part when you are much better, winning 4:0 and suddenly can't pass, run or shoot.🤫

Defensive AI needs to be nerfed alot more. They always sit deep and keep a perfect line. People barely touch their cb's anymore and just defend with their dm and avoid using their defenders. As thats when they start conceding.

Other then that the game is fine. Maybe nerf the gk's speed and ability in 1 on 1's. That will reduce the need of cutbacks and they save way too much for something thats really hard to stop irl

But in general the AI is already awful. How much more do you want to nerf it?

It's already utterly stupid and the entire game resolves around rigging the AI, because it's that stupid.

The AI needs to be made a lot better before you can then nerf certain aspects of it.

People like high scoring games and offense but it’s pretty much 4321 because defense can’t track runs. If you can’t overload head on then go for cutbacks because defense is even worse at tracking those.

If all else fails do the German cross as defense can’t track those either. As a last resort do flip flaps pop and stops zig zags the defender won’t be able to keep up.

You can also do all the through balls ping pong passing and step over lb sprint speed boosts.

Also for fun do 40 yard flick up power shots or trivela shots.

I know defense gets in the way of a shot or pass once in a while but how much more do you want to nerf it.

Aslong as people dont touch their defence because they are better off not touching them, AI deserves a nerf. Being good at defending should be part of your skillset and there are way too many players that rely on their AI. Ironically those players are usually harder to beat then those that actively defend themselves.

Its not really realistic how they always sit deep and keep the perfect line. Its definitely better then last year as it was even worse back then. The patches made next gen definitely more enjoyable, but there is still lots to improve.

If the game didn't assist people with defensive help then people wouldn't need to resort to finding and abusing exploits as other ways to score. People can run around with their midfielders and the defenders will do some work if going through the middle, can the same be said when attacking?

So you nerf the German crosses, nerf the cutbacks, nerf the ability for attackers to do skills that get past defenders, then you might as well just load into penalties every match.

The game for both attacking and defending needs to be skill based, none of this assistance thats currently in the game.

Well yeah offense should be manual. But how many exploits do you need to get around the defense that barely does anything anyway?

    All of them.

The main issue is the auto tracking.

It's too good in the box and too bad everywhere else on the pitch.

Even in the box defense has a hard time tracking. You have to be an octopus to be able to track all the runs and stop the skill moves ping pong passing. Just need defense to do basic things.

But yeah tekkz new video trying to play manual offense shows how much the balance is off. It was easier for him to get a penalty and score than play normally lol. How can offense not be manual in a competitive game?

Can't get the GIF tool to work, but I would like them to fix whatever leads to this happening on my first possession (opening kickoff),:

    https://gamerdvr.com/gamer/just-chappy/video/173417925

followed by this happening on my opponent's first possession (immediately after the above video):

    https://gamerdvr.com/gamer/just-chappy/video/173448838

Guess it's just "bad luck" :D

Every "exploit" is a direct result of the defending AI. The travelas, the cutbacks, the crosses, the first time lb+y.

But I do have hopes of it improving next year as last year it was really bad and now its playable and enjoyable.
