This Game Is Easier If You Are Bad At It.

This is the only video game I have ever played where the skill gap is so none existent that bad players are rewarded.

Half the people I play against are so clueless on defence, but it helps them because the A.I. Just bails them out constantly, while manual defending will just see the ball ricochet back to your opponent,

This is just pure trash, it’s worse than ever. This is the first week all year that I’m not even going to get 8 wins in rivals because I’m just sick of playing against players who are terrible at the game but the A.I. does everything for them.

I have just had enough.

So I’m a pro, as in all honesty I have no clue how to defend 🤣🤣🤣

Honestly, it sounds like sacking this game is the best thing you could do. You're miserable playing it and they'll never fix the things that you complain about. For your own mental well-being, all I can say is to find another game. This isn't meant as a 'git gud' type of post btw. Too many people stay playing this when they're not happy and it just becomes a vicious circle.

Whilst this is just another pathetic whinge post, the type of which we see in here every single day, it is true that the skill gap is an odd one.

I started FUT last year and am a much better player than I used to be. Last year, I was occasionally beating my opponent whilst having a lower xG. Now, tooling around currently in D5 (I've been D1, but I RQ when irritated by an opponent so promotion is tricky due to all the kick off goal attempts), pretty much every full game that I play I "win" on xG but don't always win the actual game. Last night I lost 2-1 with xG of 0.3-4.2 and drew 1-1 despite 11 shots on target to 4.

So yes, the AI protects the weaker players, but the bottom line is to get good. When I get smacked like a little ❤️❤️❤️❤️ in WL by a vastly superior opponent, which happens every WL without fail, I have serious doubts that it's his AI.

Also, the AI should protect the weaker players as EA rightly wants to encourage them to get into the game as opposed to being destroyed and having no chance.

Lol it does but no I don’t mean to be rude. But there clearly is a skill gap. How big or not is irrelevant, people are in higher divs and get 19-0 16-0 etc for a reason each week. It’s not random they are not picked. There is handholding in this game. But still does not mean there is no skill gap. Learning what works and what doesn’t and how to win regular is a skill.

I also agree with Bob if the game stresses you out try and play a little less or find some fun in it. Accept the flaws.

Definitely and fully agree. But most players are stuck with a mindset where they should win almost if not all games because they do everything right. If you struggle breaking down a defence then your opponent will too, unless he's doing something that you arent doing.

There is definitely a skillgap and the higher you climb the harder it gets to break through. And I personally believe everyone has a physical/mental limitation aswell no matter how hard you try, practise or watch others play.

I usually get 6 wins in WL. I’m rubbish at the game. So no, it doesn’t reward me as a bad player.

If something doesn't make you happy then you should cut it lose, no matter how much money/time/effort you poured into it

Yeah agree. See now I think what sets good players apart is the defending, you’ll notice in WL loss can dribble very well but stop that and get at them and you find the drag players out or don’t read passes etc. the higher up you go the tighter the games get then it’s on decision making and taking and creating your chances as there may only be 4 shots a game coming your way.

Oh 100 percent it’s a mind thing too. The happier and less tired you are the better you play. I find anyway I’m old now. WL the best day gives me a headache lol.

True, but if it’s misery to play, it’s best to just jack it in. Or at least trade for a bit and wait for the next patch. It might favour you a bit more than this one.

There is a skill gap for sure, I know when I'm playing a great player because their gameplay is off the charts, rubbish players I can tell from their kick off, literally!! Anything in between it's a good game, is what it is!

It is unfortunate that every gamemode is skillbased matchmaking apart from the first couple games ij wl. If there was a gamemode where matchmaking was completely random you would definitly see the skillgap clearly in almost every game. Now because you almost only face people in youre own skillrange every game feels like Ai and luck play major roles. I have friends who have never beat me in 100+ games and others who always stomp me. There is definitly a skillgap..

So I need to get worse to get better results, I like this theory, although the only flaw I see is I’m not sure I can be any worse.

Maybe if I play an all bronze team my results will improve as the AI will make them all gods.
