I misinterpreted what I was trying to understand. I just want to understand why does Vazquez strong link mean less to the chem system than a weak link from a Brazil player not even in the same league. In my eyes. This makes no sense. It’s one more La liga player but gives less chem

It's just a stupid system in general and restricts team building in my opinion but it is what it is

Vasquez is redundant due to the Mendy link you need 4 players from the same club for full chem less if they are same nation and a manager won't help unless the same nation

Agreed they haven't thought it through properly you can see that with a lack of managers from specific nations which is also a pain.
I like you don't have to connect players for chem (CB to RB etc) but the system still needs tweaking and they need to do something with icons as well.

As for your predicament I think Brazil manager if you have but not 100% on the effect on others in your team or coutrois in goal or upgrade Mendy to a Brazilian LB not sure on your budget

The chem system should’ve been left alone. I’m probably the only person who’s not able to build a decent first team because of it…Last year I could easily fit someone like Bale easily.
