I am shocked many people are ranting about this patch. It seems some of you are new to FIFA . We are going to get so many patches, so why get worked up? we had about 14 to 17 patches last FIFA , we just received patch 3 and everyone is screaming pace, pace pace..

Go into FIFA and stop stressing . it is what it is

I think people like myself are just disappointed because gameplay was new and refreshing with pace not being the meta. Even if there were other faults as there always is. Like you said though it is what it is and some people enjoy the pace meta. Imo it lowers the skill gap so maybe more friendly to casuals as well

I know quote a few casual players who hate the update and have never been a fan of pace meta boyfans ideology.

People saying high pressure were rubbish

Now people are saying drop back and counter are rubbish

In the end, it’s just losing is rubbish.

Same tbh. The faster speed makes the game feel more responsive. Every game has a higher average of goals but my WL finish and Rivals record is the exact same.
  • I'd be fine with the patch if they fixed manual defending and rebounds. The amount of times I'll put in a tackle to be punished by the ball rebounding to his player again in a better position.

This is such a big problem for me

It’s terrible, I like playing a high line and having my fullbacks go forward. One through ball and I’m done now. Conceding 5-6 goals a game and cba changing to play some horrible drop back counter game

Because its now just hold sprint and shoot. Passing is now so bad that people dont press pass they just use 93 pace sweat to sprint through on goal whilst defenders stand in quick sand watching

They will never satisfy everyone but I feel they have always had an issue with creating a somewhat balanced game. I don’t think they have the answer either.

My opinion is its just too inconsistent.

Fifa seems to 'play' better when its slower due to many flaws being manageable.

When you ramp up the speed like so things like player switching become a bigger issue, its always been bad but when the gameplay was slower you were able to cope with it, now whilst you're hustlin' to get to the correct player your opponent is already clean through on goal.

Same logic applies to the standing tackles, cut backs etc, all were 'manageable' for the most part, with this speed its not as your defence just fails to act quick enough because you cannot select them quick enough or one has left a gap you cant close quicker than the player running through it or the standing tackle which was previously effective is no longer as the attacker moves to quick for that weak ❤️❤️❤️❤️ tackle to connect.

The defending on Fifa has quite often been bad, reducing the pace somewhat allowed you to sort out the nonsense during its bad moments as you had time to do so at a slower pace, ramp it up and you're chasing shadows or having to defend by making the first move which we all know is disastrous in Fifa.

People defending with CDM's etc will keep 9n truckin' however..

Just like in real football. That’s the risk you run using a high line. You can’t have it both ways.

Its not because they've destroyed the ability to press. Which you can do in real life.

At least 50% of my goals are like this, I win it on the edge of the box and expect to counter but instead it’s in the back of my net

The worst thing they did was listen to all the meta kids.

Constant pressure I get why they patched it. Its unheard of except for maybe Leeds under Bielsa. Playing what he called murder ball in training. Just endless man to man marking all game. Except its not really feasible and over the course of a season and against teams with world class players it can be opened up. Constant pressure on this game was just straight up the tightest man to man marking all players and they did it with boundless energy and the problem many people felt was okay that's fine if you want to do that but it seemed to also have an affect on your own players passing and movement too. That was most peoples gripe.

For some reason though they decided to not only nerf Constant pressure they also nerfed press after possession loss and pressure on heavy touch. This was an absolute scandal in my opinion and its lead to the game being destroyed.

Both of the other 2 presses are viable tactics in real life and should be in this game. They've killed it by making the stamina reduction so severe with those the same as Constant. When they are completely different Defence tactics.

Press after possession loss looks very similar to Constant press except for one thing its more peps 6 second rule. And therefore nothing like Constant once the 6 seconds are up.

The People who complain about that press are the no look passers who just aim forward without thought to their strikers from deep from within their camped box. And when they lose the ball and lose game deservedly they whinge that it's too much pressure tactics on them that make it unplayable for them.

In reality its just that they are garbage as Its not hard to get out of a 6 second press. 1st thing is, just don't blindly press pass forward endlessly and maybe pass back and pass around the press instead. Maybe go an actual long ball into a tall striker instead or something.

But nope. Woke kids get their way cos it stops their meta. The meta that allows the easiest of straight x balls from deep through your entire team.

Its nothing new. This same code has been the basis of fifas success and the same tactics have been used by kids doing the same monotonous stuff since fifa 10 thought back then they called it ping pong passing. Winning it and just hitting no look passes to striker who then passed it quickly with no thought between 2 strikers in a 442 formation.

The biggest problem for players who want to play high up attacking football now and actually take a game to the opposition who just sits camped in their box is. Being broken on. Which is obvious but the more players they advance forward the more chance they are going to get broken on because there's just no physical way of making any attempt to try and prevent that no look forward pass through your whole high advanced team without being able to have an effective press that the best teams in real life football would do so efficiently. We could do this before the patch quite a bit but alas this has now been killed.

And that my friends is why the game is dead.

That along with if you did decide to press High and do it well. After 40 mins your creative explosive players get tired quickly and lose their explosiveness to dribble that 1st 5 yards fast and rendering them completely useless. Especially when the style of high press and possession football is close knit passign football with some neat dribbles and tight turns around the opposition box.

Tiredness really affects the acceleration of the small nimble players far more than the taller more powerful players. The meta players sprinting in straight lines doing 60 yard sprints endless bleep tests.

So the game is based on only one way of playing that is to simply use the AI Defend, sit in your own box and hit blind no look forward x passes when you win it unopposed for a completely nerfed pressing system, directly to the striker who will go 60 yards with 1 or 2 others in support directly inbehind the player who came to play attacking football and advanced men forward looking for goals.

In the end the meta player with 30% possession says Git gud after doing nothing with the control pad all game. Except hit X forward a few times in a row quickly. Spamming it and losing it 8/10 times but the game gives it him 2 of those times and that's enough for him to win easily

When the game first came out, I genuinely believe that was as close to real football as they've had it. Then a few patches later it's and arcadey drop back and counter garbage rehash of previous editions.

Yeah I don’t get it. Even though the patch encourages drop back counter attacking football, you can not deny that explosive players like 95 paced Vini Jr. should leave defenders like Dias for dust. Like it or hate it, but that is more realistic.

But in real life Dias, Van Dijk and other quick defenders have very few issues keeping up with Vini and Mbappe etc. Post patch the game was far more realistic, now it’s fifa 22 all over again. You can literally spam a 60 yard pin point through ball to a triggered runner and it will go perfectly to them from a defender with 60 long passing and 45 vision.

All it needed was a small dribbling buff and a Trivela nerf and the game would have been decent. This new patch is abysmal.

How many times has dias/VVD played against Vini & Mbappe?

This patch shows how bad the player switching is. By the time you have switched to the Desired player they are clean trough on goal

I’m generalising @ICUP - if you don’t understand what this means I can’t help you. But both mentioned players play against much slower, lesser quality defenders than Dias and VVD and don’t score every game. So the point is, that the game was much more balanced to mimic a real life simulator than what we have on this patch. Now let me know if you’re still struggling and I can get the crayons out
