Friendly matches starting soon which always means the new season just around the corner.

Early thoughts/predictions on how it will all pan out?

Is that the ball being used? Interesting change. Looks very retro.

It is way too early at this point, but some of my early predictions that may change by the time the transfer window closes:

City and Liverpool battle it out for the title. Sneaky feeling we will win it this time round.

Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal battle for 3rd and 4th, with one of them perhaps pulling ahead of the other 2, potentially so much so that they actually are within touching distance of the top 2 (I'll decide who I think it'll be later on).

    United to continue being trash.

As things stand, Tuchel to have a terrible start to the season and end up sacked by mid October 😏

You not convinced by United? You said a few weeks back you thought they'd finish top 4?

It sounds like they're still not going to sign a DM so I have changed my mind.

Shades of the Mitre balls from the 90's

We’ll be the only team in the prem not to sign a player.

Newcastle willing to pay big money for Diaby. Having him and ASM on the wings will definitely will a sight to see.

With Jesus going to Arsenal and Sterling going to Chelsea, that must be the first time in quite a while that we've seen big transfers between the top 6 clubs? When was the last?

Kind of weird to want another person fired

    He didn't say that?

Not really. Reads like a cheeky/banter prediction to me.

In fact, the only ones wanting him gone if they start poorly will be the Chelsea fanatics. The rest of us will be hoping he clings on as long as possible 😏

    It is pretty rare.

    Tevez from United to City
    Adebayor from Arsenal to City
Kolo Toure from Arsenal to City
    Torres from Liverpool to Chelsea
    Meireles from Liverpool to Chelsea
    Nasri from Arsenal to City
Van Persie from Arsenal to United
    Mata from Chelsea to United
    Welbeck from United to Arsenal
    Cech from Chelsea to Arsenal
    Sterling from Liverpool to City
    Matic from Chelsea to United
    Walker from Spurs to City
    Ox from Arsenal to Liverpool
    Sanchez from Arsenal to United
    Giroud from Arsenal to Chelsea
    Mhki from United to Arsenal
    Jesus from City to Arsenal
    Sterling from City to Chelsea

From the lists I have seen, I think that is all? Arsenal seem to be involved a lot.

Completely forgot about Mkhitaryan going to Arsenal, jeez. Giroud wasn't really a "big" transfer, I think. Nor is Mkhitaryan, tbf, considering how bad he was at the time of the move. It would appear Sanchez was the last proper one, so...

4 years since that Sanchez piano announcement video :s I remember it like it was yesterday.

I wonder what the hit to miss ratio is like(compared to expectation), from memory I'd say:

    Tevez - 9/10
    Adebayor - 4/10
    Kolo - 6/10
    Torres - 11/10
    Meireles - 3/10
    Nasri - 8/10
    RVP - 8/10
    Mata - 4/10
    Welbeck - 2/10
    Cech - 2/10
    Sterling - 8/10
    Matic - 5/10
    Walker - 9/10
    Ox - 4/10
    Sanchez - lol/10
    Giroud - 8/10
    Mhiki - 4/10

Tevez from United to City - 10/10
Adebayor from Arsenal to City - 7/10 (including an extra point for that celebration)
Kolo Toure from Arsenal to City - 7/10
Torres from Liverpool to Chelsea - 3/10
Meireles from Liverpool to Chelsea - 3/10
Nasri from Arsenal to City - 8/10
Van Persie from Arsenal to United - 10/10
Mata from Chelsea to United - 7/10
Welbeck from United to Arsenal - 3/10
Cech from Chelsea to Arsenal - 5/10
Sterling from Liverpool to City - 10/10
Matic from Chelsea to United - 3/10
Walker from Spurs to City - 10/10
Ox from Arsenal to Liverpool - 7/10 pre-injury, 3/10 post injury
Sanchez from Arsenal to United - 1/10
Giroud from Arsenal to Chelsea - 7/10
Mhki from United to Arsenal - 3/10

Doing this list made me realise that there is a couple missing

Adebayor from City to Spurs - 6/10 (8/10 during his loan season)
Kolo Toure from City to Liverpool - 5/10
Milner from City to Liverpool - 7/10

Basically a 6.1/10 average for transfers.

City have had a good success rate buying
Chelsea and Arsenal have been pretty poor with their purchases
    Spurs barely involved
United and Liverpool have had good but not great success

He joined Chelsea in January and then scored just 1 PL goal for the rest of the season :D

Then he got 6, 8 and 5 in the following seasons.

£50m star striker that was scoring ~20 a season before he went there.

Yh personally I'd go more 5ish. He wasn't as bad as some of the rest for me.
