In the past, I have just pre-ordered when it was available, but after this year i have been left disappointed and won't be doing that again. Will you wait and see what FIFA 23 will be like or just order anyway , and do some of you pay the extra for the ea early access thing, if so is there a good reason ?

that's a good point, shall look into that as well
I always pre-order but not for 23 and won’t be buying until I see some feedback
While I love football games
Fifa just brings out the worst in me
Efootball is awful
New games? They will need a year or so to mature.
Not me. Spent too much time to trade to get virtual coins who are soon to be worthless.
Will only get the game around Tots when good cards are distributed in icon swaps rewards
The game during trial hours may be brilliant, the best one yet. However during the following weeks the patches start, then the game exploits will be exposed and the 'meta' discovered. The game then slowly descends into nonsense as player numbers ramp up and servers struggle. EA's money grab tactics increase rapidly, rewards are underwhelming and players get more and more frustrated as the year progresses. Engagement requirements ramp up as EA need you playing more and more.
Each promotion is hyped to hell by the content creators and coin sellers, then we reach the pinnacle of the year....TOTS. The BEST cards in the game, FP sales go through the roof and hype reaches the max level possible at Ultimate TOTS. Then one week later most of those TOTS cards are made obsolete by Summer Heat! / Futties / Shapeshifter or whatever promo is there to keep players wanting more.
PIM SBC's dumped in the final month, and (last year) the 85*10 dropped to kill the transfer market so people don't continue on playing that years game, and move to the new game.
That's exactly the pattern that has been played out over the past few years, nothing has changed. The exact same will happen again. The exact same complaint threads will be written on the forums.
Definitely not doing it again.
How I see it is that if I stay in a few weekends playing it, that game has paid for itself - No brainer for me. Will try not to load any Fifa points this year, as tempting as it is.
Going to play different this year and not worry so much about trading... was painful this year and not worth the hassle. I usually just have 1 team and try to make it the best it can be but I'm going to do minimal trading this year and keep a team for each league, even if I end up with fairly average teams all year, so be it.
Not getting caught up in the fruitless chase.
Easy to say. I started the year with the aim to have 1 good team and went way beyond that. The trading aspect is more addictive than playing for me.
See you in 23!
Daft comment, but definitely not. Twice bitten, twice shy
It's the only game I play.
Only game I have time to play.
So definitely will be pre-ordered...hopefully with a PS5.
It's been great this year, never had any connection issues or delay commonly mentioned, I am sure there is no smoke without fire, but for me It's been enjoyable and ultimately I have players this year I'd never have gotten in previous years. Have really enjoyed the set up.
And the gameplay becomes more unpredictable each year, bounce back in tackling, passing and through balls being utterly random.
It’s just a hot card collecting mess. It’s been fun, but last one for me.
Rubbish, It's predictably crap
