Recovery timer on app expires in 4hrs

Just to be clear if I discarded something yesterday and the timer resets in a few hours I won’t be able to claim that player back. Is that correct?

No it means in a few hours you will get another restore up to the maximum of 5. As far as Im aware any player older than 7 days will not be recoverable

once u delete u have 7 days to restore
