Should bring Maddison on instead of mount, think he’d need the minutes more.

    Henderson having photos with Saka.

    What are they cooking?

The 433 worked quite well in the end. Henderson and Bellingham very good even if they couldn't get the ball in the first 30 mins. Clearly them playing wide was a tactical thing because Senegal packed the midfield and we planned to bypass it.

Don't want us to switch back to 3 Vs France, this 4atb has more than enough defensive stability, especially if you play Henderson in there.

Probably see the same line up Vs France which I wouldn't be against.

Mbappe doesn't realise it's coming home.

My only complaint other than the slow start is having to hear Sweet Caroline again so sick of that song.

Imo this next fixture is our biggest test in a major tournament under Southgate

Belgium, Germany, Croatia, Italy are good and all but this French side is something else

Agreed definitely the best side we have played. They look better to me than they did 4 years ago as well.

Pace is gonna be a real issue against France with Mbappe and Dembele on either wing.

Walker will put up a fight against Mbappe, but never gonna keep him quiet all night obviously. Feel like Dembele could cause just as much if not more problems down our left against Shaw and Maguire though.

Yeah, Dembele’s being slept on a lot. He’s been great so far.

    Saka!!!!!!

    @VVD4 @El_Nino

His talent for papering over a poor performance with 1 okay moment is good I'll give him that.

Southgate and England have so far done as expected, topped an easy group and beaten an easy R16 tie.

France is the test, far from easy, and one of only two teams in the tournament who can match Englands player quality.

It'll be impressive if we can get past France and would go a long way to silencing the Southgate critics like myself, which is why unfortunately I imagine it's where a Giroud overhead screamer sends us home.

Saka about to win the golden boot playing poorly, you love to see it.

I thought he was pretty good tonight, not his best but better than his first two and it was difficult for either winger to be influential in the first half because our wide CMs were basically on top of the wingers and they had no space to work with. Second it was easier for him.

Either way he's still our best right winger and it's a good sign for England that he has 3 goals without hitting top form so far this tournament

Saka most certainly was not “pretty good” tonight. The bias is unreal. And scoring goals when we’re already winning is nothing to shout home about. I expected more from him this WC. Wanted to see him terrorising every LB he faced, but that’s not really been happening.

What is your opinion on Nunez during the World Cup?

Unreal bias for saying he was pretty good when he scored, created a couple of chances and didn't really have any bad moments outside of maybe one? I think the bias is with you looking to find faults in everything he does

I expect more from him as well, even when he scored two against Iran I said he wasn't good and Bellingham should have won motm, but he's definitely not having a bad tournament

Pretty bad. Because I’m not biased.

He also was nearly at fault for conceding, requiring Pickford to pull out a great save. Could have been a very different game if we went 1-0 down.

I’m not biased or looking for faults. I’ve just been calling it how I see it. Got nothing against Saka. He’s in my PL TOTS so far.

People think I have it in for him just because I don’t want him near the penalty shootouts.

Fact is Saka has been better than all the other England wingers like Sterling, Rashford, Foden, Grealish. 3 goals to his name and all 3 goals have been nice goals. He may not be one of the best players in the team performance wise but you need to quit this hatred of Saka just because you want to rile up the Arsenal fans on here

Again, not sure where “hatred” is coming from. You’re getting really paranoid. Like I said, he’s in my TOTS so far and I’d like him at Liverpool as the Salah replacement.

I’m not trying to rile up Arsenal fans. I’ve taken the ❤️❤️❤️❤️ a little bit as Arsenal fans have been very strange in their support for England so far this WC. Utter silence if Saka isn’t involved in the goal. And they crap all over the likes of Rashford, Henderson or Foden and then disappear when they score. Just my way of calling it out.

He hasn't been any better than the other wingers though, he's had end product, but even then Sterling has had less game time, and Rashford has had equal end product in what I assume has been less game time.

He's been comfortably better than Grealish, that's it.

If he was a Chelsea player there's no way you'd be backing him like you are doing.

He's had a good knack of getting the ball in the net and that's a credit to him, it's important, especially in international football, but it doesn't mean he's been good.

Yeah he really hasn’t been better. It’s utter bias.

The only real standouts for England are Pickford, Bellingham and Kane minus 1 game.

Everyone else has ranged from effective to average.

    Saka has been effective.

He hasn't driven at people as much as I'd like, but he has created chances and scored 3 goals.

He could be playing better, but think he should keep starting as he stays in the game and involved no matter what really.

Maguire was also a stand out until today. Seemed a bit error prone again.

We are obviously going to back our boy, just as you would if Harvey Elliot or someone was playing for England. I'm happy if anyone scores for England but happier if it's Saka.

I'm biased but also I want the best for England, which is why I slate Rashford and Mount, neither should be starting.
