Yeah that was weird, I really don't see any way that should've been called a foul.

Giroud should've had his destined overhead kick world cup goal - the bad news is that's now inevitably the winner against England.

Refs always like to stop the game when the keeper goes down, it's why our goal vs United last season was controversial when De Gea went down. There's no reason to stop the game though if it's not a head injury which it clearly wasn't

Yeah it's definitely one of those weird situations that always seemed to be dealt with wrong but never talked about.

Deschamps screams at Mbappe to get back. A minute later he scores a goal. Perfectly sums up Mbappe's career.

I expected less, Poland are not a good side.

Thought Poland were decent in the first half didnt expect much from them. Second half France have been in complete cruise control. I didnt think the defender put that much effort into blocking Girouds overhead kick tbf think he might have blocked it without the whistle.

Not to get ahead of myself but if we do the job tonight the tactics against France are going to have to be to contain and hit them on the break. The worry I have is we will sit so deep and with no counter attacking threat its just pressure until a goal. Hopefully we win tonight and then can start worrying about the balance going forward.

Maguire can handle Mbappe in a 1v1

The Maguire for england cant be the same person as the one who plays for Man United. Clearly needs to leave Man U to kickstart his career in January.

I can’t see any side beating France other than Brazil in the final.

Mbappe has been the star of this tournament, unplayable.

England will try the Tottenham approach I bet. Sit back, pass to Kane in the middle and have Saka/Sterling on the wings for Kane to pass ahead to. That's really the only way I see England sticking with France when they are playing this good.

Mbappe needs to leave PSG so we can appreciate his career more. Nobody wants to watch PSG every week.

I know Sterling has been one of Southgates favourites and had a good Euros last year but just dont see why he would start again this tournament based on current form.

His speed against France on the counter is the only reason I would start him.

He has a family issue FA said if not mentioned above.

    Pickford
    Walker - Stones - Maguire - Shaw
    Henderson - Rice
    Saka - Bellingham - Rashford
    Kane

I imagine this could be the side. Foden also could play over Saka/Rashford.

Don't really agree with playing such a defensive midfield against Senegal, but I do prefer Henderson to Mount even if he was pretty bad vs Wales, so I guess it's an improvement.

Nice to see Foden in at LW as well, didn't expect Sterling and Mount dropped so fair play to Gareth

Nvm just saw the tweet about Sterling

For those that haven’t seen the Sterling news yet.

    First White and now Sterling.

Sucks that Lewandowski gets wasted in a weak team like Poland.

Such a defensive set up against Senegal is poor IMO, but it should be enough still.

An attacking midfielder over Henderson/Trent over Walker would've been my preference.

I'd so have started Rashford over Saka.

I think he puts Hendo in to allow Bellingham to shine, he plays best in a midfield 3 with the license to go forward

If you play Mount (who isn't exactly lighting up the place) Bellingham has to play more defensive deeper which isn't his game
  • El_Nino
10881 posts Has That Special Something
Yeah and that absolutely could work well, it'll depends how much we see Bellingham attack I suppose.

Rashford benched is just strange, why play him against Wales if no matter how well he did your going to bench him after it?

    I just don't get that.
