I have been playing FUT every year for the past 5 or 6 years. I don't play in the WL (other than for a few weeks a couple of years ago). I used to really love playing rivals, even though i have always been distinctly average (Div 3-4 in previous fifas). This year since there is no relegation i ended up finding myself climbing and climbing the divisions way to fast, even with the fact i would go on long losing streaks but eventually wold win enough games in a row to find myself reaching the elite division just 2 seasons ago.
Suffice to say, i didn't enjoy there, thankfully, it was at the end of that season so i was back down into div 2 last season.
During last season i only ended up playing just over 20 games and was just not enjoying it whatsoever and instead found myself just playing in all the friendly objectives games and oddly enjoying this way more!
I am now in div4 in rivals and yet to even play 1 game in it so far and doubt i will play it at all again unless i have to complete an objective in it.
The game just seems to have turned into a card collecting game for me now as i don't really get to use all the new objective players i have collected other than in other objective based friendlies.
I am just not enjoying the "must win at all cost" aspect that the WL and rivals has compared to the friendlies/objective modes where, although you have a time limit to complete objectives, you can win/lose as many games as it takes until you complete what you need to get the final reward but in WL and rivals you have to win as many games as you can in a certain amount of games/time to reach a level/reward you feel you want and then you will usually end up getting some poor rewards for all your hard work.
It just doesn't seem worth the hassle anymore.

I had almost every silver last year but then nobody wants to play or just gg so I wasted all that time.
Gg mentality has taken over every mode it seems as people just quit rather than try to win.
Last year I did almost every card, even if it was fodder or pack friendly modes, this year, I barely touch it, even icon swaps round 2, i haven't bothered at all
I just don't see the point in grinding for a dead fodder card or an 83 Gosens in a 100k pack anymore
Basically, I play a lot less than before. As for the reason why, I find dipping in and out the way to basically be able to continue enjoying the game. If I played the same volume of games as in previous years, I'd have already uninstalled.
It's also true I'm happy playing Apex Legends and dabbled with other games like Forza Horizon 5. In previous years, I was focused on FIFA (this changed last year with a switch to Warzone for a bit).
I'd like to thank EA for making the game so bad I was able to give up.
Open matchmaking in friendlies was the main reason for me, although it's not Football, it's a game of exploits.
But now I only play WL and silver stars.
Also with the big milestones all done for me aswell its just getting more stale more quickly I think is the main issue as yes all a lot quicker so want more and more but yes still half the game left which is scary!
Getting burnt out chasing shiny carrots too, can't be bothered anymore.
Where as I used to try get a few cheeky games in every time I could I literally only play twice a week now.
now i can see the TOTW before i qualify what makes me skip 90% of them
also with trading being as easy as ever, i'm not reliant on Rivals/Champs rewards
Only needing 8wins in rivals is a blessing too as it doesn’t consume your free time as much as it used to.
I like the fact I don't play as much as I used to back in the day, just load up a game every now and then and just play. Still do SBCs though, so I suppose I still engage with the game daily, just don't physically play it anywhere near as much as others.
I play the menus a lot more. Only just paying off. League SBC grind has not been friendly to me this year but recently had some big pulls from the packs. Thought I’d try DR with the new team using the cards I had and everyone plays GG there too… it would seem no one actually wants to play…
If they just do something about quitting on 0-0
It’s like these developers know next to nothing about the sport.
I didn’t know that. With them removing that and hiding your win loss record, it’s clear they’re trying to make the people who aren’t good not have a reminder of how bad they are.
Even little things like the menus being laggy or having to watch pack animations of a new badge you unlocked add to the annoying experience. I don't really open packs outside of earning them through SBCs/rewards but even still feel my pack luck is quite low so takes a while to get a cool player to use or build up a decent bank of fodder for an SBC.
Just too easy to ignore and play a different game/do something else entirely.
