They feel very similar to me but I use RB Verratti as his dribbling and passing is phenomenal at starting an attack or just getting out of high pressure.
While people are right saying his passing is bad, it is worth noting that every player in this game has bad passing regardless of stats, so I would say he is still the best CDM.
For ball winning he's the best card I've used. Keep the passing simple, have him on aggressive interceptions and don't join attack. He's a ball winner.
Put someone next to him to do his passing for him and he’s excellent. I had mid-Veron next to him to carry the ball and play passes and that was a great pairing! Could put De Bruyne next to him as a box to box if you’re looking cheaper than icons/promos too.
Cheers guys, I'm looking more for the defensive side of the cdm role so the passing isn't much of a bother. I've been using Adidas rice and milestone Milla in 2 different squads and might replace rice with him (Milla is very good but can't fit him in my team for chem anymore)

Depends on what sort of team you’re using but 2IF Barella is amazing for cheap.

Nothing like IF Kante for me. Kante murders people, Verratti seems to ask for his ball back. Not even close in terms of aggression for me.
