Career Mode Plans

What's your plans this year teams you wanna use and what type of career you gonna run.

Usually I exclusively play Career Mode but took quite a break in Fifa 21, don't think played Career Mode in 2021. So I'm planning a fun mess around career first. Wanna try one with Wrexham but them in L2 and it'll be a fairly gimmicky career not do many realistic signings, but I still wanna try and have that one local homegrown talent with the one player who shines and leads them to the top like a Hollywood movie fitting for the owners. Not sure how long I'll run it, maybe just til we get European Glory.

After that I plan to do a more serious career. I'm waiting before investing time in it as I may upgrade my console in couple months so didn't wanna get into a long RTG Career which is more slow and steady. Planning to do mine with Swindon Town this year, but that could change by time I get to doing it.

My first career will be with the EFL League 2 club that I support. Some rules: Only real face signings. Strict negotiations but, if possible within those limits, then OK - doesn’t have to be especially realistic. Also minimal use of youth academy. And trying to meet all the objectives. Possibly some other stuff to make it a bit more challenging (e.g., no training, we’ll see how the gameplay is).

The aim is to take them to the top, in principle, but I’ll probably start new new career after a couple of seasons before I make it to the PL/Europe! Partly because the game just doesn’t work so nice after a few seasons (transfers etc.).

I'm going to do a Leeds United career, aim is to win the PL and UCL within 8 years. I do set some rules, I like to keep with the IRL squad registration rules so 17 or less foreign over 21 players.

Youth academy can be quite OP so I like to keep it to a minimum as far as promoting youth, max of 2 per a season unless the board expect more. I prefer to buy scanned players but open to generic faces as long as it's decent.

Career Mode exclusive here. At the moment I think I'll start in the Premier League, where I'll get to know the game, new bugs, get a feel of everything. I have a certain club in mind, but won't make a final decision, before I've seen their kits etc. But it could be a more short term experience at hand.

In time I also have a vision to start in the 2. Bundesliga. With big clubs like Schalke 04 and both Nordderby clubs, HSV and Werder Bremen, this could prove to be a quite interesting league to play in. Not sure which team I would choose though, perhaps one of those three and perhaps one of the others in the league. It could also come down to the looks of their kits, stadium etc.

But no matter where I'll start playing, I'll keep in mind to avoid playing my star players in every game, if the dynamic potential is the same as in FIFA21. A year ago I started in the Danish league and suddenly had 4 or 5 from their original squad to have "potential to be special" and prices exceeding £100m. To me that kind of ruins the experience, so I'll try to make sure the players don't grow that rapidly, when I start playing next Friday.

A good example of the dynamic potential silliness. Hopefully they’ll do something about it this year.

Same I do every year! Switch my team (LA Galaxy) with a low rated Championship team and work my way up to the Prem only by simulating all the league games. (I manually play the first half of all cup games to play with the young players I scout and promote). Makes me feel like a real life coach and I see how many seasons it takes me to establish the Galaxy into a European powerhouse.

Start every career mode with Huddersfield town and try to gain promotion. With the new create a club I will recreate the team I play for and start in league 1 with a young squad and try to progress through the leagues. Would start in league 2 but because can only select a rival from the same league it needs to be league 2

My plan is to wait for the mods to come out, as I play on the PC I am hoping the textures can be enhanced along with the missing teams to be put back back in.

If you are on the PC mods can bring so much to FIFA and make the experience last longer for example I loved one of FIFER's smaller mods that made the CPU teams play more aggressive and so you had more cards given. Yes sometimes it was a bit OTT but a lot better than vanilla.

Hopefully with FIFA 22 we will see some more brilliant mods, if not I doubt I will bother this year.
