Is PIM Desailly still viable and end game at this stage?

Does he have that special icon sauce?

I'm in need of an icon for links and have fodder spare....

I didn’t really like him when I had him, felt really slow & sluggish. Gets caught out quite abit and He also takes forever to recover. Better off with rttf varane

I juggle between him and Tapsoba next to TOTS Varane. He’s a lot faster than Varane and is very present. My only real problem with him is on the ball he feels like a bronze and his distribution isn’t the greatest but to answer your question is he still viable? Yes I still I use him in WLs but I’m a D1 G2 player I don’t know what he’s like at higher levels

No. Desailly seems average when I playing against him. I hate playing against Tapsoba and Lazaro most. Ofc, I didn't do them.

I thought he would be end game but he was so disappointing that I put him in an SBC within a couple of weeks

His 1 on 1 defending is as good as it gets but his dribbling and passing make him a complete liability when you play at a highish level (average about 25 wl wins)

I did the loan version and there is no way I’d do the full version

Desailly is a tank,,,your short strikers won't be able to penetrate him easily,,with a shadow he catches everyone(I play 10 depth,,n those run n gun goals were rare),,,his passing is bad though, especially long passes

@Jordonp thanks for insight, how does he compare to Tabsopa (I've used him extensively).

I'm surprised you said he's a lot faster than Varanne 🤔 is Desailly the better pure defender (I don't mind about distribution)? Cheers

Ah so it seems he's a bit of a clunker, especially when being pressed, thanks for insights guys

He is faster at running but that’s all. Desailly is not a better defender than Varane in any sense. He’s a ‘good’ defender though. He’s better than say a Lacroix, Kimpembe etc.. these types of defenders that go in to the tackle and you don’t know whether they will come out with the ball. However there are other defenders that are much better than him - Tapsoba, Marquinhos for e.g. With Desailly is more the convenience factor - he’s an icon. If you play him alongside someone like Varane you’re not going to struggle much at all as that’s a solid defence and if having Desailly in your team means you can bring in better players for your midfield and full backs then it can make your team better a whole having in there. Those are the types of considerations to make :)

Bought him but was disapointed.. sold and bought Marquinhos. Desaily feels too heavy.

I did his sbc because I was stuck for somewhere to put dupes
Very good in the centre of a back 3, not fast or nimble enough in a back 2

Hes on the bench as I'm currently playing a back 2.

Why even ask? 95% of the people in here are all about winning as many games they can. What makes you think they will honestly recommend you a player that´s a nightmare for them to meet in-game. I´m suprised people actually think your possible future game opponents should give a honest advice about something that´s bad for them.

Wow. Beyond cynical. Lighten up. Maybe some people enjoy sharing their experiences and knowledge of the game. Not everyone is constantly in strategy mode.

No, but most people in here are which means you have maybe 10% chance to get a honest answer that will be useful to you.

he is ok, usable, not going to help you that much against the best attackers like R9 and CR7. RTTF Varane (as mentioned above) would be a better choice or even the Gimenez card would help with that. It just depends on your level, I don't think he hurts if you are E3 or below but he isn't going to improve your WL results.
