Any thoughts on Bazelyuk? Is on loan in Estoril this season. Has been on loan in the 2nd Russian league last season
A move abroad will be good for his development I think. I can't see him breaking into the first team at CSKA any time soon, that's for sure. Did quite well on loan at SKA-Energiya last season which is a promising sign. Good to see some Russian players branching out a bit, the Russian league system seems to breed complacency in young players in particular.
EL Third Qualifying Round:
Spartak vs AEK Larnaca/Cliftonville
FC Krasnodar vs Hearts/Birkirkara
Not an ideal draw for Rostov but it was inevitable that they'd face a difficult opponent in this round and in the next should they progress. Wouldn't rule out them overcoming Anderlecht though with the job that Berdyev has done to get them this far.
Should be a formality for Spartak and Krasnodar. Confident that Krasnodar will beat Hearts or Birkirkara but Spartak are so prone to embarrassing exits that I wouldn't rule anything out. St.Gallen a few seasons ago was a low point.
Zenit won the Russian Supercup earlier through a goal from Mauricio. Lacina Traoré made his CSKA debut, probably a more interesting point than the overall result.
Anderlecht now lead 2-1 after Youri Tielemans curled home from the edge of the area. A tidy finish but the defensive cover was rather late in coming, allowing him to get his shot away with relative ease.
Perhaps as a response to that goal, Azmoun has been introduced in the place of Bukharov.
2-2 now after Defour foolishly brought Gatcan down in the area and Poloz converted the resulting penalty. Lively start to the 2nd half.
Disappointing performance and result for Spartak. Had more than enough clear-cut chances to come away with the victory but scuppered all but one. Didn't cope well with the conditions in the opening stages and obviously this was their first competitive match of the season but that shouldn't excuse such an abject result against opposition of this kind.
League action kicks off this afternoon with with Zenit vs Lokomotiv at 15:30 BST, a game in which both sides are likely to be somewhat depleted due to injuries and players thrashing out their departures.
A single goal in all 3 games played yesterday but Emelyanov has opened the scoring for Ural within just 4 minutes this afternoon. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
His departure is all but confirmed and he could be appointed after Spartak's game this weekend
Actually he's already confirmed it. Was talk that Alenichev would go and Berdyev come in over the summer but the former was given a chance. Berdyev's departure presumably down to the internal issues at Rostov and the draw of a big club in Spartak.

It's all a bit of a mess. Berdyev is even with Rostov for their game tonight in a sort of tactical consultant role. With Cherchesov with Sbornaya and Pashinin installed at Loko, Berdyev is running out of options.
Carrera hasn't done a bad job in his first couple of games tbf but it's obvious that he was intended as a stopgap for Berdyev. Interesting situation.
Remarkable he stepped down before anything has even been sorted, Carrera on a permanent basis would be incredibly stupid. Regarding the season so far, the boys have started very well this could well be the year
Good first half display from Rostov playing their typical counter-attacking game. Organised at the back and Dzhanaev has put in a great performance in goal. Ajax struggling to break through and then bailed out by a questionable penalty decision that led to the equaliser. Unfortunate for Rostov but it's still a decent position for them with the away goal secured.
Should add that Bertrand Traoré looks a very impressive player for Ajax though.
Still furious about the penalty call but I have faith that Rostov will overcome UEFA's best efforts to get rid of Russian teams and progress in the end. In a decent position as is and should be able to finish off the job at home.

Rostov's goal scored by Saeid Ezatolahi
Perhaps as a response to that goal, Azmoun has been introduced in the place of Bukharov.

Absolutely. Very impressive.

Not sure why they deleted it. Zenit's media team is hilarious.
