Do you go for a marquee team or a well rounded one?

When you look at someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, you can buy a Mane, Kante, and Varane, and still have change over. If you had a blank slate and 2 mill to play with, would you rather buy a couple of top end guys and surround with cheap guys, or try and have a strong team without that special guy or two?

Balance is key. But depends how good your star player is and if you can still get decent squad all around

Got baby Eusebio and a bunch of untradeables (decent enough ones though).

I could probably buy a full meta sweat team for that price easily and maybe even win more games, but I would have sold my soul if I used Mbappe/Neymar/Cristiano and co (I do have some sweats!!).

I have zero desire to use Neymar as I don't like him in real life. I don't have the same hang up with Ronaldo or Mbappe though. It's also true I have played about 20 rivals games and one WL so perhaps that's why I'm not sick of the sight of them

Most popular combo I see in WL is Neymar/Mbappe.

Would say that Mbappe is the most popular player overall though.

Quite a few CR7s teamed with the POTM Felix now as well.

I always end up as well rounded, avoiding the most expensive cards on all positions unless I pack them or do the SBC. Ending up as first owner exclusively.

However putting a lot of coins on strikers is not unreasable.

Currently i have the coins to afford any of the “ usual “ top guys but I am sticking with RB Williams and POTM Felix, they are good enough for me and people try less harder and be “ less toxic “ when they don’t see Nyny , CR7 or Mbappe !

There is a reason pro's/top 100 players use Joe Gomez CB and Cruyff/R9 up front instead of Maldini and Martial/Werner upfront.

Semedo is like 3k Carlos Alberto is 900k yet you'd wouldn't see a massive difference in performance or results

Neymar is 800k name a 3k striker that offers that similar imput...
