Your Best/Favourite Formation?

What's your best/favourite formation at the moment? Before I build my new team I'd like to try and gage what would be the best formation/system to use.

I've been using 5-2-1-2 in my United RTG and enjoyed it, but I feel like I'd like to back to a 4 with my new team. I feel I work well with 2 strikers though.

So maybe 41212(2) or 4312 could be good? Or should I go with the usual 4231?

I start games 4321, full backs on stay back, one CM on stay back, one on balanced and the third is on get forwards, get into box, free roam etc etc so he almost plays like a CAM and is vital to the team with creating and scoring goals.

Tactics fast build up, 1 width so the LF and RF stay a little closer to the striker. Striker is on stay central stay forwards and target man, LF and RF are on stay central stay forward and get in behind.

That’s my go to formation for starting games but I always try to adapt to my opponent. If I feel they’re weak through the middle I’ll change to 4312 and exploit their centre backs. If I feel I’m a lot better then my opponent I’ll change to 352 and overpower them, also if I really need a goal I’ll go 352.

I find a lot of people want to be told the best formation and tactics then stick with it, but there isn’t one simple answer, you have to have diversity and flexibility to change your gameplay in game. I got 3 or 4 extra wins last WL just because of 352. A couple of games I was 2 or 3 goals behind, changed to 352 and won, obviously this isn’t going to happen every time but on occasion it will overwhelm to it opponent, especially if they’ve become complacent, and you can pull it back.

Being versatile is key.

Yeah that's interesting... I guess it's just trying to get a team that can have that flexibility too. I do want a formation that I can settle and at least start with to try and implement a consistent style of play though.

433 4 is my favored formation gives you good options to go wide or down the middle

Definitely a good variety of formations from everyone which is good to see! Any advice/recommendation what I should go with? Or is it a case of experimenting myself to see what works best?

I'v used it for one week now and it got me from Div 4 to Div 2 in few days. And I have team worth of 300K

I also like 4-3-3 (4). Not sure if I have the best tactics though.

5 width
7 depth

Press after possession
Long ball or Fast build up

Width 7

Get in behind on striker and wingers - cut in and come into box for crosses

Left and right back to stay back.

Cam to free roam and get into box.

one cm to stay back.

I love 4-4-2, has defensive solidity and attacking options aplenty.

LW RW - come back, cut inside, get in box
CAM - get in box, free roam
CM - stay on edge, cover center
CM - stay back, cover center
LB RB - stay back, overlap
GK - come for crosses

4-2-3-1.

Gives me 2 options, width and through the middle. As I usually have 60+% possession, I need overlapping full backs, to break down the defence and the 2 CDM allows me to be less vulnerable on the counter attack. Need my CAM and ST to link up, I can't skill dribble so I can't allow my ST become isolated.

I've had the most success with the 4-2-3-1(2) this year. This past weekend I tried using the 4-3-2-1 with full backs on balanced and had a lot of fun with it.

I played 442 last fut champions and it was really good actually, i will try it this fut champions as well because im bored of playing 4231..
