Worst Fifa I’ve ever played next gen Fifa , how can the latest version of the game not be up to date with updates/patches from the previous gen.. I’ve had to revert back to playing on previous gen ffs
Look at the transition from touch out, open up the body to the shot.
It's way more fluid than on old gen.
At this point you have to be trolling.
That's such a standard animation on old gen, next gen and god knows what gen. Probably existed in fifa 12 on ps3 already

This is the new Van Bergen card on old gen with crowded servers and god knows what. Once everybody in attack has 90+ agility you won't be able to tell the difference between gens
played 5 games on next gen version, its obviously better. The matchmaking is still rough.... every game i have to play like its the world cup final lol
I just played 1 game and i just can't play this.....this version of the game is just not smooth at all compared to the next gen version, the difference is just MASSIVE.
i don't understand how some people can't tell a difference or say its worse.... the movement the animations the transitions between animations are just so much smoother.... it's not close.
and im not saying this because im winning. i've drawn 2 games and lost 2 won 1 on next gen, and the game i just played on prev gen i won without issues....
The matchmaking on next gen is harder, but the game is far more enjoyable.
I'm probably going to play my first 10 games on prev gen during WL and the rest of my games on next gen.
I literally just won 1 game out of 5 on next gen, dropped from 2230 SR down to 2130.
2 games on old version and im winning without issues but the game is just trash compared.... i'd rather keep struggling and playiing like my life is on the line but enjoy the game on next gen i think.... idk, this is so weird....

I don't want to speak for anyone's opinion. But i feel as if some people who say it is worse are purely saying it because their games are harder and tougher. Just due to the fact they're playing better players.
And even i can feel that. The matchmaking is just super tough.
Last week i had my worst ever start to WL. The first 10 games felt like i was playing on 10+ form.
Every opponent was just tough. So i'm probably just going to play old gen (purely to get easier matchmaking) on WL in the first 12/13 games or so.
Then once im on 15+ form or close to it i'll switch to PS5 cause the matchmaking will be tough anyway, and i'd rather have fun than go through hell.
For me the difference between current and next gen is also night and day, I think the fact that next gen plays slower overall makes everyone immediately say it’s unresponsive and laggy. Don’t get me wrong it still has issues but it’s so much smoother overall.

I know the level of squad is always going to be higher come December but easily 8/10 games I’m playing elite tier teams with the likes of Mbappe, CR7, R9, Cryuff etc. Some of the tactics and play styles these players use as well are just downright horrific, par for the course though I guess with D1.

Got some trash vertical stripes on the pitch, matchmaking is either very difficult or insanely easy (matched some guy on 1580 lol), but that has nothing to do with gameplay.

TBF this latest update is really good on next gen.
Also, the flickering screen and weird colours that I was getting, are gone.
I’m enjoying it too. The lag on saves being gone is enough to get a thumbs up from me.
Pros:
- I really like the micro-movements when left stick dribbling. I felt less magnetized to defenders when they pressed.
- Game speed was really fast (maybe I just had a good connection / good gameplay last night)
- the ball travels faster
- it can be harder to defend pace as the pitch feels more wide and open
- finishing feels cleaner and more predictable (I could tell when I had my angles off which might just be because I do prefer the xbox sticks for feedback. Was playing on PS before)
- player switching was much easier
- menus are rapid
- most importantly, my Lewandowski was dominating
Cons:
- dribbling and ball control felt more simulation but the fast game speed can make it feel more arcadey at times.
- it seems there are more animations when dribbling but that in turn makes it harder to take the ball off of players with high pace and dribbling. They feel even more over-powered on next gen.
- match-making is a hot mess; you could play someone 2000 points above or below you
Overall:
- It felt like a very fast version of Seasons gameplay because of how fast it plays. On offense, I was able to hit passing lanes more easily cause the pitch feels more open but on defense it felt more difficult to defend pacey dribblers. However, since player switching feels more responsive, I was able to get to the right defenders quicker. Once I get a better defensive line on my Xbox account it'll be easier to tell more about how defensive marking is on next gen.
Basically most of the new animations are when controlling balls off the ground players can do more touches, the rest where just trailer hype.
Vertical stripes on the pitch doing my head in, it must have been made in ms paint.
The dribbling is a big improvement because of the little extra touches your players take.
It's a lot easier to play against team press too because it's easier to go in an out making little adjustments to not lose the ball. On old gen version (which i been playing today for champs)
Playing against the press is much tougher cause you don't have that close control, your players take 1 touch because of pressure from an opponent and it's a bad touch you lose the ball.
The guys going back to PS4 to try and get ‘easy’ matchmaking are a joke.
Is weekend league that important to you that you will try and get an easier match for an extra 82 perin lol
If you bought a ps5 you gotta be pretty stupid to be playing a ps4 version of a game you can play on ps5.
@TDOF you played any couch multiplayer on your console by any chance? If so did you experience any screen stuttering (not the usual delay but more like frame rate drops) ?

I only had stuttering when there was some carnage in the box, but i haven't played the next gen version in like 3 weeks.

Matchmaking on ps5 is very tough..... last weekend i went 7-4 on ps5 (normally i don't lose till the 15th/16th game)
