So far played 5 games all in rivals at ~2200 rivals
First off im yet to play an opponent at my level, i keep getting matched against people at 1800, obviously not that many people are on.
The actual gameplay
Wow.
The difference is night and day... Just feels a lot smoother and responsive on the ball, the extra animations of players controlling the ball instead of the ball just bouncing is FANTASTIC.
The whole game speed feels slower, which isn't a terrible thing... you feel more in control on the ball if that makes sense.
Tackles.... i've yet to have a single bounce back. Every good tackle i made i got the ball.
Dribbling doesn't feel so clunky.
I have yet to see any crazy ice skating.
So far im actually shocked. I can't believe how much better this game is....
The bad
I really hope this isn't just because not a lot of people are on the servers.
Once a lot of people get it and servers start overloading on next gen are we just going to go back to what we had?
Obviously no one knows till it happens.
But as i said. Just the smoothness of the gameplay itself made this game so much better.

Playing against mbappe, neymar, cr7 is so hard... keeping up with them is very difficult, which is a good thing.
I recently just sold my whole team and playing with saint max, ousmane... those type of players
And honestly in the previous gen i was still able to easily out play my opponents, but now it is tough.
When they get touched they lose the ball, the ball doesn’t bounce back or stick to me as often as it did (which is good)
I like it though, can’t wait to buy back my team... even though I’m 100% going to take more losses because trying to defend all those top players is ridiculously hard for me right now.
Idk if I’m just having an off day but I’ve been struggling a lot lol

I am one of those people, buy the game every year based on the trial, full purchase and boom! Totally different game. Fraud squad need to look into this
I like it, but the main reason is the AI blocks... just the blocks are so bad compared to what they are after the patch it's insane....
Once they patch the blocks on new gen i'll go back again.. but everything else i still enjoy.
Apart from the blocks which just ruin the game...
I went back to next gen pretty early.
I think the new version will be WAY better once everything is up to speed, but for me, there was no point playing WL on it with the reduced player base and inferior build version.
Loads of positives from my time trialling it though.

I want to discuss next gen graphics.
“NEXT GEN” is a complete farce.
Graphically the pitch looks great (how it should of done in last gen)
Some player heads look improved, I mean SOME lots of players even in big teams look just like they did on my PS4
If I’m not mistaken, that seems to be the only upgrade graphically? Can anyone correct me?
Stadiums look the same, crowed looks the same

Players who had that extra detail in the hair it looks buggy. I see no next gen graphic improvements apart from the pitch but that could of easily been replicated in last gen.
Only in the new cut scenes do things look different but they are only added here and there. What was the point in all this build up?

Reason theres no option to upgrade to next level even though I paid for digital ultimate edition. This may be the reason of the lack of visual upgrades but I doubt it?
Can anyone else correct me in what I’m seeing? Is it my end?
As for gameplay feels muchhhhh slower. FUT feels horrible yet SEASONS feels better but I feel there is some kind of lag and it feels like it’s meant to be that way?

Seeing rewards for players this year who get top 100 or top 10 the rewards are disgusting and I just dont see the motivation to grind?

Yeah WL reds and packs have been horrendous this year, and you can see it by the pros opening them. Bateson opening multiple top 100 rewards and getting nothing.
G3 and D1 Rank 3 rivals from the 400 points will be my main stay. Will be chilling on friendlies after that.
This is why I sold my PS5 on launch day for 1k. Almost $500 profit. I figured i probly would be disappointed with FIFA on new gen. Thought I’d rather wait until next year and new fifa. Also

I was actually excited after seeing this post the other day I downloaded next gen version after 5 games in wl yesterday and 5 today I can honestly say its easily the worst gameplay in regards to unresponsive inputs and delay ive ever experienced and players still cant intercept a ball inches from thier feet

Been absolutely brutal for me thought I'd give wl a go as I had only been playing a few games
Next gen was barely playable just like the last one delay delay delay, passing going everywhere, players on skates phantom penalties lol
Absolutely no difference to actuall gameplay
Graphics and menus are massive improvement but gameplay still rigged ta ❤️❤️❤️❤️

WL on next gen is sooo garbage. The gameplay is horrible. Anyone who says different are not right. Old gen is so much more responsive then the sluggish next gen.
Gameplay is for sure a lot better on next gen in my opinion. It’s slower paced which I think people dislike and confusing for the game being unresponsive. I don’t think I could go back to “current gen” though even though like OP I’m having my worse WL to date, current gen gameplay for me on the whole has been all over the place in terms of pacing and button delay can be brutal at peak times, have none of that so far on next gen.
Currently scrapping away at 7W 6L, it’s strange though as I haven’t particularly been playing against a better standard of opposition but it’s been relentless 1 depth borefest opponents who I just never have the patience to adjust my game against. The quality of opposition squad has been a lot better though, regular Mbappe and upper tier icons.

Agree. My D1 team in current gen had Hernandez Alaba and Kimpembe in defense and Mahrez with Son and Pogba etc Im just getting ripped apart by Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappe Neymar and a host of icons every game on next gen now...

Click the button with the 3 dots next to “play”. Should give you the option to choose which version you want to play.
