It's already out according to @ponnyslakteriet

Just type "fifa 21 pc" into YouTube and your watching the next gen version.

If you disagree with Mr Ponny your wrong and will be abused.

stop even refering to it as 'next-gen' because it's not. it's a 'current gen' title being ported to next gen consoles that is all it is.

do you understand what a graphic engine is? fifa has been using the same 'engine' since fifa 17 - fifa 21 marks the 'end' and fifa 22 is being built on a newer version of the frostbite engine.

    FIFA16 was the Ignite Engine.

FIFA17 and onwards has been the Frostbite and when every FIFA has gone downhill from then onwards.

point still stands. 17 - 21 = current gen (as in same engine being used for all titles, meaning same model assets are being used aswell)

While this might be technically true, maybe there's some encouragement from the Madden "next gen" reveal, as a number of people came away thinking it looked visually like a next gen title.

Let people call it what they want to call it. EA and this game drags us down so low, let people have some hope.

<-- you mean this? there is nothing in that trailer in terms of modeling/sculpting or animations that is 'next-gen' in fact.

<--- feel free to compare the face/bodies and you'll see they are using the same assets.

you realize that 'madden 21 next gen' reveal trailer from y-day has more dislikes than likes yeah?

Ponny is spot on. Fifa and Madden will just be shinier versions of the games this year with a nice patch, just like all the games like Watch Dogs, CoD and Assassin's Creed. Animations will be nicer and it will have some good enhancements but it's basically like putting lipstick on a pig this year.

Next year will be actual next-gen. EA Sports games as well as Battlefield on the beefed-up Frostbite Engine. Think that's why they skipped releasing anything big this year. Battlefield would've dropped if new consoles weren't out and they weren't working on the engine. Their focus is on XSXPS5/PC now.

So it'll just be a patch rather than a full install on Dec 4?

yeah, ps5/xbox-s is just 'pc' on ULTRA with a couple of shaders, and they'll probably pre-render a few ''in-engine'' cutscenes.

consoles (ps4/xbox) did not even get the re-designed player bodies at launch as far as iv'e been able to tell. where as they did arrive at launch on pc.

Quite a big patch I guess though. It'll look nicer for sure, but we're in a transition period. Fifa 22 may have next-gen features they can't put into XB1/PS4 games. Nicer not next-gen this year. Even PS5 games that are exclusives won't take full advantage of the system until 2022 it seems.

Next week the trailer will be looking good, but it's just a tease of bigger and better things to come.

I would agree. I dont see a big of a jump from ps3 - ps4 compared to ps4 - ps5. Will look a little heightened but truly next gen will be fifa 22. Happy to wait and pick up a ps5 some point next year!

You have to hope that they start to use the consoles power, mind you they need to sort out the game fist. I wish they would get rid of the five aside (suppose its a personal thing that I think its garbage)

They’ll do as little as possible as they always do. Reapplying old features that they ripped out years ago, for example. Still riddled with issues that have been here since ps3.

Then this forum will be full of people making excuses for them.

Is that why 16 was the last one I played a lot, especially FUT? :#

NB: I played 17 and 18 a bit and Pro Clubs 18 a lot. Hmm...

16 was the last FIFA which actually had a HUGE Skill-gap, the FIFA where if you were miles better than your opponent then you'd smash them easily.

Since 17 it's gone downhill sadly although 21 isin't as bad as 19 or 20.. those games were shambolic.

I have lost count on how many Ls I have taken since the US release last week trying to buy one online through various retailers. Holding out slim hope to nab one before December 4th but it’s looking unlikely

^ no, this is not what marco reus default 'body' is ingame, this is just me having fun applying adama traore's body id to marco reus. for adama i would argue it looks very accurate and a big improvement of his current look on consoles. mane also looks alot more like how he's built in real-life and another one that comes to mind is moussa sissoko

    Sissoko-.jpg

^ built like a brick ❤️❤️❤️❤️-house in real-life and ea have done a good job matching that for his look in the game. guy's got a a back so wide it looks like he's about to take flight any time.

Perhaps this is why FIFAs update was pushed back. For everything else the Series X seems to dominate it appears. Developing will catch up so no biggie. It's quite marginal anyways.

YEah it’s interesting. Every 3rd party game is performing better on ps than Xbox so far. Assassins creed, dirt 5, cod Cold War etc
