MANCHESTER UNITED - ROAD TO GLORY [FIFA 21]

If you guys have seen my posts over the last week or so, you'll know I've been building towards creating a Manchester United RTG. So... HERE WE GO.
As a huge Manchester United fan (season ticket holder), I think this will be really fun and gives me something to work towards throughout FIFA 21. I had a go at this on FIFA 20, but only lasted till around January as I was disappointed with the game, but hopefully this year I can go all the way!
The idea is to build the best Manchester United XI (past & present) possible, including icons of course.
My starting budget is just over 1m which I have earned by mainly trading and from the 1st WL rewards, where I was lucky enough to base Zambrotta which got me over 600k.
To start off, I've decided to start with a formation that's a bit different (5-2-1-2), and due to United's elite performance away at PSG using this system earlier this week, this cemented my choice to start with this formation. I believe this is the best formation for United's current personnel, and suits our strength on the counter attack.
Whenever there is a change to the team or the tactics, or even a progress update, I will post in here.

The Manager - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Ole’s at the wheel. Like every manager post SAF, it's been an up & down ride so far for Ole, but I'm 100% behind him and fully believe we're progressing under him, he just needs the time and the backing of the board to hopefully take us back to where we belong. He will be guiding this team throughout its journey.
Formation - 5-2-1-2
As mentioned above, I'd like to try something a bit different and I believe this formation suits United's personnel and counter attacking strength. Also gives me a bit more support defensively.
Custom Tactics -
Going to start things off pretty basic, as I've never used this formation before. These will probably adapt/change over time. Please let me know if you have any recommendations or changes.
Defensive Style - balanced
Width - 4
Depth - 6
Offensive Style - Balanced
Width - 7
Players in Box - 6
Corners - 2
Free-Kicks - 2
The Team
GK - David De Gea
Dave saves. The ultimate shot stopper. A wobbly season last year, but looks to be getting back to his best this year following the re-arrival of Dean Henderson. He’ll be keeping us safe between the sticks.
RB - Aaron Wan-Bissaka
An unbelievable defender for his age, and continues to put in some top defensive performances for United. Needs to develop going forward, but once he does, he'll be one of the best full-backs in the world.
RCB - Axel Tuanzebe
You guys may be surprised by this one, but I've decided to go for it (for now). Axel is a highly rated CB at United, and following a successful loan at Villa, it seems he will now get his chance to breakthrough. If he can stay fit, he can become a top, top defender. Was split behind him and Bailly for this position, but I'll see how he does.
CCB - Victor Lindelof
The Iceman. Another player who has had an up & down career at United so far, but Ole has stuck with him through some poor performances and seems to be getting better. Hopefully will continue to improve.
LCB - Luke Shaw
Luke's played at LCB a fair few times for United now, and has performed excellently in this position. With the lack of highly rated CB's at United and the arrival of Alex Telles at LB, I feel Shaw could do a decent job for us in here.
LWB - OTW Alex Telles
Joined United on deadline day, and made an impressive debut against PSG earlier this week. His goals/assists for a LB are staggering, and hope he can bring some of that quality to United. Excited to use this card this year, and hopefully he'll get a few IF's too.
RCM - Fred
Was unsure whether to play Fred or Donny Van De Beek in this role due to my lack of experience with this formation, but I've decided to go with the more defensive Fred for now and will see how it goes. Will have him on stay back whilst attacking to help out the defence when required. Will have Donny on the bench for now.
LCM - Paul Pogba
United’s best player, and although he is widely criticised, his quality and talent is undoubted. Big fan of Pogba myself, but whether he will remain at United in the long-term remains to be seen.
CAM - Bruno Fernandes (c)
Portugese magnifico. What a player and what an impact he has made since joining United in January. Almost single handedly guided us to a 3rd place finish in the PL last season, and has continued his fine form in the early parts of this season. An absolute baller, and he will captain the side.
ST - Anthony Martial
Tony Martial came from France, the English press said he had no chance, 50 million down the drain, Tony Martial scores again. Loved by the United fans, Martial had his best season in a United shirt last season with 23 goals playing down the middle. Will be vital to this team's success.
ST - Marcus Rashford
Starboy. Just like Martial, Rashford had his best goalscoring season last term with 22 goals and really came of age in my opinion. In the news for all the right reasons at the moment due to his Kids School Meal campaign, but is also delivering on the pitch too. He continues to get better & better and its going to be exciting to see how high he can go. My prediction for top scorer in this team.

Do you have money for a real man utd icon like keane or scholes at rcm?
I'd go with fred mate. Nice one best of luck with it be interesting to see how you get on as I'm also doing a rtg utd.Hopefully we can have a good season so we get plenty of IFs. I'm sure we will get utd special cards and sbcs so hopefully there will be plenty of options available.
I do mate, I’ve got around 500k left. But going to keep it for now and see how I do over the next week or so, will continue to trade and work my balance up. Need to play some games to decide where I want to improve next

Yeah I'll probably go with Fred for now and use Donny as sub.
Hopefully there will be many good SBC's and objectives to play for
I'm tempted to do the same thing but with my favorite club Barcelona.
I also have around 1 to 1.2 million coins so trying to figure out how to start.

I decided to keep only with my first owner squad, even being fantastic play with Rashford this year.
Thanks guys! Team picture has now been updated with Fred in RCM. We are Weekend League ready! My target is 17 wins (gold 2). Let's see how we go... United! United! United!
