FIFA21 is a much better game than FIFA20 which rewarded people who AI Defended who used dropback and 1 depth and didn't even try to manually defend the game was a slugfest and boring with a minimal skillgap.
FIFA21 is far from perfect, manual tackling should be much better I hope E.A address this, but the fact on FIFA21 the pace of players is realistic.. M'bappe/Neymar etc one you're clean through on goal you don't get caught which sometimes happened on FIFA20.
The speed of the players is how it should be.
(The running fake shot also helps with pulling away from defenders)
I like the shooting in FIFA21 also, people keep moaning keepers are shi* but i'd rather that than them save everything... when you get into a 1v1 situation you've bypassed your opponents defence.. you do deserve to score.
Team Press seems overpowered in FIFA21 and obviously AI Auto blocks should be toned down atleast 10-15% but I can still cope with the gameplay.
FIFA21 is much better than the shambolic games of FIFA19 & FIFA 20.
I'd be pretty sure the majority of people who enjoy FIFA21 probably don't even post on the E.A Forums or Reddit...
I'm not saying FIFA21 doesn't have issues.. it does but it's a decent FIFA which potential.
Hopefully on next gen the game will be even better.
People who hate on FIFA21 saying the game is worse than FIFA20 don't have a clue what they're talking about I don't care what anybody says.

I know you weren’t a fan but I enjoyed Fifa19. I know you say the skill gap wasn’t big enough and that pace was too nerfed but I am not someone that can do skills/tricks so clearly that was no issue for me! I hate it when I see players doing ridiculous skill moves and spamming them, I want the game to be as realistic as possible and being able to spam (chain?) skill moves does the complete opposite in my opinion. Do you ever watch the weekly Fifa goals? Some of the goals are just so unrealistic they look stupid. Don’t get me wrong I know they are not easy to do and it takes a lot of practice and skill to do it but its not for me even if I could do them.
I get where you are coming from on the pace being too nerfed in Fifa 19 and slow defenders catching up with fast attackers but at times in real games this can happen in certain situations if the attacking player hasn’t quite been able to get a head of steam as it where and I do think that pace in Fifa 21 could do with being nerfed but only very very slightly and ultimately if they don’t I wouldn’t be bothered. Trying to find that right balance must be very difficult for them. I don’t think pace in seasons mode is quite as bad – I have been playing a mix of FUT and seasons and I do find that the modes can offer quite different gameplay. Pace in FUT can definitely be too OP, the downside being more and more players will end up playing drop back and leaving no space at all and then each game can become a very boring and repetitive just trying to work some space around the box. At the moment pretty much every player in FUT goes with the quickest players they can afford and there is a serious lack of variety already.
I didn’t get Fifa 20 so cant comment (I only get Fifa every other year).
Overall I am loving Fifa 21. Defending is harder and it took me a few games to adjust but as I didn’t rely on the AI to control my defenders in Fifa 19 adjusting to this didn’t take me too long.
I agree re the team press albeit I think it’s a good idea it is only implemented in game for a short period but that can be somewhat OP. Trying to pass through that can be a nightmare. Havent noticed many players using constant pressure as a tactic though this year thus far. In Fifa 19 I didn’t mind the pressing because I always felt I could largely pass through it okay but with the in game press in Fifa 21 I am finding that very challenging at the moment. Hopefully I will get better at countering it as atm I am thinking I might just go long and then try to see it out rather than going for risk vs reward.
Goalkeepers I think could be an issue unless they are high rated. I can only comment really on my experience with GKs in FUT as I have only played as Dortmund in seasons so far and their GK has been fine. In my first games (in FUT) they pretty much saved nothing… seriously… If the shot was on target it went in and that just isnt realistic. It wasn’t until I was able to upgrade to Gulasci from RB Leipzig (85 rated) that I finally had a keeper that was able to make some saves. That cant be right.
And can i just say how good it is that kick off goals are largely no longer a thing!!?! At first I was like why are my players not going over the halfway line at KO and just standing still and then finally it dawned on me
I can respect everyones opinion (to a point) But for you to say you enjoyed FIFA19 is crazy.. that's the worst FIFA ever... at the start of FIFA19 it was EASIER to score a TimedFinish outside of the box than to score inside the box...
Also pace on FIFA19 & FIFA20 wasn't realistic, slow players got caught up...
On FIFA21 pace is how it should be, once you're clean through with M'bappe you rarely get caught.
In terms of FIFA21 skill moves, I agree with you it's not "realistic" however... FIFA is only 6 minutes a half... if you want it to be realistic you could say FIFA20 was realistic with AI Defending being so strong? but the game was a slugfest with a very minimal skill-gap... I'd much rather play FIFA21 when the game is more skilled, defending is more manual generally, AI Auto blocks are still way too overpowered but that's been the case for the past few FIFA'S.
My point is the FIFA'S of the past which had big skill-gaps like FIFA15 & FIFA16, were arcady.. they weren't realistic at all.. however if you were much better than someone you'd smash them.
FIFA21 is far from perfect, but it's better than 19 & 20 there's a bigger skillgap.
Defending is harder in FIFA21, There's more attacking tools (skill moves chaining) to get past defenders with opponents who are just containing.. which is a good thing.. in FIFA20 it was too easy to defend the game was boring.
You could say FIFA21 is more end to end, overall I think FIFA21 is a decent FIFA but it still has some issues it's probably a 6/10 game, 19 was shambolic, FIFA20 maybe a 3/10.
(I agree with some of what you say but the point you made about FIFA19 you liked it is insane! that FIFA was so bad!) - worst FIFA i've played.
How’s the gameplay after the patch mate? Have they gone and messed it up again? 😅
I think the game is still "ok" but arguably it's been made worse, gameplay feels a bit slower.. and shooting inside the box seems harder. - Who knows it could just be me haha.
The game is still much better than FIFA21, i'm not too negative about it really... there's another Update coming a BIG ONE so we'll see I guess!
*Team Press, AI Auto blocks are so annoying though... E.A haven't addressed this at all... so many blocks this year and TeamPress Tactic is really OP...
u dont have a clue what ur talking about
Says the one who can't reply with a competent argument.
Clueless Clown LUL.
Not the most recent update but the one before Title Update 3 I think it made the game worse... it became easier to defend... E.A caved into the noobs.
However. the game is still "ok", I don't mind it overall it's a 5/10 game for me, Team Press & Ai Auto blocks are so annoying..the game has deffo got worse but it's still a better game than FIFA20 which was an awful FIFA just like FIFA19.
So at this point i'll take it mate, but the game is not great it has issues but I can tolerate it.
You talking about FIFA20 the last FIFA you played?! - yeah that game was slow, boring & low scoring.. defending was much easier on that FIFA probably why so many people prefer it to FIFA21.. but that game was awful.
FIFA21 is not a great FIFA but it's a better FIFA than 19 & 20.. people who say those FIFA'S were better don't have a clue honestly lol, least on FIFA21 the shooting is fairly decent and you can still somewhat outpace players, I just wish Ai Auto blocks weren't so overpowered & TeamPress also.
FIFA21 can be a fun FIFA at times, but the skillgap at the start isin't there as much now as E.A did make the game worse with an update a couple of weeks ago sadly.. but it's still an average "ok" game for me wish it was better but it is what it is.
Personally for me. Fifa hasn’t hit the heights since fifa 09. By far the best fifa they made. Loved playing online ranked matches. Seasons should be an option. Plus in ranked matches you could see who your opponent was choosing before you proceeded
FIFA09 is going back lol but I do remember the gameplay it was very enjoyable and defending was manual unlike nowadays.
The last good FIFA's which actually had a big skill-gap were FIFA15 & FIFA16, since FIFA17 it's gone downhill and E.A had catered the game to the noobs with AI Defending, inconsistent shooting, and too much RNG.
I've played a good amount of FIFA21 now, and I don't think it's a good game but it's ok at best probably a 5/10 for me as it stands, i'd much rather play it than 19 & 20 those are the worst FIFA's ever.
The Updates E.A have released have made FIFA21 worse though which is sad... at the start the game was in a better state.
It is going back lol but I loved that game. I was on a lads holiday in Magaluf when it was released. I knew it was just laying there on my door mat waiting for me to get back lol sad I know. But it’s not been that good since.
Fifa 21 isn’t bad. The updates have improved in some areas. But drastically worsened in others. I’m not one of these for fancy skill moves etc. I use the odd move but that’s it. Still waiting to play the next gen version to see if it feels better. It’s definitely a game down to personal opinion. Some like it. Some don’t. I could call for improvements but that wouldn’t suit someone else. So instead I’ve just stopped complaining and got on with it. My only big gripe at the moment is how long it takes to do squad updates. 17, 18 and 19 they was all done ready on the Tuesday after the weekends games. But 20 onwards it’s late in the week or sometimes not at all. That bugs me a bit
Having played more, It is still better than Fifa 20 but not by much... I wouldn't say I enjoy it, AI Defending is OP like 20 & ai Auto blocks are a joke... but it is what it is I guess.
E.A Have released 7 Title Updates already... FIFA21 at the start was a much better game, defending was harder but people complained now we have an average or just below average game, FIFA21 isin't a good game but yeah.. it's not the worst FIFA ever.
i personally like how responsive the controls are but youre right, the defending seems much less manual now.
Dont you dare knock Sensible Soccer - I loved it!!!
