Best method to get an assist with a defender?

As long as their position is a defender ie cb, rb, lb, lwb or rwb it’ll work. It doesn’t matter what position you start them in.

Put fast LB/RBs in "Join Attack", then either cross or cut inside.

Use pacey wingbacks as your attackers.

Sub on a defender in place of your wide midfielder / winger. I’ve been bringing on Roberto Carlos for my LM and having him take corners and whip in crosses. You could also sub a defender on for your cam or striker and just try to get the assist that way

I just bombed the wing with mendy and semedo, little cut back or cross and done

Striker and hold up the play and lay off to the other striker, assuming you’re not covered in wool and using 4231.
