Has the Virus saved EA to give them another free pass to exploit their consumers to buying FP?

Whether you like it or not, EA are a ❤️❤️❤️❤️ company and abuse the fact that is game is rated a 3. Ultimate team should either be a free game (seperate from fifa) rated 18, with the same system/or similar limited system in use going forwards or keep it all in one game and change the rating of the game to 18.
Or remove FP altogether and introduce a different system.

I've bought FP this year, spent about £150 I reckon, why? Addiction. I'm 32 years old and was on furlough for two months until today actually. Fook all to do at home.. play FIFA why not, buy some packs, why not, might pack someone good, damn I didn't I'll try again.

It's not just kids you absolute morons, it's adult as well. I'm not the only one in similar situation, people spend far more than me because they're seriously addicted.
FP needs to fk off entirely IMO.
Disgusting company with disgusting systems in place designed to fack people over continuously.

I've actually stopped playing FIFA since last Wednesday now, and it feels good.
Doubt I'll play FIFA 20 again to be honest.

Nah. Market dies if Fifa Points dont exist. It will kill trading.

Maybe won't be a bad thing when it eventually happens. Can go back to just being a football game instead of a stock market simulator. I trade aswell but want FPs banned. It will be better for the game all round.

I doubt we will get Fut as it currently is without fifa points. Maybe it would go back to the older iterations when there was less to.

Nah they will goto a season pass system and have cosmetics in the store so will still make a fortune. Gameplay and content would have to be decent for people to keep buying the season pass every couple of months. It will be good for the game when loot boxes are banned.

Surely all they really need to do to avoid any legal problems is change FP for coins.
If they sell coins, then they have the argument that they aren't selling what is essentially a lottery ticket, as whoever has bought the coins could go and buy packs, yes, but they could also go straight onto the market and buy the exact player they want, which is what I think the main issue with FP is.

They won't be able to do this as it will be the exact same thing. It's not FPs that will be getting banned, it's loot boxes. Any element of being able to spend real money on the chance of getting something will be gone. FPs will remain and will be used for buying the season pass or cosmetic items in the store.

This is something 5that's definitely happening and it's not just going to apply to Fifa. Other games like CoD have already made the transition away from loot boxes as they all know it's coming to an end. EA are milking it as much as they can, look at all the promos they have been putting out the last 2 years.

If they went season pass... I’d be out. A subscription game doesn’t sit well with me when gameplay is not good enough to support it.

Realistically they will not be able to offer a viable playable game without a complete overhaul of gameplay. I can see it happening evenetully but with the current gameplay people will hate it and stop paying for season passes. I can’t see this happening in the short term when they have spent the last (many years), building on top of a already flawed gameplay design.

It would basically need to be a new game to keep people paying

That's the whole point though, once they goto a season pass system gameplay will have to be their number one priority to keep people buying the pass. It's the only way we will see the changes we want in this game. Until this happens, gameplay will be delayed and unresponsive.

yup, hit the nail on the head there, you would only make fifa a season pass game tho if it was free to play tho right? how can it work from being just a yearly launched game as usual?

People are worried about a virtual market where they make virtual coins (worth nothing)?
I know people buy FIFA accounts and coins on the web, but this is illegal anyway.

Ultimate team should be free, like the PES version.
Rated 18, as it has gambling in it and continue with the same system.
I think I'd be happy with that, at least then you don't have to spend £60 for a game that's been in development for 4 months and it would show that EA are aware and sharing with the public that 'this game has gambling tendencies in it'.

I honestly would have no issues with that.

Either that or they devise a new system entirely, scrapping everything and starting again.

You will still be happy paying £20 for an ultimate pack containing the most unique and high rated gold players 81 rated and under in the game
The pack value is an absolute scam

Not a stock market simulator, more a device to make people become addicts to gambling. After all that's what you're doing if you buy FP.

EA any any other company that exist by using the likes of FP or any other enticement that you may make you think you'll get a top prize in a card draw etc are praying on the weakness of those who will constantly do it.
    It needs to be banned.

Why is everyone worried what would happen if loot boxes are banned? As players that is not our problem, it's up to EA to find a way to keep us players engaged. If they can't they no one will buy the game, they either adapt or die like every other company that has a product to sell.

The season pass is different to a subscription based service like for example EVE which would be a more realistic direction for FUT.
Season passes generally give a years worth of DLC, what DLC could FIFA offer?

All I see here is the “market” issues. Who cares about the dam market. The issue is the game play. Having no FP will force EA to make the game better. No FP plus bad gameplay. No one will play.

Don’t get me wrong. I would love FP’s to go and have better gameplay and I will buy a game that is fun to play. The issue is Fifa has had bad gameplay for years. Realistically that is not going to change in the short term. We all hope for better gameplay next year but we do every year and it never happens. In fact it gets worse. This is a result of building on top of a already broken game.

So we know what we are getting even if we don’t want it. The only way to fix it is to overhaul the complete game and it might even result in a compete different game. Not a bad thing if gameplay is great at all but it’s not happening.

The market is keeping a lot of customers logged on. Even FP’s are keeping a lot of customer playing unfortunately. Its not right but EA know how they are making money. If they remove FP’s, the customer base reduces and the income will crash. The game will be trash for everyone.

Hopefully you are right and we get an awesome game eventually but I won’t be buying a season pass until I see reassurances that gameplay is great and also I have control of the games. I’m nit paying every season to see rebound goals, delay and break away cut backs. Even if people buy the first season, You can see how people will just stop paying right?

And it seems the decision could be made in time for 21 afterall. There's another thread on this now.

Great news for us. Loot boxes are gone!!

I'll be happy when I see it in the presentation of '21.. For now, I still wouldnt be surprised if UK will be the next Belgium and FP's will be disabled there where the rest of the world will still have the same system.

I dont think UK's influence is as big as you think.

I do think the UK influence us big but I do agree with you regarding a Belgium style game. No way EA remake the game now. It’s will be as planned but they’ll be running around trying to get a bit more in it as the year goes on.

    It’s cool. I didn’t think you did.

As I said. I’m all for the removal of loot boxes but we won’t suddenly see a better game in the short term. The game has been built on the foundations of broken games for year and will still have arcade like gameplay with meta mechanics, rebound goals and random tackling to name a few.

So yes I want them gone but the game needs to be redesigned, remade and based on playing. But it won’t... they will focus on in game purchases and season passes because they won’t want to lose too much income straight away. Realistically we need a new game to play.

That's the point I'm making mate. The gameplay will have to be a hell of alot better than it is now for people to keep buying the season pass.

The way things are now EA's main focus is on selling packs, remove this element and the main focus goes back to gameplay. It's great news.

It's over for EA. The evidence now and publicity this is getting is overwhelming.

@Fifa_Hawk_85 yeah i got an email saying that the house of lords are going to try and get the GOV to entend loot boxes as part of the GA, it should go well really as you said, so much evidence, NHS want them gone too... Happy days it seems.

Seems like it's finally happening. Will be interesting to see the outcome of all this.
