Nobody here is quitting. No matter how much they waffle its their last FIFA or they're done with FUT, they'll find some excuse to play it again and repeat the cycle year after year.
Yep. Deffo last one for me. Totally hooked into it this year. Spend so much money on a frustrating mess of a product that is also rigged at times. The frustration outweighs the good stuff now.
Once the scamming pack system gets looked into properly you'll see EA have to change their ways. When you look at it, its a pretty disgraceful product that needs stopping.
Id love them to sell fifa and FUT as separate products.
First year I’m undecided actually (FUT Founder) last year was the first year I didn’t pre order early, did it late as possible just for early access.
Will await to see what’s coming in the game next year with new features etc in general the only things that would make me play it is the following;
* Confirmed better gameplay or a new engine (although I’ll probably have a PS5 so maybe frostbite works on that platform with the unreal engine)
* TOTW to serve a purpose again or be worth some value so they are worth packing or playing for in champs
* Champs better match making and clarity into how we actually are matched which is robust enough to release so that I cannot be abused or cheated
* Less Special cards overall available so your best version of a card is the best for longer than 2 weeks (said previously COD needed to go back to basics and build there and I applaud them for they’ve done with the latest edition; glad infinity ward are back)
* Better distribution of cards to players (all accounts should get some great pulls especially if racking up the hours, distribution of wealth and all that good stuff
* Bring back trade systems (it’s not the player bases fault small number of people abused it, yet if invested in better systems again you can reward the whole player base and not be constantly screwed trying new players - like a value detection system that is live and doesn’t allow trades for greater than 10% variant to market value)
* ICON SBC’s - just bring them back please, simply think through your requirements before releasing them rather than releasing ignorantly thinking people will find ways to earn coins from your every move (I mean, you enforce that mentality into players at the very start of the game by the whole construct of the market, coins and value of coins v effort to accumulate ratio’s)
once figured, agree an update mechanism in which early releases are updated every other month, adjusted inline with the value of the market and cards at that point. Most players will happily accept knowing they’ve paid slightly more via an SBC if you are aware upfront it will be cheaper in the future AND in return you get to use that player for 2 months whilst that value is present.
Do not make them expire, apart from playing with my team I’ve built, my second favourite thing was grinding towards an icon of my choice no matter my level of engagement. At least this the way, all the bad pulls people got no matter what rating or league it still had some purpose and softened the blow every time you don’t even get boards or a flare or a dark grey outline of the EA Sports logo (what was that about? Seemed creepy to portray the badge dark from its usual lighter colours, maybe a true representation in our faces?) yet eventually you got a reward that actually was useable and gives some satisfaction.

FUT Founder played every year as a casual since PS3 days, more so this year due to lockdown, enjoyed the SBCs but when incorporated into the game my FUT team has always been 'slowed down', fighting game mechanics 1 every 3 games, connection abusers galore, 4G Lag compensators being matched to my Wired 30mb 20 ping connection, gonna give a miss until PS5, may look at FIFA 22, only if FIFA 21 is an improvement for all the abuses that have gone on in this one. As of today's patch 1.22 the home glitch still works
Best thing you will do is getting away from things you clearly don't enjoy and cause too much stress, i didn't buy 20 and i haven't even played it once which was very good for me and when i see topics like this and people raging about the game it makes me be thankful i quit playing.
My next door neighbour stopped playing because it was causing too much stress and actual problems in his life and stuff like that which can escalate into futher problems mentally.
Fifa used to be a very fun game years and years ago but now thats all gone the slowed down gameplay doesn't help anything people on here wanted more realistic gameplay but the truth is ea have slowly but surely adding those things in year after year and it's completely killed fifa that's a fact.
Yeh we used to be a group of 5/6 mates playing FUT heavily but there's only 2 of us left and i think perhaps a part timer next year.
I think for me the conclusion is, i cannot play this game to the level of enjoyment i require without spending a disgusting amount of time on it and drenched in stress. FUT used to be fun, used to cost less, time and money-wise, EA have just been far too greedy this year. Everything costs more in coin and in grind.
The upside no longer outweighs the downside.
Like any other competitive game you want to be good at.

People aren't quitting over this SBC. Its the overall feel bad factor it brings and for me it's to stop the addiction its brought! Can't fuel EA any more money. Even when I say that, its tempts me to log in and buy packs. I can afford it, just more to life I reckon :-)
I have been playing fifa for years and just doing career mode, decided to give fut a try. Honestly undecided if I will get fifa again next year, I will most likely wait and see how the gameplay goes in the first couple months before I decide. By that time it has usually gone on sale for 40 bucks instead of 80. Way more excited for cyborg 2077 which is scheduled to come out around the same time, so if that game is as good as it looks that might just be the end anyway.
The most fun part of FUT for me is the first couple of months where I can use all the players I like in real life and still be semi competitive.
This year I’ve built the best team I’ve ever had but I had more fun at the start using Chelsea and Barca youth players. I got 17 wins in an early WL with Loftus-Cheek tearing it up at F9.
Last week I got 16 with TOTY Mbappe up front. It’s not fun playing games where every chance conceded results in a goal and every game feels the same.
So I’ll play next year but definitely won’t be doing WL, no grinding for objective players just for fodder and no trading.
It’s also annoying that 90% of players you use Oct-Apr are redundant now as they have mental tots cards.
I started playing FUT in march/april of 2019 and this has been my first full year of FIFA after a few years of NHL. I can honestly say I don't have a need to buy 21 even when I've played only so much that I still have fun for over a month now. Sure I'll probably have some kind of nostalgia of UT, but I can feed that with NHL which after all is my go to sport to watch.
Honestly one of the biggest reason for me not have any type of need for FIFA are the people who play this game and specifically how they behave in games and on the forums. Sure NHL also has toxicity just like any online game, but I could've never imagine how bad it is with FIFA.
Looking in hindsight I regret buying fifa 20 and feel bad for wasting so much time in it
I love football, but FUT has diminished my love for football overall, which sucks. The other day I was scrolling down reddit and see some threads about real life football and I just thought "damn enough of this ❤️❤️❤️❤️" and then realized it wasn't even a thread about Fifa but actual football and it annoyed me. Probably just jaded and it will pass.
But definitely FUT isn't helping. EA has got the concept right (which is why most of us play: the world of football, the marketing, the concept of UT is great) but the execution terribly wrong. The bad inconsistent unbalanced gameplay broke me, on top of that bad pack weight, the addiction mechanisms they implement, the bad servers, the bad customer support, I opened a thread mentioning the dreaded s-word but it wasn't even a thread to discuss s, and they ban me, man overall the experience is so bad, disappointment, frustration, anger, addiction.
My advise to everybody which realizes they have a bad experience with the game but just stick to it due to some level, even a mild level, of addiction is to run as fast as you can.
I've spent the last couple weeks also playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake and HZD and its a entirely different experience, you value the game itself, the storytelling, the music, like a piece of art. Instead EA just recycles the game for profit not caring about giving a good experience. Find another game inside the genre you like.
I sincerely wish it goes bad for EA business-wise, that they loose customers, licenses, that they regulate gambling. The fact that I actually wish this emphasizes how bad a experience this game provides. I also wish this because loosing a monopoly is the only way this game is going to improve, and I look forward to the day a gme of football comes without all this BS.
I will get the next one, it's really the only football game out there, probably on ps5, but I wont spend a penny on FP,s no point building a god squad when rashford and sissoko and ❤️❤️❤️❤️ ben yedder nif cards still smash tots/icon players.
That latest patch is the final nail in the coffin. That's me done with the game, Fifa 20 is easily one of the worst football games ever, you'd be a mug to think it's going to get better with Fifa 21. You're playing against the A.I. more than you're playing against your opponent.
I knew already but 3 games of rivals tonight have put me firmly in the same camp.
22 fkn patches or whatever it is in 8 months man.
The games been run by absolute clowns intent on trying to suck any fun whatsoever out of their game .

Yes, the reality is that this is the only football game with no “real” competition.
However, not buying FIFA points will send a stronger message than not buying the game since it’s a bigger revenue source than game sales at launch.
