To carry on from @RollsReus great work the previous years.. For the 10th year running, the Star Head Thread returns for this years edition of FIFA 21. This thread is consistently the biggest and most popular thread on this entire forum, having attained more than 1.8Million views in last year's thread, which surpassed the 1.7Million from the previous year. This, combined with an ever increasing hunger from fans around this world, shows how highly fans of FIFA value the topic of player faces within the game.
Since 2011, the Star Heads Thread has been the mecca for news on player faces and a place for aesthetic fans to come and discuss all things face-like. Throughout the years, we have had a community of passionate fans. Some who have been members for years and others who are new to the thread. We are some of the most committed fans who play the game, but don't mistake our tenacity, it's purely a mutual love of the game and a desire for our voices to be heard. Our members are constantly looking for squeaks and leaks for any potential news from official teams and players.
Naturally we will have new users coming into this thread for the first time, who are very welcome to become part of the discussion. To you, we say that we are well aware that there's on-going problems with FIFA and that graphics can't be the main focus on the development team, but there is enough threads for these situations. This thread is committed to just one side of the title, something that has their own team for, so we ask that you respect our place and don't post for arguments sake. We respect your opinion but this isn't the place for it.
A resident of this thread, @VapexKarma, has a popular YouTube channel that he constantly posts top quality videos on. These videos showcase many different visuals that are present in FIFA, such as player faces and face comparisons from PES, as well as players who are in need of an updated face on FIFA. His channel has only continued to increase over the past year as he fights the good fight for our struggles! You can find his channel here
Lastly, there are rules that are present in this thread that you can find below and will need to abide too:
* This thread is for player face discussion only, for discussion of everything else to do with FIFA 21 please use other more appropriate threads.
* Please use the Off-Topic section to discuss PES. A small amount of PES face discussion is allowed in here but only for comparison purposes. Anything else/excessive PES face discussion will be removed.
* We understand graphics aren't everyone's cup of tea. Please be aware that we also want gameplay updates and fixes but this thread is solely just for Star Heads. EA have numerous departments working on different aspects of the game. There are gameplay-specific threads for you to air your thoughts.
* Please do not quote posts that include numerous pics, nor create quote chains.
* Please be respectful of everyone's opinion. Arguing for the sake of arguing will get us nowhere.
With all that being said, don't be afraid to join in with discussion. Here's to hopefully a great year!

There are 3 different types of faces in FIFA. They are the following:
Star Head
When a player receives the scanned treatment mentioned above:
Custom
When the player in-game is designed by the graphics team without the aide of a photoshoot:
Generic
When a player has a in-game face that is modelled on them without going into great detail:
EA can you PLEASE add all the missing scans into the game!! There have been numerous videos showing players being scanned / re-scanned (Defoe etc) that you STILL haven't added to the game!? PLEASE ADD THEM!! @EA_GZaro @EA_Rtas @EA_Lanna @EA_DarDar @EA_Cian @EA_Rileyy

National Team scans! (Which would cover most of the top rated players in-game from being left generic! Especially if they play for a team who can't be scanned due to licensing issues.. Is there is a way to scan ALL national teams at Euro 2020 or World Cup 2022?)
DLC Requests
DLC is highly requested in Fifa 22!! Can you please release regular new/updated custom faces in every Title Update? Just like PES do in their Data Packs.. Even if it's just a hairstyle or beard update for an existing Star Head? For example, you added a Star Head for Haaland in Fifa 21 but he changed his hairstyle pretty much immediately after release and you didn't update him all year long? So we had to play with an outdated Haaland for the whole of Fifa 21's lifespan! This is unacceptable in the year 2021 with the resources you have compared to Konami..
On 23.4.2019, we received new updated Bayern Munich scans in Fifa 19 and the vast difference from their old scan to their new one is quite evident, especially due to the improvement in graphics on new consoles, and why it is imperative you update the afore mentioned players who are in dire need of new scans! Here is proof of why on PS5 / Xbox One X we need updated scans:

EA please FIX Götze’s hair. It’s ridiculous and annoying that his hair changes colours depending on a night or day match.

Mario Götze needs an updated starhead.
He should look like this now. Around the same time BVB was scanned in late 2018
Can we finally get an update for Özil? His current starhead is from FIFA 13. Surely you can do better than PES
Michy Batshuayi also needs to updated. His current starhead is from FIFA 16
And if only part of these scans of faces appears in Fifa 21 it will be terrible ...
Plus, why talk about a new game, thereby showing humility with the fact that nothing new is to be expected in Fifa 20
Unacceptable to do as EA does! Scan teams in the 17/18 season and add them only in 20/21 ... When at this point, many teams changed their composition dramatically. And it will be good if all these scans come out in the game in 20/21, although it is possible that this will simply be ignored and much will be lost as always ...

Correct !!! .. now we need the faces in FIFA 20 we are in May and it seems that FIFA 20 we put it in the drawer .. I do not accept this thing.
I do not claim that all are released now but at least what you have scanned in the previous months insert them, at least the most important ones as well as the updates of the faces such as Gotze, Lucas Moura, Vertonghen, Ozil, Ter Steggen, Messi, Rakitic etc ... and then I don't understand Suarez did you update him and others of Barcelona didn't? But with what logic do you make these updates?
It is a game that involves you as realism, and then you get lost on such important aspects

100% this. So many players need updating. The texture quality of old starheads is really obvious like Nastasic. He needs an update

Why does it bother you all? How many careers do you play in a year? I’m sure not one. So really, you can’t finish your career, and then enter a new one with new face scans added?
I don’t see any problem here, my personal opinion
If they were to do like 2-3 mass releases of starheads it wouldn’t be a problem. But if they’re going to be releasing new scans every few weeks of course it’s a problem. People do not want to start a new career every few weeks. You can guarantee that if it was something that got them more money from FUT then they would have worked out a way of doing by now.
Ideally I’d start a new career maybe three times in a games lifespan. When it first comes out. When they add the scans of the promoted teams. And then after the winter transfer update.
Sorry but EA can't create the way to continue a career regardless of face updates? It seems absurd to me that one is making a career and cannot benefit from updates of any kind they are .... crazy and we are at FIFA 20 almost in the third millennium !!!

Yeah exactly. PES manages to do it I think. It’s just frustrating playing a few seasons and then having to start all over again because they’ve uploaded some new scans.

Agreed. But EA never adds new starheads this late in the cycle. And the next editions starhead thread always starts around this time of year.

Imagine having Monaco, Lyon , Lille, Bordeaux, rennes scanned, so many top talents . Dembele , camavinga , ikone , osimen , Gabriel , lafont , golovin , kamara , denayer .
Lyon were scanned too
Scanned last year , so I presume dembele , terrier , cornet , denayer , Tete , tousart , maybe a few youngsters gouri , caqueret etc
